In his seventh season at the helm of Eastern Nazarene’s women’s soccer program, head coach Steve Hamilton has completely transformed the team.

The Lions posted their third-straight trip to the CCC Tournament in 2013 and finished the season with an 11-8-1 overall record, the most wins in program history. Eastern Nazarene won eight of its first nine matches to start the 2013 campaign. Hamilton also guided the Lions to their first-ever berth to the ECAC Tournament in 2013.

Under his tutelage, Jules Speno and Amelia Gonzales each earned All-CCC second team honors while Katherine Lawrence received honorable mention.

As well as attaining success on the pitch, Hamilton’s teams have also excelled in the classroom. The Lions have garnered the NSCAA Team Academic Award in each of the past two academic years. Six women’s soccer players also claimed spots on the CCC All-Academic team in 2012-13.

In 2012, Hamilton’s squad claimed the No. 4 seed in the CCC Tournament and hosted the program’s first-ever home playoff game. The Lions defeated the University of New England 1-0 in the game to advance to the CCC Semifinals for the first time.
