Heffner is in his second season on Cornell’s baseball staff as an assistant coach. Heffner carries six years of coaching experience at the high school level, most recently as associate head coach at Mattie T. Blount in Mobile, Ala. Prior to Blount, Heffner was pitching coach at Cedar Rapids Washington for four seasons and head freshman coach in 2009. While at Washington, Heffner was recognized as the Mississippi Valley Conference Assistant Coach of the Year in 2009. Washington broke the school record for wins during that 2009 season, qualified for the state tournament, and had six players move on to play at the collegiate level.
