Scott Blanchard enters his 12th season overall at Brown and his 10th year in his second stint as an assistant coach for the Brown University women’s volleyball team in 2017-18. Blanchard served the Bears as an assistant from 1995-96 and rejoined the program prior to the 2008-09 season.

Blanchard helped guide the Bears to back-to-back seasons in the top half of the Ivy League in 2013 and 2014 as Brown posted an 8-6 league mark in 2013 and a 7-7 conference ledger in 2014. In 2015, the Bears notched their first win over Yale since the 2005 season. He has mentored 12 All-Ivy selections during his time at Brown, including seven such performers from 2011-16.

During his first run at Brown, Blanchard aided in guiding the team to its first Ivy League title and first NCAA Championship appearance in 1996 as the Bears finished with a 20-14 overall record, their first 20-win season since 1984.
