Matt Williams was named Huntingdon’s head men’s soccer coach in May 2013. He joined the Huntingdon coaching staff as assistant men’s soccer coach in 2012. In 2013, Williams’ squad set Huntingdon’s NCAA-era record for fewest goals allowed in a season with 31 and tied the program’s NCAA-era mark with five shutouts. In Huntingdon’s first season in the USA South Athletic Conference, eight Hawks earned Academic All-Conference honors. In 2014, Huntingdon again tied its NCAA-era record with 31 goals allowed in a season. Before Huntingdon, Williams was a student assistant coach at the University of West Florida and an assistant coach for the Gulf Coast Texans in the Women’s Premiere Soccer League. As a player, Williams played collegiately at the University of North Florida and the University of West Florida. Williams was a first-team all-conference selection at UWF. After college, Williams played in the United Soccer Leagues, first with Panama City in the Premier Development League and later with Real Maryland in the USL 2nd Division. Williams also played with Team Wellington in the ASB Premiership.
