Jonathan Castner joined the Ursinus College men’s soccer staff as an assistant prior to the 2017 season.

Castner is the founder of Greenpitch Magazine, a nationally circulated soccer lifestyle publication and news website that featured advertising clients such as PUMA, Brine, Fox Television, and GolTV. He worked there until 2011, when he started a new career as an appraiser and marketer with National Appraisal Consultants.

Castner brings two years of youth coaching experience to Ursinus. He spent the spring of 2017 as a youth coach with the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer (MLS), instructing six youth squads in the West Chester Youth Soccer League. Castner spent the previous year as a youth coach with Soccer Shots in Paoli, Pennsylvania.

A former member of the nationally ranked men’s soccer program at Rutgers-Newark, Castner holds an E license from US Soccer and is currently pursuing his D license and NSCAA national diploma. He graduated from Rutgers-Newark in 2001 with a degree in journalism and mass media before obtaining a master’s of science in publishing from Pace University in 2011.
