In 2013, Mendel will lead the Curry Men’s Soccer team for his seventh season. His Colonels finished their 2012 season with an overall record of 11-9 and advanced to the CCC Tournament quarterfinals.

The 2008 season was a very successful season for Mendel and his squad. The Colonels finished the regular season with a 16-5-3 overall record. The 16 wins were the most in school history. Curry’s conference record was 9-2-2. For the first time since the 1995 season, the team advanced to the semi-final round of the CCC Tournament. Curry was defeated by Nichols College, 2-1. Also for the first time in school history, Curry was selected to play in the ECAC Division III New England Tournament. The Colonels lost to Coast Guard in the semi-final round, 2-0. At year’s end, Mendel was chosen by his peers as CCC “Coach of the Year.”

A native of Adams, Massachusetts, Mendel is a graduate of Endicott College where he earned his degree in sport management. He was a four-year letterman with the soccer program. He was an All-State player in high school and was inducted into the Berkshire County Soccer Hall of Fame for his stellar career at Hoosac Valley High School.
