Michael Balogun is currently an assistant coach at Texas Southern University (TSU). Prior to coming on board at TSU Michael worked three and a half years at Texas Rush where he began his coaching career as the Director of Coaching for their Youth Academy. He later transitioned into the Director of Coaching for their Youth Boys. While completing his degree in Psychology at the University of Akron, Michael developed a love for coaching younger players working for Akron Metro Futbol Club.
As a player Michael played for the University of Akron (2010-2011) as a defensive mid and outside back. He played on several youth national teams and was a member of the U17 Residency Program. Originally from Nigeria, Michael grew up in Houston, TX.
