Matt Armstrong has joined Sam Houston head coach Tom Brown’s soccer staff as an assistant coach. The former Notre Dame and New Mexico stand out player was a member of the staff at Oklahoma in 2013. A former Middlesbrough FC Academy player and youth international, Armstrong also spent a season as an assistant coach on the men’s soccer staff at UNLV. He served as an undergraduate assistant at New Mexico (2011) and guided the U-17 boys’ team Rio Vista United in Albuquerque to a state championship.
