Simone Borucinski will enter her sixth season with the Bears in 2015. Her work has been crucial in helping create a Big Sky Champion at Northern Colorado.
Borucinski joined the Bears in 2010 as a Volunteer/Graduate Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. An Australian native, Borucinski has made several stops in her coaching career.
Before coming to Greeley, Borucinski was the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at the University of Rutgers-Newark. Arriving in August of 2009, she only coached one season for the Scarlet Raiders.
She also has extensive experience coaching at the youth level. From 2007 to 2008, she was a coach for the youth club FC Copa in New Jersey. While with Copa, Borucinski coached and trained youth teams ranging from 10 to 18 years old. From 2006-2009, she also worked as a Soccer Trainer/Evaluator for the Wall Soccer Club, devoloping programs to help youth players prepare for club soccer.
Borucinski played college soccer at Coastal Carolina University, where she graduated in 2007. While playing for the Chantileers, Borucinski started all four years and was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III Second Team.
While in Australia, Borucinski played for the Australian National Team in the 2002 Women’s Youth World Cup. She was also a member of the Canberra Eclipse in Australia’s top soccer league, helping the squad to a league title in 2001 and a third-place finish in 2002.
