Coach Shabansky will tap into the knowledge he gained from a successful professional career in guiding the equally successful Gateway Geckos. Prior to coaching at Gateway, Coach Shabansky was drafted by the Kansas City Roylas in the 1995 MLB June Amateur Draft out of high school, and again drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 1998 MLB June Amateur Draft out of the University of Arizona. Shabansky spent four years pitching in the minors before transitioning into coaching with Gateway, where he hopes to lead the Geckos to another JUCO World Series appearance, with their last appearance being in 2011.
