Rob Thompson joined the Clemson mens soccer program prior to the 2017 season. Prior to coming to Clemson, Thompson was heavily involved in coaching both youth and college soccer in New Hampshire since 1993.

Thompson spent 24 years coaching at Seacoast United Soccer Club (SUSC), New Hampshires premier youth sports club. He most recently served as the College Recruiting Coordinator and Director of premier HS age teams in the club. This past year, he coached two Seacoast teams to state titles. Both the 2000 girls NPL team and the 2004 boys NPL team won the US Club NH State Championship. His 2004 boys NPL team advanced to the US Club national championship tournament.

Thompson spent 20 years as the head coach of mens soccer at University of New Hampshire. Thompson is currently UNHs all-time wins leader, and he was honored as America East Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2009. His Wildcats won an America East regular season title in 2009, and their undefeated conference regular season record of 6-0-1 in that same year was the first by any America East team since 1997. He led UNH to conference semi-finals six times (2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013) and advanced to America East conference title games in 2010 and 2012, dropping both in penalty kick shootouts after drawing 0-0 both times. UNH squads were nationally ranked in 1993, 1994, 1997 and 2005. His teams led the America East conference in best discipline record 14 out of 15 years, and they finished in the top three in national Division I NSCAA fair play rankings three times (2009, 2012, 2013). His program had a record eight straight NSCAA team academic awards from 2007-2014.

Thompson was named US Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) Regional Coach of the Year in 2008. He led the Seacoast United U18 Academy Team to its only USSDA playoff berth in club history in 2011. He coached the Seacoast United U17 boys team to the USL Super Y League championship match in 2007, and that same team went to the USYSA Region 1 final in 2007, finishing with a No. 8 national ranking. From 1998 to 2006, he led Seacoast United youth teams to eight New Hampshire state USYSA titles. He was also a member of the USYSA Region 1 Olympic Development Staff from 1994 to 2007.

By coming to Clemson, Thompson is reuniting with head coach Mike Noonan, as the two coached together at UNH in 1993 and 1994. During that two-year span, the Wildcats were nationally ranked and had the best two-year win percentage in UNH history. The duo also coached UNH to its only NCAA tournament appearance in program history.  While Thompson's been at Clemson, the Tigers have achieved national rankings each season while winning an ACC regular season division title in 2019 , 2020, and 2021 and the ACC tournament championship in 2020, finishing the fall as the #1 ranked team in the nation.  2021 culminated in Clemson winning their third National Championship.

Justin Cook

Head coach Mark Berson announced on March 27, 2017, the hiring of Justin Cook as an assistant coach for the men's soccer program at the University of South Carolina. Cook joins the Gamecocks after 10 seasons (2007-16) as an assistant coach at Tulsa.



"Justin joins us from the University of Tulsa where he has consistently brought in outstanding recruiting classes and assisted in helping TU put an outstanding team on the field each year," said Berson, "He has an outstanding pedigree as a player at Ohio State, where he was one of only two players in history to earn both Big Ten freshman of the year honors and then Big Ten player of the Year honors as a senior."



Cook most recently served as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator for the Golden Hurricane. While with Tulsa, he was a part of eight NCAA Tournament teams, three American Athletic Conference Tournament Championships (2014-16), four C-USA Tournament Championships (2007-09) and three C-USA Regular Season Championships. In their eight NCAA berths with Cook, the Golden Hurricane advanced to the second round four times (2007-08, 10, 15), the third round once (2012) and the NCAA Quarterfinals once (2009). In 2010, the program received a school-best No. 2 national ranking. The program compiled a 117-60-25 (.683 pct) record overall during Cook's time there.



While with Tulsa, Cook recruited three MAC Hermann Trophy candidates, three All-Americans, five academic All-Americans, three C-USA Players of the Year, two C-USA Defensive Players of the Year, 28 all-conference selections and one member of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Men's Soccer Team.



Cook had a highly decorated career as a player as well. He was inducted into the 2015 Ohio State University Athletics Hall of Fame after earning Big Ten All-Conference honors four times. He was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2000 and the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2004. He was selected 51st overall in the 2005 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. Cook is a native of Orlando, Fla. He and his wife Stefanie have three children - two daughters, Piper and Riley - and a son, Gavin.

Wake Forest head men's soccer coach Bobby Muuss announced the hiring of Matt Poplawski as the program's new Volunteer Assistant Coach prior to the 2017 season. He enters his second year in 2018.

In his first year in Winston-Salem, he helped the Deacs to a 19-2-2 overall record and 7-0-1 mark in the ACC. By winning the ACC Championship, Wake Forest became the first team in the league to finish the ACC regular season and Championship undefeated since 1999. The Deacs were rewarded with ACC Offensive Player of the Year (Jon Bakero) and Defensive Player of the Year (Kevin Politz) honors, as each was also named an All-American.

Poplawski is part of a staff which earned the United Soccer Coaches Region Staff of the Year honors in 2017. He helped coach MAC Hermann Trophy winner Jon Bakero and CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year winner Kevin Politz, who became two of the seven Deacons to head to the MLS ranks following the season.

Poplawski joined the Demon Deacons from Penn, where he was a 2017 graduate of the Wharton School of Business, and a two-sport varsity athlete.

On the pitch, Poplawski was a two-time All-Ivy League honoree and two-year team captain. He also played basketball for two seasons, appearing in 17 games.

Josh Oldroyd

Josh Oldroyd began as an assistant coach with the Kentucky men's soccer team in Spring 2018.

Were excited to welcome Coach Oldroyd to the Big Blue Nation, Cedergren said. Josh has a proven track record of developing college soccer players at a high level, and we look forward to his contributions starting with our preparations for the 2018 season.

Oldroyd joins the UK staff after spending the past two season at Evansville, where the Purple Aces went a combined 21-16-5 the past two seasons.

I cant wait to get started here at UK, Oldroyd said. I want to thank Coach Cedergren and the UK administration for this opportunity. Ive been an admirer of the UK program for some time now and look forward to helping our guys do the work and get the results to take the next steps.
 
At Evansville, his main duties involved training the team's goalkeepers as well as working with the overall defensive strategy and scouting.
 
He worked at Lindsey Wilson College prior to joining the Evansville staff. There, he helped the Blue Raiders to a NAIA National Tournament berth in 2016.
 
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Oldroyd enjoyed a stellar playing career at Bryan College in the NAIA. The Leeds, England, native was a three-time all-league honoree, capping his senior season with the Appalachian Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year award. In his time in with the Lions, he helped the team claim both a regular season and tournament crown.
 
Before his move to the U.S., Oldroyd spent time with Altofts FC in West Yorkshire, England, as well, and played a part in the club's U19 squad lifting the Northern Alliance Premier League title in 2011. He also competed with the Leeds United FC academy as well as with NEW College Pontefract.

Eric Klenofsky

Eric Klenofsky completed his fourth and final year as a professional soccer player for Toronto FC II in 2020. Following the conclusion of his playing career, Klenofsky accepted the position as the Goalkeeper Coach / Assistant Coach for the University of South Florida Men's Soccer program and will now call Tampa Bay, Florida home. 

Klenofsky was drafted 34th overall in the 2017 Major League Soccer (MLS) Superdraft and has played for clubs throughout the MLS, the United Soccer League (USL) and overseas such as Toronto FC II, DC United, RedBull New York, Richmond Kickers and Tacoma Defiance (Seattle Sounders 2nd Team) and Hapoel Marmorek. He studied Communications with a minor in Sports Communication at Monmouth University to complete his undergraduate studies and is currently undertaking a Sport and Exercise Psychology graduate program at Staffordshire University (UK) to complete his masters degree. 

Eric has earned various coaching licenses throughout the United States and Canada and has previously served as the goalkeeper coach for NCAA DI, Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Ricky Davey

Ricky Davey joined the Georgia State men's soccer program as an assistant coach in the spring of 2018 following a one-year stint at Francis Marion.

Despite a once in 100-year pandemic, Davey helped lead the 2020 squad to a 9-2-2 record, including a 5-0 start which was the best in school history. The Panthers earned a sixth-consecutive trip to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship the first team in league history to accomplish the feat before falling in penalty kicks to Coastal Carolina.

In 2019, Davey helped lead the Panthers to their fifth consecutive trip to the Sun Belt Tournament Championship before falling just shy of earning a second straight Sun Belt title and trip to the NCAA Tournament after a loss in PKs to Coastal Carolina. During the regular season, he helped coach Georgia State to a 6-0-3 start to the year, setting a program record for most matches to start a season without a loss.
 
In his first year at Georgia State, Davey was a part of a coaching staff that guided GSU to the 2018 NCAA Tournament after claiming its first Sun Belt Conference regular season and conference tournament championship in program history. During the regular season, the team put together a six-game winning streak -- a feat that had not been accomplished by the program in over 30 years and finished undefeated in conference play for the first time since 1989. Under the direction of Davey and the rest of the coaching staff, seven student-athletes earned All-Conference honors, the most among all teams in the Sun Belt.  

Prior to his time with the Patriots, Davey served as the graduate assistant coach at Le Moyne College from 2015-2016, where he also earned a masters degree in education. During his two seasons with the Dolphins, Le Moyne posted a combined 26-11-3 record and made two appearances in the NCAA Division II national tournament.

He also served as an assistant coach at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2014, a year that saw the Chargers go 13-4-2.

Davey has experience working with the Syracuse (NY) Development Academy and the Huntsville (AL) Football Club. He spent one season as head varsity boys' soccer coach at Grissom High School in Huntsville.

He earned his undergraduate degree in nutrition from the University of Montevallo in 2014. In his three seasons with the Falcons, he tallied 16 goals and 20 assists. Davey was named to the Peach Belt All-Conference team once, earned PBC Tournament MVP honors in 2013, was twice named NSCAA All-Region, and helped Montevallo to a pair of conference titles and two NCAA tournament appearances.

Davey played at Appalachian State for one season in 2010 before transferring to Montevallo.

Following his collegiate career, he played several years in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) with the Rocket City United (Huntsville, Ala.), the Birmingham (AL) Hammers, and the Rochester (NY) RiverDogz.
He represented England at the U18 level against Scotland in 2008 and played and trained with the Yeovil Town Football Club (England) and the Orgyte Futbol Club (Sweden).

Davey possesses a USSF D License and a National Diploma and an Advanced National Diploma, GK Level 1&2 from the NSCAA. 

In the spring of 2019, Davey received his Premier Diploma from United Soccer Coaches, the organization's highest technical award. 

Brandon Tucker

Former Colorado Rapids forward Brandon Tucker joined the Furman staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2017 season.

Brandon Tucker will be a great addition to our staff, said Paladin head coach Doug Allison. He has played for and coached with Coach Boulware and was a tremendous player with the Region IV team, Presbyterian and as a professional. His experience as a college coach and as a player at the professional level will make him a great fit for Furman.

Tucker, a native of Englewood, Colo., played his college soccer for Paladin assistant coach Bret Boulware at Presbyterian College before serving as assistant coach from 2009-11 and as associate head coach for the Blue Hose from 2012-13. He earned All-South Atlantic Conference honors and NSCAA All-Region accolades three times during his playing career. As a coach, he helped Presbyterian transition into NCAA Division I soccer.

This past season, Tucker helped lead the Paladins to an 11-7-1 overall record and the program's league record 20th Southern Conference regular season title with a 5-1-0 mark. Furman placed seven players on All-Southern Conference teams, including in the inclusion of Rocky Guerra, Cole McLagan and Jack Shiels on the first team.

In second season since returning to the Paladin program, Furman posted a 13-7-2 record, claimed its 14th Southern Conference Tournament crown and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after edging UNCW in an opening-round penalty shootout. Laurence Wyke, the SoCon Tournament's Most outstanding Player, joined league goalkeeper of the year Ben Hale in earning first team All-SoCon honors.

In his first season at Furman, Tucker helped the Paladins to a 12-5-3 overall record and a 5-2-3 Southern Conference mark. The Paladins made a return to the national rankings on the strength of a six-match winning streak that included a triumph over then No. 4-ranked Denver. Junior Laurence Wyke garnered SoCon Player of the Year honors and United Soccer Coaches All-South Region accolades.

A 2010 inductee into the Colorado Soccer Hall of Fame, Tucker played for the Colorado Rapids in 2008 and 2009. He also played professionally for the Denver Dragons of the Premier Arena Soccer League.

I am truly thankful to Doug Allison for the opportunity to join the Furman Mens Soccer staff, said Tucker. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Allison and the very successful program he has built. Making the decision to get back into coaching after being away for four years was something that took a lot of reflection, but after meeting the team and knowing the history behind the program with the ability for me to learn from one of the best in college soccer made my decision that much easier. Along with building new relationships with alumni and the Furman community, I am looking forward to working with my longtime coach, friend and mentor Bret Boulware. My family and I are eager to join the Furman University family and I am excited for the future of Furman Mens Soccer.

Since 2002, Tucker has served as a head coach and administrator with COEVER, Colorados premier soccer training academy.

Tucker graduated from Presbyterian College in 2007 with a degree in business administration and a concentration in management. He and his wife Anastashia are the parents of three children, Skie, Harper, and Sawyer.

Nico Luque

Nico Luque is in his second season as the associate head coach for the USC Upstate mens soccer program.

Luque joined Upstate in 2017 after serving as the assistant coach for Concordia University in Seward, Neb. for three seasons. He helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2015 Great Plains Athletic Conference championship, marking the first time in program history Concordia had won a conference title and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament. The Bulldogs appeared in another GPAC championship game in 2016.

He began his coaching career at his alma mater, Southern Wesleyan, in 2013 and won the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) South Region and National Championship. Luque also assisted with Coerver SC and CASA on the club level.

A native of Bogota, Colombia, Luque grew up playing soccer at the professional academy of Millonarios FC where he competed until appearing on the reserves team.

He moved to the United States to play soccer at Southern Wesleyan from 2009-13. He served as team captain his final three seasons and was a four-year starter. Luque earned Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) and NCCAA recognitions as a senior. He also played and coached for Upward Stars, a National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) team out of Spartanburg.

Since 2017, Luque has been the head coach of the U-12 and U-13 Carolina FC club teams. Luque was also the head coach for the U18 elite boys team that won the State Cup and Region Premier League Piedmont Conference Championship in 2018.

Luque received his Bachelor of Science in psychology from Southern Wesleyan with a minor in coaching. He later received his MBA with an emphasis in leadership from Concordia in 2016, as well as a Master of Science in athletic administration with an emphasis in collegiate athletics in 2017.

Sean Brennan

Brennan is entering his first season at High Point University after being named assistant coach in the winter of 2020.
 
Brennan joins HPU after spending the past four seasons as head coach at University of Mount Olive (NCAA DII). In 2018, Brennan led UMO to its first winning season in 11 years and made it to the Conference Carolinas Championship match for the first time since 2004.

The Trojans were recipients of the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award every year under Brennan's guidance.
 
Prior to his time at UMO, Brennan spent five seasons at UNC Pembroke. After four years as an assistant coach, Brennan was promoted to associate head coach in 2015. The Braves posted a combined 23-10-4 record during his first two years and advanced to the Round of 16 in the 2012 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament. UNCP was ranked as high as No. 15 in the nation and No. 2 in the Southeast Region in 2012 (2011) and 2013 (2012).
 
A player for Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C., from 2004-07, Brennan earned USA South All-Conference and All-Tournament selections during his senior season, is currently seventh all-time for saves in a season (88).
 
He holds a National Goalkeeping Diploma, a National Coaching Diploma and an Advanced National Coaching Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). He also worked as the Director of Coaching for the Fayetteville Force Soccer Club in Fayetteville, N.C. (2008-January 2016) While at the Fayetteville Force Soccer Club Brennan was a part of sending more than 40 players to College and Universities all over the country as student-athletes. He has overseen teams complete in nine Kepner State Cup final fours and five champions (one team to a final four and one championship personally in 2009 and 2010.
 
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing with a concentration in sports management from Methodist University in December of 2008. He completed his masters degree in marketing from Southern New Hampshire in 2014 and currently resides in Fayetteville with his wife, Lauren, son, Callum, and dog, Jack.

Jacob Weinshank

Jacob Weinshank joined the North Florida men's soccer staff as a volunteer coach in Summer 2018 while also serving as a staff coach at Jacksonville Armada FC. Weinshank was promoted to assistant coach at North Florida in the Spring of 2019.

Weinshank comes to UNF after serving as a college assistant men's soccer coach at Maine Maritime Academy in 2017-18. He also worked as a Head Coach and Assistant Director at Seacoast United Maine. Additionally, Weinshank was the Head Coach of the University of Maine Men's Club Soccer team (2016-17) and the Director of the Soccer Program for Camp Skylemar in Naples, Maine from 2013-15.

A 2015 graduate of Salve Regina University with a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology, Weinshank was a four-year starter on the men's soccer team. Weinshanks brace in the 2012 conference final helped lead Salve Regina to the 2012 NCAA DIII Tournament and earned him the Offensive Player of the Tournament in the 2012 Commonwealth Coast Conference playoffs. He garnered the Commonwealth Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award (2014) and was selected a NSCAA All-East Region Scholar.
 
Weinshank graduated with a Masters degree from the University of Maine in 2017. He holds the United States Soccer Federation National C License.

Douglas Oliveira

Douglas Oliveira joined the Liberty men's coaching staff as an assistant coach during the fall of 2020.

Oliveira has served as an assistant coach the past two seasons with the Mississippi Brilla FC. Based in Clinton, Miss., the soccer ministry and USL-2 team is Mississippi's only Premier Development League (PDL) franchise and performs ongoing inner-city work through its Urban Soccer Project. Also while working on his master's degree in human performance at Liberty, Oliveira served as the Flames team manager from Feb. 2019 through May 2020.

The Campinas, Brazil native played two collegiate seasons at Indiana Wesleyan and two collegiate seasons at John Brown. The Wildcats' center back, he was part of Indiana Wesleyan's NCCAA National runner-up squad in 2017. In addition, he played for the PDL's Charlotte Eagles from 2016-18. In 2017, he was named to the All-Eastern Conference team, as the Eagles won the PDL title.

Oliveira graduated from Indiana Wesleyan with a bachelor's degree in exercise science with a minor in coaching. He earned a master's degree in human performance with a strength and conditioning cognate from Liberty in May of 2020.

Nick Regan joins the VMI Mens Soccer Coaching Staff for the 2020-2021 season. Regan is originally from Yateley, United Kingdom, but did his collegiate studies in the United States. Nick played at North Iowa Area Community College, where he was part of the Mens Soccer team from 2008-2010. Nick graduated with his Associates Degree in 2010. Regan went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management from Devry University. While studying at Devry, Nick played a season with the Orlando City S.C. U23 team. Nick received a MBA from Purdue University in 2020. He also has playing experience for Fleet Town F.C. (UK) from 2005-2008. 


Nick works predominantly with the programs attackers and goalkeepers and has  a United Soccer Coaches Pre-National Diploma.

Cameron Sauro

Sauro joins FIU after spending the 2019 campaign with East Tennessee State University (ETSU), where he served as an assistant coach for the Buccaneers men's soccer program.
 
During his time as an assistant at ETSU, Sauro worked primarily with the goalkeeper unit and was responsible for the mentorship of goalkeeper Josh Perryman who was named 2019 Southern Conference (SoCon) Goalkeeper of the Year and selected to the All-SoCon First Team. Under Sauro's guidance, the Buccaneers' defense ranked best in SoCon in the categories of goals-against and goals-against-average. In addition to his responsibilities on the pitch, Sauro helped successfully recruit nine players to ETSU while also serving as the head of operations, logistics, and opposition analysis.
 
Before arriving at ETSU, Sauro spent the 2018 campaign as a graduate assistant coach with the women's soccer program at Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU). Sauro was heavily involved in all aspects of the program including executing training sessions, recruiting, academic affairs, match day preparation, organizing team camps, social media, and various logistical duties. Sauro was instrumental in helping SMSU improve its win total by three wins from the 2017 to 2018 season, while actively assisting in the recruitment of 12 players for the fall of 2019. As head of the program's academic affairs, Sauro helped the team achieve a GPA of 3.55 for the 2018 fall semester. Sauro also worked individually with Alli Miskowiec, mentoring her to an All-Conference Third Team selection in 2018.
 
Prior to landing at SMSU, Sauro served as the goalkeeper coach at The 705 Academy in Alliston, Ontario, Canada. Sauro also served as an assistant U12 soccer coach at Barrie SC in Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

Sauro began his coaching career as a volunteer goalkeeper coach during youth camps at his alma mater King University (KU).
 
Before transitioning to the coaching ranks, Sauro played collegiately at KU where he was a four-year standout from 2012-2016 and a team captain for his final two seasons. Sauro was a two-time academic all-conference selection and held a 1.72 GAA with 74 saves in 27 career games with the Tornado.
 
Sauro holds a U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) 'D' License, a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 2 Diploma, and is currently working to acquire his USSF 'C' License. Sauro obtained his Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from SMSU in 2019, and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from KU in 2016.
 
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Sauro resides in Miramar, Florida with his fiancée Haley.

Tony Pacella

Tony Pacella enters his seventh season as the Sewanee Head Men's Soccer Coach.

Posting a 44-54-8 career record, Pacella has coached 19 All-Conference selections and 78 to the SAA Academic Honor Roll. In 2016, his team earned the United Soccer Coaches (USC; formerly the National Soccer Coaches Athletic Association) Team Academic Award. 

The 2019 campaign for Sewanee was a masterful one for Pacella and the program. The team's 11 overall wins and five conference dubs are each the highest in the Pacella-era. Sewanee's 11-5-1 record is one of the best finishes for the program since 2004. Additionally, the No. 3 seed the Tigers secured in the SAA Tournament ties a conference-best. 

Pacella also earned recognition from the coaches as he was named the SAA Coach of the Year for the first time in the history of the conference and the first since 2001.

Sewanee captured five All-SAA selections, the most the Tigers have placed on an All-Conference Team since the SAA was formed in 2012. Additionally, two were named All-Region. 

The success did not stop on the pitch, as a program-best 17 athletes were named to the SAA Academic Honor Roll, with two players were listed on the USC Scholar All-Region First Team laurels. 
 

Gabriel Chapman

Gabriel Chapman is an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the men's soccer team at Oglethorpe University. He returned to the program in early 2020 after previously spending three seasons as an assistant coach with the Stormy Petrels from 2013 to 2016.

He has experience coaching soccer to boys and girls of all ages at college, club/select, ODP and high school levels. He is currently also the boys varsity head coach at Roswell High School and boys U17 coach at UFA - Metro Atlanta.

He holds the UEFA B License, which he obtained in Barcelona, Spain, as well as Level 1 and Level 2 badges from the English FA, the USSF "B" License and the NSCAA Premier Diploma. In 2012, he worked as a translator at the International Soccer Congress in Malaga, Spain. A lover of travel and languages, he has also spent time working in and observing soccer in Spain, England, Portugal and Italy: Barcelona (Club Natació Terrassa), Málaga CF, West Bromwich Albion, FC Porto and Chievo Verona. He is fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese. 

A native of Sandy Springs, he played club soccer at Concorde Fire and then went on to attend Georgia Tech where he played on the club soccer team.

He was a terrific defender for the Panthers from 2016-19. LaGrange qualified for the USA South Tournament in three-straight seasons from 2017-19. He earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from LaGrange in 2020.

Alex Buchman

Alex Buchman joined the Piedmont College men's soccer program as an Assistant Coach in the spring of 2018 working under Head Coach Jimmy Stephens. Buchman joined the Piedmont staff after serving as an Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2017.

Buchman helped guide the Warhawks to a 10-6-4 record in 2017. The Warhawks posted eight shutouts as the team posting a 1.14 goals against average.

Buchman's primary responsibilities were working with the team and goalkeepers in training sessions, building a continuous recruit database, and helping administrate an annual 8v8 summer league. He also helped market soccer camps and generate fundraising initiatives.

He was a goalkeeper for the UW-Whitewater men's soccer team from 2013-2015 posting a 0.94 career goals against average and named Co-Most Valuable Player in 2015. The honor came after posting a 14-4-2 record with six shutouts as the starting keeper. He shut out Rose-Hulman (Ind.) in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament as the Warkhawks reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Buchman's last two seasons with the team.

He was also a three-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Warhawk Leadership Academy, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Buchman also served as an assistant girls soccer coach at his alma mater, Waterford Union High School, for three seasons (2014-16).

He also worked with the Milwaukee Brewers during the 2016 season as a Brew Crew Member running as a sausage mascot in the famous Sausage race. Other responsibilities included in his time with the Brew Crew were supervising the Kid's Zone, dancing on the dugout during the 7th inning stretch, and making appearances in the greater Milwaukee area.

Buchman is a 2015 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (general management). He also recently graduated from UW-Whitewater with a master's degree in professional development (higher education leadership).

Buchman is originally from Waterford, Wisconsin and will assist Stephens in all facets of the Lions soccer program.

Tim Starr

I am humbled and excited to join Emmanuel College and driven to build EC Men's Soccer to compete at the highest level on and off the field while creating an impactful experience to equip student-athletes to impact the world for Christ, says Starr.



Starr comes to Emmanuel after serving as the Head Coach at Malone University of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
During his time at Malone, he helped the program reach milestones that they had never seen before. Starr helped guide the Pioneers to their first-ever Great Midwest Athletic Conference playoff appearance in program history. In Starrs only full season at the program's helm, he led them to the highest overall win percentage of a season since 2011, a five-game unbeaten streak in conference play, and All-Conference performing athletes.



Before Malone, Starr spent three seasons as the Head Coach of Sheridan College, in Sheridan, Wyoming, from 2016-2019. Starr led this program to new heights as well, guiding the Generals to their first winning season in school history and a berth in the NJCAA Region IX Tournament. In three seasons as head coach, Starr turned around the Generals from three conference wins in three years, to a second-place regular-season standing in 2017 & 18, and a Conference Tournament Finalist in 2018. He guided the program to an overall record of 19-13-5 in three years as the head coach.



Starr began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant for the womens soccer team at his alma mater, Colorado Christian University. During his playing career with the Cougars, he was twice named Impact Player of the Year.



Starr graduated from Colorado Christian University in 2010 with a Bachelors in History. He received his Master's degree in Recreation and Sports Science from Ohio University in 2015.



Starr played soccer professionally for two seasons in the Austrian 2. Landesliga for SV Hirschstetten in Vienna. As a midfielder, he led the club in goals and minutes played.
 
Along with his coaching and playing experience, Starr is also a board member for InSoccer Outreach, based in Vienna, Austria, which uses soccer as a platform to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He serves as a Board Member with the organization and as a Camp and Tournament Director.
 
Tim is married with two young children. He and his wife, Harmony, are the proud parents of Micah and Anna, where they reside in Franklin Springs, GA.

Joshua Gutierrez

Joshua Gutierrez has joined the NGU Men's Soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Coach Gutierrez is now entering his second full year on the North Greenville coaching staff.

Coach Gutierrez began his coaching career at 19 after heart surgery stopped him from playing. He coached at Carolina FC in Spartanburg, SC where he coached for almost 10 years and served as club admin for 4 years. Gutierrez coached several teams, of all age groups, where he won multiple tournaments and leagues.

Gutierrez also currently coaches his high school alumn, James F. Byrnes, for the past 5 seasons. In his first season, Byrnes had the best season in school history.

In his career, Gutierrez began playing soccer for the first time at 16 and played two years of high school and club soccer. Was named captain of his high school team in his second year of playing and won the U18 South Carolina Youth Soccer State Cup.

Gillette comes to LMU following five seasons as an assistant coach apart of Tim Chastonays staff at NCAA Division I Bellarmine of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
 
In the fall 2021 season, Gillette and the Knights finished with a bid to their second straight ASUN Championship while placing three student-athletes on the all-conference teams.
 
In the spring of 2021, Bellarmine's first in Division I and the ASUN Conference, Gillette and the Knights wasted no time in making their mark. Bellarmine secured the top seed from the North Division in the ASUN Championship after going 3-1 in league play while finishing the season ranked No. 9 in the Atlantic Region by the United Soccer Coaches. The memorable inaugural season in D1 included an ASUN Coach of the Year nod for Head Coach Tim Chastonay, four All-Conference acknowledgements and an All-Region laurel (Jonas Skulstad).

The 2019 campaign marked the most successful in program history for Bellarmine, which did not lose a match until the Sweet 16 of the NCAA II Tournament. The Knights went 16-1-5 overall and 10-0-4 in the GLVC. Both win totals set new program records. Along with an undefeated regular season, Bellarmine captured the GLVC Tournament title following a 3-2 victory over McKendree and secured its first-ever NCAA II Tournament berth. The Knights built a 30-game unbeaten streak bridging the 2018 and 2019 seasons and finished the year with a No. 13 national ranking. Tomas Bernedo, Micah Linscott and Eddie Williamson earned All-America accolades from the D2CCA, and Bernedo became the program's first GLVC Offensive Player of the Year.

Bellarmine finished 12-5-2 in 2018. At the time, the Knights tied both the most overall wins and the most conference victories (nine) in program history. Bellarmine finished second in the league and earned the No. 2 seed in the GLVC Tournament, where the Knights advanced to the finals. Jonas Skulstad became the program's first GLVC Defensive Player of the Year honoree.

In 2017, the Knights tied a then-program record with nine GLVC wins. Bellarmine's 11 overall victories were one shy of the program record at the time. The biggest highlight of the season came when Bellarmine defeated second-ranked and Final Four-bound Rockhurst 2-1. Williamson was named GLVC co-Freshman of the Year.

Gillette has served as the Director of Coaching at Oldham Soccer Club. He holds a USSF B license and a Director of Coaching Diploma. He has also coached in the Kentucky Olympic Development program.

Gillette played three seasons (2012-14) at Francis Marion University in South Carolina and captained the team his senior season. During his summers in college, he played for National Premier Soccer League and Premier Development League teams Myrtle Beach Mutiny, Tampa Bay Marauders and Derby City Rovers. He began coaching in South Carolina while in college.

A native of London, England, Gillette attended the University of Nottingham in England and earned a bachelors degree in politics. He earned a masters degree while playing at Francis Marion.

Shane Calvert

Lees-McRae College Vice President of Athletics and Club Sports Craig McPhail announced on August 9, 2019 that Shane Calvert has been named the new head coach of the men's soccer program. Calvert, who is the tenth head coach in the history of the program, brings several years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels to Banner Elk.



"We were looking for a dynamic leader for our men's soccer program," said McPhail. "Shane showed us everything in the time we spent together. His knowledge of the game, understanding of who we are and desire to make an impact in these young men's lives were critical pieces to identifying our next head coach. He articulated a plan to continue the strong tradition of men's soccer at Lees-McRae with a passion we enjoyed. I'm excited to work with him and watch those young men thrive in his system."



Calvert joins the Bobcat family after spending the past two years as the Head Boys Soccer Coach/Director of Operations/Summer Camps Coordinator at the Darlington School Soccer Academy in Rome, Georgia. During his time there, Calvert was responsible for the day-to-day operations, planned and executed training programs and recruiting eligible students to the institution.



"I am extremely excited for the opportunity to become the head men's soccer coach at Lees McRae College," Calvert said. "Becoming a head college coach has always been my dream and one I have prayed for a long time.  I would like to thank Dr. King and Mr. McPhail for the opportunity to lead the program at such a special place.  Coach Ralph Lundy, Coach Mike Noonan, and Coach Ralph Polson have had such a huge influence in my career and I would not be here today if not for them.  My wife and I look forward to being a part of Lees-McRae College and the Banner Elk community."



Calvert's collegiate coaching experiences include stops at Wofford College (2015-2017), Clemson University (2014-2015) and his alma mater Tusculum University (2005-2007). At Clemson, Calvert helped coach the Tigers to the 2014 ACC Championship and to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. During his time with Tusculum, Calvert helped coach the team that reached No. 1 in the NCAA Division II national rankings.



As a coach in the high school ranks, Calvert also has a decorated resume with over 100 victories. He has been the head soccer coach Morristown West High School (Morristown, Tenn.), Dobyns Bennett High School (Kingsport, Tenn.), Spartanburg High School (Spartanburg, S.C.) and the Darlington School Academy as previously mentioned. Additionally, Calvert has earned multiple District Coach of the Year, Regional Coach of the Year and State Coach of the Year honors as a prep head coach to go along with multiple State Tournament appearances. Furthermore, Calvert guided his team at Spartanburg High School to the No. 1 ranking in the state of South Carolina.

Michael Antoniewicz

Antoniewicz makes his way to Hartsville after spending the last three years as the assistant mens soccer coach at Truett McConnell University, in which he assisted in all aspects of the day-to-day operations. During his time at Truett McConnell, Antoniewicz helped guide the Bears to a 32-20-3 record. Antoniewicz helped lead the Bears to their first ever Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship and first ever NAIA tournament appearance in 2017 after finishing the season with a record of 16-4-2.

His duties as assistant soccer coach at Truett McConnell include being the head of recruiting, compiling scouting reports, running training sessions, field maintenance, and player management on and off the field. Antoniewicz also aided international students with their student visa process and the NAIA eligibility process, while also handling off campus evaluations, campus visits, and social media development projects.

Along with his work at Truett McConnell, Antoniewicz serves as an academy coach for the 2018 MLS Cup Champions Atlanta United and the head coach of the Lanier Soccer Academy. He has coached some of the top soccer prospects in Georgia during his time in the Atlanta United Academy, leading training sessions throughout the academy system. He also holds a USSF Level D License.

Antoniewicz graduated from Truett McConnell in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Sports Management and is currently pursuing Master of Business Administration. He is a native of Kirkcaldy, Scotland and is the husband of Brianna Antoniewicz.

Luis Rincon

uis Rincon is preparing to enter his second season as head coach of the Francis Marion University men's soccer program.

Rincon was named to his new post on Feb. 14, 2019, and became the seventh head coach in the 44-year history of the Francis Marion program. 

In his first year, he guided the Patriots to a 16-5-1 record, the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Tournament title, and the program's third-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.  FMU finished the season ranked No.22 in the United Soccer Coaches final NCAA II Top 25 poll, after being nationally ranked for seven weeks during the regular season, including three weeks in the Top 10.  The team's win total was the third-highest total in team history, including a first-round victory in the NCAA Tournament.  FMU led the Peach Belt with a 0.74 goals against average and a school-record 11 shutouts. 

Rincon received the 2020 Frankie Award for Head Coach of the Year, and the 2019 Patriot men's soccer squad received the 2020 Frankie Award for Most Outstanding Team.

A native of Bogota, Colombia, prior to coming to Florence Rincon headed the Ohio Valley mens program for the past four seasons, registering a 55-23-7 record and earning a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.

In his final season (2018), he guided OVU to an 18-6-1 mark and an appearance in the Elite Eight of the national tournament.  The Fighting Scots finished the year ranked No.10 after reaching as high as second in the nation.

His 2017 squad posted a 17-2-4 record that included both the Great Midwest Conference regular-season and tournament titles and an NCAA Tournament invitation.  The team was nationally ranked for eight consecutive weeks, finishing the year at No.6.

He took over an OVU mens program that was 0-17-0 before his arrival and immediately turned the program around.  His first squad went 9-8-1 and garnered the programs first-ever berth in the Great Midwest Conference Tournament.  The next year, the Fighting Scots produced an 11-7-1 campaign, setting a school-record for wins in a season, and placed second during the G-MAC regular season.

He also guided the OVU womens team to a two-year record of 33-4-6, including two conference regular-season and tournament titles, and two NCAA Tournament bids.

Prior to taking the OVU position, he served four seasons as an assistant coach for both mens and womens soccer at his alma mater, Texas A&M International University.  Also during that time, he worked as an assistant instructor for weight training, aerobic training, and soccer.

He also worked for three years as a mens and womens assistant at another of his alma maters, Warner University in Lake Wales, Fla., and has experience coaching with the Eden Prairie Soccer Club in Minneapolis, Minn.

Rincon earned a B.A. degree in business administration from Warner in 2008 and an M.B.A. degree in international business from Texas A&M International in 2010.  He holds an advanced national diploma from the NSCAA.

Enda Crehan was announced as the new Head Men's Soccer Coach in May of 2020. Crehan comes to CBU after spending three seasons as the head coach at Ferrum College (Va.).
 
The Newbridge, Galway, Ireland native has 69 victories as a head coach, but his teams have also excelled off the pitch. His 2019 team, at Ferrum, earned the highest GPA (3.19) of all FC men's teams. He has also coached five Academic All-Americans, five academic all-conference members and the 2015 NSCAA NJCAA Student-Athlete of the Year, Elias Tamburini, who is a professional player in Iceland.

Ashley Holmes

Ashley Holmes became the Head Coach at Florida Southern in April, 2020, after spending six season as an assistant coach at his alma mater. After serving as assistant under former head coach Ryan Sniegoski in 2013, and from 2015-16, Holmes remained on the staff when Jason Carlson arrived in 2017, and has now been a part of the mens soccer program at Florida Southern for all but one of the last 12 years.

One of the most decorated players in team history, Holmes spent five seasons with the Moccasins as a student-athlete from 2008-12, which included a medical redshirt year in 2009. During that time, he started all 54 games in which he played and was a 3-time First Team All-Sunshine State Conference defender. He is one of only three players in team history to make the All-SSC Team three times, was an NSCAA All-South Region selection in 2010, and was twice selected as the Mocs' Most Valuable Player (2010 and 2012). Well-known for his abilities as a center back, Holmes also ranks among the highest scoring defenders to ever play for the Moccasins. He totaled 11 goals and 23 points in his career and was their second leading scorer as a redshirt junior in 2011 with six goals.

Holmes has the distinction of being the only Moccasin to serve as a team captain four years. He was elected to that role as a sophomore in 2009, the year in which he redshirted, and continued to hold that title throughout the remainder of his career. He was also a leader in the classroom at Florida Southern, winning two NCAA Academic Achievement Awards, earning Academic All-Region honors in 2011, and a spot on the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll in all five years on the roster, including his final season when he played as a graduate student.

In addition to his duties at Florida Southern, Holmes is also a member of the Auburndale Scream coaching staff where he holds the title of Director of Coaching. 

David Krems

David Krems is in his first season as head men's soccer coach at Mount Union.

Krems has spent the last two seasons as an assistant men's soccer coach at Penn State-Behrend in Erie, Pennsylvania. In those seasons, he helped lead the Lions to a 35-6-2 record with a pair of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference titles, and two NCAA Tournament appearances including a run to the round of 16 in 2018.

Prior to being at Penn State-Behrend, Krems had assistant coaching stints at Case Western Reserve University, Notre Dame College, Hiram College and Xavier University.

Krems was a four-year starter as a player at Hiram as the Terriers went 43-17-13 over his career and he is currently seventh in school history in career goals.

A native of Lakewood, Ohio, he graduated from Hiram with a bachelor's degree in Business Management.

Stephen Magennis

Stephen Magennis enters his fifth season in 2017 as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Georgia Gwinnett College. With the Grizzlies, Magennis' responsibilities include recruiting, coaching, training and supporting head coach [Steve DeCou](http://www.grizzlyathletics.com/roster/3/4/176.php) in the day-to-day operation of the men's soccer program.

Magennis helped lead the Grizzlies to their third Association of Independent Institutions championship title in 2016, his first year with the program. The Grizzlies went 13-4-3 on the year and played in the NAIA national tournament for the third time in four seasons.

Magennis joined the Grizzlies after serving as the assistant coach for the Lander University (S.C.) men's soccer program for three seasons.  During his coaching tenure with the NCAA Division II Bearcats, Magennis helped guide Lander to the regular season Peach Belt Conference Championship in 2012.  Prior to coaching at Lander, Magennis was a member of the Bearcats' soccer team, where he was an integral part of Lander's 2009 Peach Belt Tournament Championship squad.

A native of Dublin, Ireland, Magennis spent his first two collegiate seasons at Darton State College (Ga.). He earned a bachelor of arts in exercise science from Lander in December 2009.

Coupled with his collegiate coaching experiences, Magennis spent time with the New Orleans Jesters of the National Premier Soccer League as their first assistant coach and director of operations (2009-2010).

Magennis holds a USSF A License, NSCAA Premier Diploma, and Football Association of Ireland Level 1 and 2 coaching certificates.

Gudjonsson spent two years as a Graduate Assistant at Auburn University Montgomery assisting with the men's and women's teams.  As an assistant, Gudjonsson helped the AUM program to reach the Elite Eight in 2012 and the Final of the 2013 NAIA National Championship (an overtime loss). Elvar played for AUM from 2004-2007 as a defender and was an All-American Honorable Mention in 2005.  He played on teams that made 4 consecutive NAIA National Tournament Appearances with a Runner-Up finish in 2004 and Final-Four Appearances in 2005 and 2007.  He was All-Conference for the SSAC in 2004, 2005, and 2006 while being named Conference Tournament MVP in 2005.  Gudjonsson also played on the Iceland U-17 and U-19 national teams as well as spent several years playing semi-professionally in Iceland. Originally from Iceland, Gudjonsson speaks English, Norweigan, Icelandic, and Danish. The New York native brings with him to the Knights more than 12 years of coaching experience. Most recently he was the head coach at Mary Persons High School (Forsyth, Ga.), amassing a 52-17-3 record during his time with the program. In 2015, Luton was named the Region 2-AAAA Coach of the Year after leading the school to its second region championship in three years (including the first in school history). He also guided the Bulldogs to the Class AAAA Elite 8 and a pair of Sweet 16 appearances. Luton's coaching experience dates back to 2005 and also includes stints with Southern Alliance Futbol (SAF), Macon Soccer Club and Athens United Soccer Association. As a player, Luton was a four-year starter and two-year captain at Brewton-Parker College (Mt. Vernon, Ga.). He helped lead BPC to its only Southern States Athletic Conference championship in school history and a pair of NAIA National Tournament appearances. Luton also holds the school record for games played in a career. He has an M.A. in Education from Georgia College & State University and a B.A. in Political Science from Brewton-Parker College.

Codi Crippen

Codi Crippen is in his first season as assistant men's soccer coach at Tennessee Wesleyan University in 2020.

Crippen spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Thomas University, ending his time with the program as the interim head coach. During his three seasons with Thomas, he helped lead the team to The Sun Conference Men's Soccer Tournament each season, including winning the 2018 The Sun Conference Regular-Season Championship along with runner-up finish in the conference tournament that same season.

Crippen made a coaching stop at NCAA Division III school Huntingdon College from 2014-2017, where he served as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach. While at Huntingdon, Crippen had a goalkeeper be named USA South Player of the Week four times. Crippen has previously coached in the state of Tennessee, serving as a graduate assistant for the women's soccer program at Bethel University from 2012-2014.

The Zanesville, Ohio native played at the University of Rio Grande where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Studies in 2011 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education in 2012. While playing for Rio Grande, Crippen helped the team advance to the NAIA National Tournament all four years he played, finishing in the Round of 16 twice, as the national runner-up in 2008 and in the semifinals in 2009, compiling a 69-13-8 overall record. He served as a volunteer assistant at Rio Grande from 2010-2012.

Crippen currently holds United States Soccer Federation National C and D Licenses along with a Premier Diploma, Advanced National Diploma, and Goalkeeping Level one and two from the United Soccer Coaches.

Chris Leonardi

Leonardi just completed his second season at the helm of the Badgers qualifying for the GSC playoffs for the second year in a row.

Leonardi joined the Badgers in April 2021 after seven successful seasons as the mens head coach at Martin Methodist College (MMC) in Pulaski, Tenn.

Leonardi held a 66-50-10 record at MMC and directed the RedHawks to the 2019 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national tournament where they downed previously undefeated University of Houston-Victoria in the first round prior to losing to the eventual national champion, Central Methodist University in the following round.

In 2013, Leonardi was the assistant coach at MMC where he helped lead the RedHawks to a record-breaking 19-2-2 season that culminated in the programs first-ever NAIA mens national championship.
 
Prior to joining MMC, Leonardi was the boys and girls soccer coach at the University School of Jackson (Tenn.). With the girls, Leonardi amassed a 227-57-16overall record and won two state titles in 2010 and 2011. In 13 years, the girls made three championship appearances, five Final Four appearances, eight state tournament appearances, and won nine region titles with five district titles. Leonardi was voted National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Regional Coach of the Year (private/parochial, high school girls) in 2011. With the boys, Leonardi tallied a 204-78-17overall record. In 12 years, the boys made two Final Four appearances, four state tournament appearances, and won six region titles with eight district titles.
 
Leonardi is part of US Soccer Region III staff, and a former member of the Tennessee Olympic Development Program (TN ODP) staff, and a former coaching instructor for the Tennessee State Soccer Association.  He currently holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) A License, the NSCAA Premier Diploma, and a NCSAA Goalkeeper Level 1 License.
 
A 1998 graduate of Lambuth University in Jackson, Tenn., Leonardi earned a B.S. in Physical Education and Health. During his playing career with the Eagles, Lambuth captured one Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference (TCAC) championship and two Mid-South Conference (MSC) championships.

Cockburn is entering his thirteenth season as the Warriors Head Mens Soccer Coach. He is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, currently resides in Lake Wales, Florida. 
 
Coach Cockburn served as an Apprentice of East Sterling under Coach Hugh McCann, a Third Division Professional Team. While in the U.S he has gained his Premier Diploma and Director of Coaching with the NSCAA and currently received his B License with the USSF. Coach Cockburn was awarded the Coach of the Year award by his conference in 2013. His collegiate playing experience was at Iowa Central Community College and at Cardinal Stritch University.
 
Coach Cockburn has over 15 years of coaching experience, he began his career as the  Assistant Mens and Womens Soccer Coach at Iowa Central Community College in 2001-2002. In 2005-2007 he was the Graduate Assistant Mens Soccer Coach at Siena Heights University where he graduated with a Masters in Organization Leadership, during his time at Siena Heights he served under Bobby Clark as a Camp Instructor at the University of Notre Dame. After graduating he was a High School Teacher and head womens soccer coach at Cape Coral High School in 2007-2008.

Richard Vardy was named the head coach of Berry's men's soccer program in 2002. Since then, he has compiled a record of 223-102-25 to become one of the most decorated coaches in program history. 

In Berry's NCAA Division III era, Vardy has coached 40 All-SAA selections, 69 SAA Academic Honor Roll selections, a CoSIDA Academic All-American and earned a conference championship in 2014 & 2012 & 2021

The 2014 squad advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship. Vardy was also named the league's Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons (also in 2012). 

In Berry's NAIA era, Vardy led the Vikings to one of the best records in school history in 2010, guiding Berry to a 15-1-1 overall mark. He also led the 2007 team to a sweep of both the SSAC regular season and tournament titles, finishing the year ranked No. 9 in the NAIA National Poll.

Vardy's teams also posted back-to-back semifinal appearances in the NAIA National Tournament and team record victory totals in 2003 and 2004.

Vardy played four years of soccer at Lenoir-Rhyne College in North Carolina from 1991 to 1995, and he was named an NCAA Division II All-American in 1993. He served as an assistant coach at Lenoir-Rhyne for one season before coming to Berry.

Donovan Dowling

Donovan Dowling joined the University of Louisville in July of 2018. He serves as the men's soccer assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

In his role as recruiting coordinator, Dowling has helped lead the charge on nationally ranked recruiting classes in each of his three seasons, including top-10 classes in 2020 (No. 6) and 2021 (No. 9).

Dowling helped Louisville to a 5-8-1 mark during the 2020 season, a year split between the fall and spring semesters due to COVID-19. Battling injuries, UofL went just 1-6-1 during the fall portion of the season, but rebounded in the spring and posted a 4-2-0 record and finished second in the ACC Atlantic Division. The Cardinals capped off the spring season with a 2-1 victory over No. 1 Clemson in the regular season finale. Elijah Amo (Real Salt Lake) and Lamine Conte (New York Red Bulls) were both selected in the MLS SuperDraft in January of 2021, and Jake Gelnovatch inked a professional deal with USL Championship club Memphis 901 FC.

In his second season at Louisville, Dowling helped the Cardinals produce a 10-8-2 record and earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Cardinals earned a pair of NCAA wins, including an upset of No. 14 UC Davis. Dowling helped guide goalkeeper Jake Gelnovatch to eight shutouts, third most in the ACC. Gelnovatch also earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career. Cherif Dieye was selected in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft by New York Red Bulls.

In his first season at Louisville, the Cards won their first ever ACC Championship title in 2018, earning the #4 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament before ending the season 11-5-3. The Cards also saw a number of individuals move on to the professional ranks with Tate Schmitt signing a Homegrown contract with Real Salt Lake (MLS), Adam Wilson was selected in the 2nd round of the MLS Draft by Toronto FC, and Geoffrey Dee signed a professional contract with Louisville City FC (USL).
 
Dowling arrived in Louisville following three seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he assisted in restarting the mens soccer program from scratch in 2015. While at UTGRV, Donovan served as the top assistant coach for three seasons where he was directly involved in numerous phases of the program, including recruiting, scouting, compliance, budgeting, travel, and academics. The Vaqueros showed notable improvement during the first three seasons increasing their win total each year, qualifying for the 2016 & 2017 WAC Tournament, and increasing their RPI each year ending 44th nationally.
 
In addition to his duties at UTRGV, Dowling also coached in the professional ranks as the goalkeeper coach with Rio Grande Valley FC of the USL Championship. In their inaugural season, RGVFC finished second in the USL Western Conference in 2016, qualifying for the USL Playoffs. Dowling worked under current Montreal Impact head coach Wilmer Cabrera in 2016 and under current LA Galaxy II head coach Junior Gonzalez in 2017. Overall, 11 players from RGVFC have signed MLS contracts since 2016.
 
Prior to helping restart the program at UTRGV, Dowling coached at Northeast Texas Community College, where he served as the head coach of the mens and womens soccer programs for two years. He led the mens team to a program-best 17-4-2 record in 2014, with a ranking as high as No. 4 in the nation en route to an NJCAA Tournament berth. For his efforts, Dowling was a finalist for National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Coach of the Year. In 2013, the mens team was one of the most improved teams in the NJCAA with a 14-7 record, compared to a 5-14-1 record the season prior to his arrival.
 
From 2011-12, Dowling helped start the first-ever mens soccer program at Fort Hays State University as an assistant coach. In 2011, the inaugural team finished 11-5-2, while receiving votes in the NSCAA Top 25 poll. In 2012, the team did one better, as Dowling helped lead the Tigers to an 11-6-2 record, along with the programs first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament, advancing all the way to the Sweet 16. The Tigers were ranked for the majority of the 2012 season, with a high of No. 9 in the nation.
 
Dowling coached from 2009-11 with the Fort Wayne Fever as the Director of Goalkeeping for the entire club, while also serving as the assistant coach for the 93 and 95 Fever boys teams. Both of his Fever teams were Indiana State Cup Finalists.
 
A goalkeeper, Dowling played collegiately at the NCAA Division I level at IPFW, where, as a two-year starter, he set program records for goals against average and shutouts in a season while earning All-Summit League honors. He played his first two collegiate seasons at Barton County Community College, where he was a Third Team All-American and First Team NSCAA All-Region and All-Conference honoree, leading his team to the No. 2 ranking in the nation while serving as the sophomore captain. A two-year starter, Dowling compiled a 39-4-2 record during his career.
 
A native of Olathe, Kansas, Dowling earned his bachelor of general studies from Indiana University and added a master of science in sports and human performance from Fort Hays State.

Dean Grey begins his first season as head coach of the Young Harris College men's soccer program. Grey is in his 11th season as a coach for the Mountain Lions. Grey served as an assistant coach for the first eight years before being elevated to the associate head coach position.

During his time in the Enchanted Valley, Grey has helped the Mountain Lions capture six Peach Belt Conference regular-season titles, five PBC Tournament championships and six appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Grey has helped YHC, which has been ranked as No. 1 in the country during the 2014, 2018 and 2021 seasons, to a [143-29-11](tel:143-29-11) record (.811 winning percentage). The Mountain Lions reached the national quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament in both 2014 and 2018, capturing the Southeast Region title in 2018.

He also served seven years as the head coach of the JV men's soccer program.

Grey spent three seasons as an assistant for the Southwest Baptist University women's soccer program. He was responsible for assisting in all aspects of managing and developing the Bearcats to compete in Mid-America Intercollegiate Conference, which was rated the the toughest NCAA Division II conference for women's soccer in the country.

Grey, who holds a National "B" License, was also the co-head coach of the Springfield Demize in the Premier Development League during 2012. He also played two seasons in 2010 and 2011 for the Demize.

Before going to SBU, Grey spent 2008 with the New Orleans Shockers of the PDL. From 2003-07, Grey played for four years at William Woods University as a left midfielder.

A native of London, England, Grey played two years in England under the PASE Scheme, an English college soccer program.

Grey earned his bachelor's degree in sports management with a minor in business communications from William Woods and his master's degree in business administration from Southwest Baptist.

Grey is the father of twins Jackson and Ava.
