Scott Pittenger enters his first season as volunteer assistant coach for the FIU baseball team, working primarily as an infield instructor. Before joining the Panthers, Pittenger served as the hitting and infield coach for the Midland Braves in Cincinnati, Ohio, leading the Braves to the 2010 Mickey Mantle World Series. Prior to his stint with the Braves, he served as an assistant coach for his high school alma mater, Riverview High School in Sarasota, Fla. He helped lead the Rams to an 18-4 record in his first year of coaching in 2007.
