John Shimer joined Pine Manor in January 2014 as Head Women’s Soccer coach and the inaugural Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer Program.
Shimer joins Pine Manor after spending the 2013 season as the First Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Endicott College. At Endicott, Shimer helped design and implemented practice plans for the Men’s Soccer program while also serving as the Goalkeepers Coach and recruiting coordinator where he helped land several top recruits from around the country for the Gulls.
An avid fan of the game, Shimer also served as WEEI.com’s primary analyst during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Prior to that, Shimer worked as Assistant Sports Editor at the Newburyport Daily News, covering professional soccer in New England as well as the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics.
Shimer holds as Advanced National Diploma and a Goalkeeping Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
