Juan Plascencia enters his eighth season as a member of the Cal State Northridge women’s soccer coaching staff. He will assist in coaching the goalkeepers as well as helping out with administrative duties. In his seven seasons with the Matadors, Plascencia has aided the keepers to 39 shutouts and saw goalkeeper Cynthia Jacobo post five-straight shutouts over Big West opponents to earn the 2009 Big West Freshman of the Year honors and two-straight All-Big West Second Team awards (2009 & 2010).
Plascencia was a two-year letterwinner at Northridge (1998-99). He played in 14 matches, starting six during his two years. During his time in goal, he posted a 5-4 record with a 2.32 goals against average and two shutouts. Plascencia’s best season came in 1999, when he posted a 1.86 GAA in nine matches.
