Tony Basso is entering his sixth season in the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Soccer program in 2015, including two seasons as the interim head coach in 2013 and 2014, while Jen Scanlon was on a two-year leave of absence from the program.

In his first season as the interim head coach in 2013, Basso helped the Sagehens set a new school record for wins in a season (13). Pomona-Pitzer finished second during the regular season in the SCIAC (tying for first heading into the season finale at Cal Lutheran) and hosted a conference tournament game for the first time.

Basso spent his previous three years as an assistant under Scanlon, starting in the fall of 2010. During that time, he has helped the Sagehens to a pair of SCIAC Tournament berths, tying for second in 2011 and finishing fourth in 2012, while advancing to the conference title game with an overtime upset win over top-seeded Cal Lutheran.
