Martin Clayes begins his first year as an assistant coach with the North Texas women’s soccer program after serving as a volunteer assistant in 2014 when the program won the Conference USA regular-season title. Clayes brings 10 years of collegiate coaching experience to the Mean Green.
Prior to coming to Denton, Clayes was the head men’s soccer coach at SUNY Martime College for the 2013-14 season. He led the Privateers to an 8-11-2 overall record and a fourth-place conference finish.
Clayes also had head coaching experience at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. In three seasons with the Division III team, he tied the school record for wins (11) in 2010 and won the league title in 2011. He was also named conference coach of the year in 2011.
