Former Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer standout Sean McBride was hired as BSC’s Head Women’s Soccer Coach on May 12, 2014. McBride is a 1999 BSC graduate and a member of the BSC Sports Hall of Fame after being inducted in 2003. He was the Varsity Boy’s Soccer Coach at Homewood High School from 2001-2014, as well as a Social Studies teacher, and led the Patriots to four state titles, including the most recent one in 2014. Homewood’s previous state championships under McBride’s direction were 2003, 2005, and 2006, and HHS was state runner-up in 2002. He received Birmingham News Metro Soccer Coach of the Year and Alabama High School Athletic Association All-Star Coach honors.
