Matt Gill was hired as Huntingdon’s head women’s soccer coach in March 2016.

Gill came to Huntingdon with six years of assistant coaching experience at the Division III level with both women’s and men’s programs. Prior to Huntingdon, he spent two seasons as an assistant women’s coach at Virginia Wesleyan College and helped the Marlins to a 23-17-2 record.

Before Virginia Wesleyan, Gill spent four seasons as an assistant men’s coach at his alma mater, Mount Ida College. As a recruiter for Mount Ida, Gill brought in Carlos Martinez. Martinez was a four-time all-conference selection, conference Offensive Player of the Year, third-team All-New England selection and the Mustangs’ all-time leading scorer.

Gill graduated from Mount Ida in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in sports management and a concentration in coaching. He also earned his Masters of Science in management from Mount Ida.

As a player for the Mustangs, Gill was a two-time second-team all-conference selection and was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference academic all-conference team. Prior to Mount Ida, Gill played two seasons at Garden City College in his home state of Kansas.
