This will be Coach Hayes’ tenth season at the helm of the Mountaineers Men’s Soccer team.  Hayes and success go hand-in-hand.  He earned ASC Coach of the Year in both 2006 and 2005.  In those two years, Schreiner played some of the best defense in school history, setting many individual and team records along the way.  The 2006 team set the school record for conference wins with a 12-5 record.  The Mountaineers earned the opportunity to host the ASC Championships in Kerrville – a first for any SU team since joining the ASC.

Hayes has been associated with the game of soccer throughout his life.  As a youth, Hayes played club soccer for the Dallas Hornets and high school soccer for the Pine Tree Pirates in Longview, TX. After high school, he played one year at Tyler (TX) Junior College where he earned NSCAA All-American honors.
