Manuel Garcia-Oronoz enters his second season on the Clemson women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach. As the director of operations, Garcia-Oronoz is responsible for coordinating team meals, travel, hotel, recruiting, and film study for the team.
Prior to coming to Clemson, Garcia-Oronoz served as graduate student manager and assistant director of operations at West Virginia from 2014-2015 and served as Volunteer Coach at the Gastonia (N.C.) YMCA in May of 2014.
Garcia-Oronoz played center midfield at Belmont Abbey College from 2010-2014 and served as the team captain during the 2013 & 2014 seasons. He was a two-time Academic All-Conference selection, a four-time Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll member, and was selected to the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in 2013. Additionally, he was a member of the U23 Puerto Rico National team from 2011-2013.
Garcia-Oronoz graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a B.A. in Business Management in 2014 and graduated from West Virginia University with a M.S. in Sports Management in 2015.
