Matthew Salem is entering into his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Occidental Men’s soccer team. Matt has a USSF D license and will be acquiring his USSF “C” license in July of 2015. He has the level I and II Goalie coaching diplomas from the NSCAA. Matt is also a fully accredited Fitness trainer through the NCSF.

Personal: Matthew was born and raised in southern California. He graduated from Westchester High School. Matt was the captain and leading goal scorer for the Varsity team from 1998-2002. Once graduated, Matt played two years for El Camino college in Torrance California. He then played 2 seasons with LA Misioneros, now (Golden State Misioneros) a PDL team based in Southern California.

He began coaching in 2011. He is Presently the Varsity assistant a Brentwood High School with the women’s team. He has coached at Palisades Charter High, and clubs such as El Segundo Gunners, Fram SC, and Currently with FC Golden State. Matt uses his nutritionist and personal training background to help educate players on maximizing their potential and overall performance.
