EXACT Golden Glove Keeper

Commits to Syracuse University

Andres Quevedo, stands with Camp Director,  Simon Clements, after winning the Golden Glove at the EXACT Soccer Southwest Academic 50 ID camp. The Golden Glove award is a prestigious honor given to the best goalkeeper camp.

Here's how it went down.

The summer of 2018 was a hugely successful one for Andres Quevedo, senior goalkeeper from Dallas, Texas. After coming of a great club season with FC Dallas, Andres decided to attend the EXACT Soccer Academic 50 ID Camp to gain more exposure and network with coaches.

Andres stood out right away. He clearly had all the pieces to play at the Division 1 level: the size, the reflexes, the athleticism, etc. But, according to coaches at camp, what stood out the most was his attitude. He was not only a tenacious goalkeeper, but also a dedicated and attentive young man.

"He's extremely coachable," one coach remarked to the EXACT Staff.  He not only won the Golden Glove award for the Best Overall Goalkeeper at camp, but his tournament team also went on to win the coveted EXACT Cup. And frankly, with Andres between the pipes, we weren't the least bit surprised.

By the end of camp, Andres had attracted the interest of many coaches on the staff, including Andrew Coughlin, from Syracuse University. After a series of conversations with the Syracuse coaching staff, Andres gave his verbal commitment in the beginning of September. He looks forward to making it official on National Signing Day this upcoming February.

Congratulations, Andres!
