Following the 2009 season, Kalin was voted as the Skyline Conference Coach of the Year by his peers in the league after turning in the best single season turnaround in NCAA Division III in 2009. He took the Jays from two wins in 2008 to 10 victories in 2009 and qualified for the league tournament. Kalin had his teams at NYU-POLY competing for the league championship in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
