Coaching in his 10th season with the Wisconsin mens soccer program in 2018, associate head coach Keith Tiemeyer has been instrumental in the Badgers success, taking UW to the NCAA tournament twice and to a Sweet 16 appearance in 2017.
He was named one of the nation's top assistant coaches by College Soccer News again in 2018 for the second time in his career for his role in UW's historic 2017 season. The Badgers won their first outright Big Ten Tournament title in program history while also advancing to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1995. Chris Mueller also became the first UW player to become a two-time All-American.
Tiemeyer and the Badgers became Big Ten Tournament Champions in 2017 after an incredible run, knocking off Michigan 4-0 in the semifinals and then defeating Indiana in penalty kicks, 4-2.
He earned the honor as one of the nations top assistant coaches first in 2013 after Tiemeyer was crucial in working with head coach John Trask that season to guide the Badgers to their first NCAA tournament berth in 18 years. Wisconsin won 14 games in 2013, the most wins for the program since it won the national championship in 1995.
For the first time in school history, Wisconsin had two top-10 selections and four overall draftees in the 2018 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. Tiemeyer was instrumental in the development of both No. 6 pick Chris Mueller and No. 9 pick Mark Segbers, as UW was the only school to have two players drafted in the top 10 of the first round that year. Tom Barlow was selected No. 39 in the second round to the New York Red Bulls and Mike Catalano was selected eighth in the third round by the Philadelphia Union.
Those were not the only pupils of Tiemeyer to be drafted in the first round though as standout AJ Cochran was the first Wisconsin player selected in the MLS SuperDraft since 2005 and the first player selected in the first round since Mike Gentile in 1995.

In his first season as a volunteer assistant coach, Tim Boruff proved his worth to the program as a goalkeepers coach.
Mentoring first-year starter Philipp Schilling, Boruff led the German-born goalie to one of the greatest marks in Badger history. Schilling had a stifling .72 goals-against average, which stands as second in Badger history. Schilling was also named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team for his stellar performance in the tournament.
Boruff also played a key role in the development of Casey Beyers. Beyers signed a professional contract with Orange County SC of the United Soccer League
Boruff spent the 2015 season as the goalkeepers coach at SIUE. While at SIUE, Boruff helped the Cougars capture the Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship. He worked with Kyle Dal Santo, who became an All-MVC goalkeeper and finished with the fifth-best goals against average in the country in 2015. Boruff and SIUE's coaching staff were recognized as the 2015 MVC Coaching Staff of the Year.
Prior to his time with SIUE, Boruff spent three years as an assistant coach at his alma mater Missouri-St. Louis. During his time there, USML advanced to the GLVC championship game. Both goalkeepers he mentored during his tenure became All-GLVC honorees. Additionally, in 2012, the Tritons set a school record for conference wins and finished the season 12-3-2.
Boruff played three seasons at Missouri-St. Louis. He recorded 203 saves during his career, which ranks seventh all-time in program history. Boruff also collected 11 career shutouts, which stands as the eighth most at UMSL. His career goals-against average ranks 10th all-time in school history.

Donovan Dowling joined the University of Louisville in July of 2018. He serves as the men's soccer assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
In his role as recruiting coordinator, Dowling has helped lead the charge on nationally ranked recruiting classes in each of his three seasons, including top-10 classes in 2020 (No. 6) and 2021 (No. 9).
Dowling helped Louisville to a 5-8-1 mark during the 2020 season, a year split between the fall and spring semesters due to COVID-19. Battling injuries, UofL went just 1-6-1 during the fall portion of the season, but rebounded in the spring and posted a 4-2-0 record and finished second in the ACC Atlantic Division. The Cardinals capped off the spring season with a 2-1 victory over No. 1 Clemson in the regular season finale. Elijah Amo (Real Salt Lake) and Lamine Conte (New York Red Bulls) were both selected in the MLS SuperDraft in January of 2021, and Jake Gelnovatch inked a professional deal with USL Championship club Memphis 901 FC.
In his second season at Louisville, Dowling helped the Cardinals produce a 10-8-2 record and earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Cardinals earned a pair of NCAA wins, including an upset of No. 14 UC Davis. Dowling helped guide goalkeeper Jake Gelnovatch to eight shutouts, third most in the ACC. Gelnovatch also earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career. Cherif Dieye was selected in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft by New York Red Bulls.
In his first season at Louisville, the Cards won their first ever ACC Championship title in 2018, earning the #4 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament before ending the season 11-5-3. The Cards also saw a number of individuals move on to the professional ranks with Tate Schmitt signing a Homegrown contract with Real Salt Lake (MLS), Adam Wilson was selected in the 2nd round of the MLS Draft by Toronto FC, and Geoffrey Dee signed a professional contract with Louisville City FC (USL).
Dowling arrived in Louisville following three seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he assisted in restarting the mens soccer program from scratch in 2015. While at UTGRV, Donovan served as the top assistant coach for three seasons where he was directly involved in numerous phases of the program, including recruiting, scouting, compliance, budgeting, travel, and academics. The Vaqueros showed notable improvement during the first three seasons increasing their win total each year, qualifying for the 2016 & 2017 WAC Tournament, and increasing their RPI each year ending 44th nationally.
In addition to his duties at UTRGV, Dowling also coached in the professional ranks as the goalkeeper coach with Rio Grande Valley FC of the USL Championship. In their inaugural season, RGVFC finished second in the USL Western Conference in 2016, qualifying for the USL Playoffs. Dowling worked under current Montreal Impact head coach Wilmer Cabrera in 2016 and under current LA Galaxy II head coach Junior Gonzalez in 2017. Overall, 11 players from RGVFC have signed MLS contracts since 2016.
Prior to helping restart the program at UTRGV, Dowling coached at Northeast Texas Community College, where he served as the head coach of the mens and womens soccer programs for two years. He led the mens team to a program-best 17-4-2 record in 2014, with a ranking as high as No. 4 in the nation en route to an NJCAA Tournament berth. For his efforts, Dowling was a finalist for National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Coach of the Year. In 2013, the mens team was one of the most improved teams in the NJCAA with a 14-7 record, compared to a 5-14-1 record the season prior to his arrival.
From 2011-12, Dowling helped start the first-ever mens soccer program at Fort Hays State University as an assistant coach. In 2011, the inaugural team finished 11-5-2, while receiving votes in the NSCAA Top 25 poll. In 2012, the team did one better, as Dowling helped lead the Tigers to an 11-6-2 record, along with the programs first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament, advancing all the way to the Sweet 16. The Tigers were ranked for the majority of the 2012 season, with a high of No. 9 in the nation.
Dowling coached from 2009-11 with the Fort Wayne Fever as the Director of Goalkeeping for the entire club, while also serving as the assistant coach for the 93 and 95 Fever boys teams. Both of his Fever teams were Indiana State Cup Finalists.
A goalkeeper, Dowling played collegiately at the NCAA Division I level at IPFW, where, as a two-year starter, he set program records for goals against average and shutouts in a season while earning All-Summit League honors. He played his first two collegiate seasons at Barton County Community College, where he was a Third Team All-American and First Team NSCAA All-Region and All-Conference honoree, leading his team to the No. 2 ranking in the nation while serving as the sophomore captain. A two-year starter, Dowling compiled a 39-4-2 record during his career.
A native of Olathe, Kansas, Dowling earned his bachelor of general studies from Indiana University and added a master of science in sports and human performance from Fort Hays State.

Chase Wileman, a former star at SMU and assistant coach at Dartmouth, is in his fourth year as an assistant on the Kentucky men's soccer coaching staff.
In Wileman's first three years at Kentucky the Wildcats have advanced to the NCAA Tournament each season and claimed the Conference USA Regular Season Championship in 2015. UK also earned its first NCAA Tournament top-16 seed in 2016.
Wileman, known as a tireless recruiter, plays a key role in training the team in addition to developing scouting reports and formulating the team's tactics.
A native of Grand Prairie, Texas, Wileman came to Kentucky after three years at Dartmouth (2011-13); where in 2011 he teamed with Cedergren in leading the Big Green to their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2011. In 2012, Wileman helped direct Dartmouth to a second-place finish in the Ivy League. Wileman served under head coaches Jeff Cook (2011-12) and Chad Riley (2013).
"We are excited to welcome Chase to the Kentucky soccer family," Cedergren said. "Having had the pleasure of working with Chase during the 2011 season at Dartmouth, I have seen first-hand the positive impact he brings to a program. Chase is a tireless worker, has great technical knowledge and will be a great asset in recruiting. He has impressive experience as a player, both collegiately and professionally, and will be a profound educator for our student-athletes."
"I am excited and humbled to get the chance to continue my career at Kentucky," Wileman said. "Having had the opportunity to work with Johan at Dartmouth, I knew that he would be a tremendous head coach and that he would be someone that I would want to work alongside. Johan, the staff and the UK administration are building something really special in Lexington and I am eager to come in and continue the progress that they've started. I just want to thank Johan, David Casper, Kevin Saal and Mitch Barnhart for the opportunity to assist in building one of the top programs in collegiate soccer."
In the three years prior to his arrival in Lexington, Wileman served as an assistant coach with the Big Green, including functioning as the lead assistant for the 2013 season. In 2011, his inaugural season on the coaching staff, serving under Cook and on the staff with Cedergren, Wileman helped lead the Big Green to their ninth Ivy League title and their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. He helped mentor Ivy League Player of the Year Lucky Mkosana and four Dartmouth standouts that earned All-Ivy League honors.
In 2012, with Cedergren departing to direct the Wildcats to their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2003, Wileman served as an assistant coach for Cook and helped lead the Big Green to a 9-7 record, including a 5-2 finish in Ivy League action.
Wileman came to Dartmouth in 2011 after serving extensively as a youth coach in the Dallas area. He coached on several North Texas ODP teams while earning a U.S. Soccer Federation "A" License.
Before starting his coaching career, Wileman played in Major League Soccer with FC Dallas from 2007-09, after a standout career with powerhouse SMU (2003-06). He was selected by Dallas in the supplemental draft in 2007 and he made his professional debut in a US Open Cup third-round game against Miami FC. He made his MLS debut during a 4-0 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy, registering an assist. In 2008, he was named reserve team MVP.
Wileman played four seasons at SMU, where he helped lead the Mustangs to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a berth in the College Cup in 2005. A team captain as a senior, Wileman scored 13 goals and tallied 18 assists to earn first-team Conference USA honors, also earning first-team National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Midwest Region honors during his collegiate career. As a junior, Wileman had a pair of goals and assists, adding an assist as a sophomore and two as a freshman. The 2015 campaign marked Bob Carlsons 19th season at the helm of the Carleton mens soccer program. The Knights have posted 16 winning seasons under Carlson. In comparison, Carleton posted only eight winning seasons in the 24 years prior to his arrival.
Over the last nine seasons, Carlson has led the Knights to five MIAC regular-season titles (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2012) and a trio of second-place finishes. Over that span, his squads own a 120-40-20 record (.722) and possess a .789 win percentage in MIAC matches.
The 2008 team captured the conferences post-season title as well as the programs first-ever trip to the NCAA Championships, where the Knights advanced to the Sweet Sixteen. The Knights made back-to-back NCAA Championship appearances in 2012 and 2013, the most recent trip coming after the Knights claimed the 2013 postseason crown. Bob Carlson was named the 2012 MIAC Coach-of-the-Year, marking the third time he received the honor.
With an overall ledger of 210-114-35 during his first 19 seasons at the helm, Carlson ranks first all-time at Carleton in both career victories and winning percentage (.634) among coaches with more than one season at the school. His tenure has been marked by consistent play and strong finishes in the MIAC, perennially one of the strongest men's soccer conferences in all of NCAA Division III. For the past 19 years his team has also earned NSCAA Team Academic awards, including three years in which the Knights posted the highest team grade point average in all of NCAA Division I, II and III.
A 1986 graduate of St. Olaf College, Carlson was a standout player for the Oles as a team captain, all-conference selection, and four-year letterwinner. He helped St. Olaf capture the 1984 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) crown and an NCAA tournament bid, the first-ever for a MIAC institution. As a coach, Carlson returned to Minnesota in 1991 as an assistant at Gustavus Adolphus College. During his four-year tenure there, the Gusties won two conference championships and earned two NCAA tournament bids.

St. Olaf
Division 3
Travis Wall is in his fourth season as the head men's soccer coach at St. Olaf in 2022-23. He was hired as St. Olaf's eighth head men's soccer coach on Dec. 18, 2018.
During his time at St. Olaf, Wall has led the Oles to a 43-18-3 (.695) record, including a 22-7-1 (.750) mark in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Oles have appeared in the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Tournament in each of the last two seasons, making the program one of just five NCAA Division III men's soccer programs in the country to accomplish that feat. Wall also guided St. Olaf to the 2021 MIAC regular-season title and the 2022 MIAC Playoffs title.
In 2022, St. Olaf advanced to the "Sweet 16" for the second-straight season after defeating Lake Forest College and No. 10 North Central College (Ill.) in the opening rounds before falling in a shootout. As the No. 2 seed in the MIAC Playoffs, the Oles blanked Bethel University, 3-0, in the semifinals before claiming their third tournament title with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at top-seeded and fifth-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College behind Robi Buzakovic's second goal of the game with 1:01 remaining. St. Olaf finished the season 15-5-2 overall and 7-2-1 in conference play, with three of its five losses coming to top-10 opponents. The Oles also went 9-0-0 at home, winning all of their home games for the fourth time in program history (first since 1998). The 2022 team had four All-MIAC honorees - including the Offensive Player of the Year (Shea Bechtel) and the Rookie of the Year (Robi Buzakovic) - to go with one Honorable Mention All-MIAC selection, 14 Academic All-MIAC honorees, six College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, four United Soccer Coaches All-Region IX selections, one United Soccer Coaches All-American, one United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region honoree, and the program's first-ever United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American.
In 2021, Wall led St. Olaf to arguably the most successful season in program history, as the Oles matched their deepest-ever run in the NCAA Tournament by advancing to the "Sweet 16." St. Olaf set a new single-season program record for wins in a season by finishing 19-3-1 and the 19 victories also were tied for the most of any team in the country in NCAA Division III. The Oles became just the fifth team in the history of the MIAC to go 10-0 in conference play on their way to winning the fourth outright (seventh overall) MIAC regular-season championship in program history. After leading St. Olaf to the historic season, Wall was named the MIAC Coach of the Year by his peers and he and assistant coaches Justin Oliver and Ben Braman were named the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Region IX Coaching Staff of the Year at the end of the season.
St. Olaf tied the program's longest unbeaten streak with a 16-game streak where the Oles went 15-0-1 from Sept. 12 through Nov. 3, which included a record-tying 15-straight wins from Sept. 15 through Nov. 3. After not being ranked since 2015, the Oles spent six weeks in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25, peaking at No. 10 in the country twice, which was the program's highest ranking since 2011. St. Olaf concluded the season ranked No. 15, marking the joint-highest year-end ranking in program history in the poll. The Oles were also ranked in the D3soccer.com Top 25 in five-straight polls, wrapping up the season at No. 12.
For the first time in program history, St. Olaf had two United Soccer Coaches All-America honorees in the same season, as sophomore Victor Gaulmin was named to the first team and sophomore Hakeem Morgan earned a spot on the second team. The duo were two of only five sophomores nation-wide to be named All-Americans and made St. Olaf one of 11 programs in the country with multiple All-Americans. Gaulmin and Morgan were also two of four Oles to be United Soccer Coaches All-Region honorees and were two of the program's three first-team selections. St. Olaf also had a program record and conference-record-tying six All-MIAC honorees in 2021, including the league's Midfielder of the Year (Victor Gaulmin) and Rookie of the Year (Shea Bechtel).
In his first season on the Hill, Wall led the Oles to their first appearance in the MIAC Playoffs since 2015, as St. Olaf finished 9-10 overall and 5-5 in the MIAC. Under his guidance, St. Olaf had five student-athletes earn All-MIAC or Honorable Mention All-MIAC honors, which was the highest total for the program since 1993. The Oles were picked eighth in the MIAC Preseason Coaches' Poll but defeated three teams picked ahead of them to return to the MIAC Playoffs and post the program's highest win total and MIAC win total since 2015.
After the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the fall 2020 season, St. Olaf played eight exhibition contests in the spring of 2021 and St. Olaf went 4-2-2 in those eight games with wins over Augsburg, Bethel, St. Thomas, and Concordia-Moorhead.
A former NCAA Division III National Player of the Year, Wall came to St. Olaf after four seasons on the staff at his alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan University, under Jay Martin, the winningest coach in NCAA men's soccer history. After joining Martin's staff in 2015 as an assistant coach, Wall was promoted to associate head coach in April 2017 and also served as the recruiting coordinator for the Battling Bishops.
In Wall's four seasons on the coaching staff at Ohio Wesleyan, the Battling Bishops posted a combined record of 51-21-9 (.685), including a mark of 25-5-6 (.778) in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Ohio Wesleyan made three NCAA Tournament appearances and advanced to the NCAC Tournament title game three times in his four seasons on staff.
Wall also served as Ohio Wesleyan's camp director, recruiting coordinator, travel coordinator and assisted in the development of training plans. He recruited the 2016, 2017 and 2018 NCAC Freshmen of the Year and also coached the NCAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in 2015.
As a student-athlete at Ohio Wesleyan, Wall was a two-time NSCAA First Team All-American (2010, 2011) and was named the NSCAA National Player of the Year after captaining the Battling Bishops to the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship, with Wall scoring in each of the team's final four games in the NCAA Tournament. As a senior, Wall finished fifth in the country in points (53), ninth in goals (19) and fourth in assists (15) as a member of the third-highest-scoring team in the country.
Over his four-year career at Ohio Wesleyan, Wall's teams went a combined 78-11-5 (.856), as he finished his career in the program's top-five in goals (49), assists (36) and points (134). Following his career, Wall was named to the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Soccer All-Decade Team (2003-12). During his sophomore season, Wall started all 22 games for the team that boasted the statistically-best defense in the country, allowing just six goals in over 2,000 minutes to lead the country in shutout percentage (.773) and goals-against average (0.27).
Wall went on to play professional soccer for Minnesota United FC (formerly Minnesota Stars FC) of the North American Soccer League (NASL) from April 2012 to January 2014, after spending preseason with the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer (MLS).
Wall's coaching career started at the University of St. Thomas, where he was an assistant coach during the 2012 and 2013 seasons, helping guide the Tommies to a record of 21-9-7 (.662). There, he assisted with all facets of the program and designed and implemented offseason cardio programs.
In 2014, Wall served as the Director of Soccer Operations at Division I Xavier University, as the Musketeers advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. At Xavier, he worked with the 2014 BIG East Staff of the Year during a season that saw the Musketeers set program records for wins, shutouts and goals-against average.
Wall also carries three seasons of high-level club coaching experience as the head coach of the U19 Ohio Premier Soccer Club Green team and was named the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Midwest Regional Coach of the Year. In 2018, he led the team to the U19 Elite National Premier League (ENPL) National Championship with a team that had eight members sign to play at Division I programs, including Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) National Player of the Year Luke Kiley. The team finished in fifth place at US Youth Soccer (USYS) Nationals in 2017 and was a semifinalist in 2016.
Wall graduated from Ohio Wesleyan in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts and went on to earn his Master's in recreation and sport sciences from Ohio University in June 2016. In 2017, Wall obtained his C License from U.S. Soccer Federation. His older siblings, Tyler and Sarah, were both three-time All-America selections in soccer at Ohio Wesleyan.

I have numerous years of coaching soccer in club soccer, as well as collegiate. I use my past experience as a player and knowledge from USSF courses to create a unique way of coaching. I pride myself in developing players at all levels in a fun yet effective way.
I became the winningest coach in the history of Eureka College men's soccer program and have directed steady improvement for the Eureka men's soccer program since my arrival in 2014. The Red Devils shattered the program record for wins in a season with in 2015. EC continued its momentum in 2016 with a seven-win campaign. A 1-0 victory over Rockford at Traister Field on Sept. 13, 2016 was the 11th of Barker's career at EC, moving him in front of Randy Crady (2007-10) and J.L. Zapushek (2010-12) for the most wins by a head coach in program history.
Additionally, the Red Devils earned a 3-2 win over longtime SLIAC powerhouse Principia on Oct. 22, EC's first win in 11 tries against the Panthers. Eureka also earned a 0-0 double-overtime draw versus Greenville at Traister Field on Oct. 25, ending a 12-match losing streak in the all-time series between the two schools.
