Nyle Ortiz returns to the DSU sidelines as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs. Ortiz assisted Coach Kacey Bingham on the women’s team in 2013 and 2015, and served as an assistant coach under his father Danny Ortiz with the DSU men’s team in 2012-13.

He also had stints as an assistant women’s coach at Texas-Permian Basin in 2014, and served as technical director at Snow Canyon High School this past spring, where he helped lead the Warriors to the Utah 3A state championship game.

Ortiz played collegiately at Hawai’i Hilo in 2007-08, before transferring to DSU, where he played from 2010-11. He was named DSU men’s soccer MVP in 2010, and was a two-time PacWest second team selection and a Daktronics West Region second team honoree in 2011.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2011, and holds a USSF “C” coaching license.
