Kulas contributions to player development both on and off the field have been substantial. He has guided 21 student-athletes to All-Conference distinction and nine to NSCAA regional awards. In the classroom, Hawks mens soccer student-athletes have combined for the highest grade point average among its America East peers in three of the last four years. While at Green Bay, Kulas helped pilot the team to four-straight Horizon League tournament appearances, including a historic season in 2009 that saw the program earn its first-ever tournament championship coupled with an NCAA Division I Tournament appearance, the first in 26 years. In 2007, his impact aided the Phoenix in returning to the Horizon League championship game as the former college defender helped Green Bay set a team record with 12 shutouts in a single season.
Kulas got his collegiate coaching career started with a stint at Assumption College in 2004. Serving as an assistant womens soccer coach with the Greyhounds, he helped direct the team to its first-ever berth in the NCAA Division II New England Regional Tournament that season. Following that appointment, Kulas served one season as an assistant to the Hawks womens soccer team under current head coach John Natale before returning to Worcester, Mass., when he was named head coach of Assumptions mens soccer program.

James C. Gentle Head Coach [Brian Gill](https://pennathletics.com/staff.aspxstaff=161) has announced the hiring of Dan Scheck as a volunteer assistant coach for the Quakers, focusing on the goalkeeper unit for the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer program. Scheck will join Gill and assistant coaches [Peter Lowry](https://pennathletics.com/staff.aspxstaff=162) and [Jonathan Delano](https://pennathletics.com/staff.aspxstaff=363) for the 2018 season.
"We are really excited to have Dan join our program for this upcoming season. He is a young, ambitious coach who, along with the rest of the coaching staff, will help to further develop the student-athletes in our program here at Penn. On a daily basis, Dan will help assist with all aspects of our program, but will spend a bulk of his time working to develop our goalkeeper corps. Having attended and played his college soccer at nearby Temple, Dan has a good feel for the dynamic here in Philadelphia and has a firm understanding of the Penn community. See what people are saying about EXACT!
Player
I wanted to let you know I committed to a school (Illinois Institute of Technology) and also thank you for the experience your camp gave me. I participated in 3 of your camps (freshman / sophomore / junior year of HS) and I in each one I learned something different. Although I didn't meet the coach from the school I am going during one of your camps, it is was because of the tools your camp gave me I was confident and knowledgeable enough to go through the process.
Before coming to your camp I didn't know where I would fit, but I knew I wanted to play in college. It was only through the interactions with coaches in your camp where I got a clear and honest picture of what my best bets were and provided me with the tools to navigate the process.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you and affirm what you probably already know which is you are doing a great job.
