Mike Carpenter was named the fourth head coach of the men’s soccer program at Quincy University on July 25, 2012.
He spent the previous nine seasons on the men’s soccer coaching staff, the first eight as assistant coach. Prior to the 2011 season, Carpenter was named the program’s associate head coach.
Carpenter’s duties on the staff included assisting in all parts of the men’s soccer program and serving as the program’s lead goalkeeper trainer and recruiter.
In his nine seasons on the QU staff, the Hawks had seven winning seasons, including five seasons with at least 10 wins. In 2011, the Hawks claimed their first-ever GLVC Tournament championship. Also, in 2010, QU advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1998. In those two seasons, the Hawks had a combined record of 23-12-5.
