Sara Meyer, formerly Sara Johnson, begins her third year as head coach in 2013 (13-19-6/2 years at Carthage/26-25-8, 3 years overall). Meyer guided the 2012 Lady Reds to a fifth-place finish in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Meyer was the head coach at Wartburg College in 2010 and guided the Knights to a 14-6-2 record, 7-1 in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and a second-round appearance in the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship.
She served as an assistant coach at Wartburg for three years from 2007 to 2009, where she helped guide the Knights to their first-ever Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title, as well as an NCAA “sweet 16” appearance. At Wartburg, Meyer helped coach one National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American, six NSCAA all-region players, two IIAC “Players of the Year” and 15 all-conference players.
