Brian Bouhl

Assistant Coach

Georgetown

Division 1

Brian Bouhl joined the Hoyas in 2018 as the volunteer assistant coach.  He comes to the Hilltop from Coastal Carolina University. Bouhl assists in all aspects of the program, with primary responsibility on coaching the Hoya goalkeepers and managing the sport science program.




 


Bouhl spent the past three seasons at the University of Kentucky where he was the director of operations for mens soccer.  There he worked with all aspects of the program focusing on team operations including training, sport science, travel and camps. During that time, the Wildcats made NCAA tournament appearances in 2015 and 2016, including a program-first No. 16 seed in 2016.




 


While in Lexington, Bouhl was a staff coach with Lexington FC for five years, coaching the 1999 and 2001 boys age groups, as well as coaching goalkeepers for the club.




 


He began his coaching career at Centre College in 2014 as an assistant coach.  At Centre, Bouhl coached the goalkeepers while also managing the squads daily schedule from training to equipment and social media.




 


Bouhl also spent time coaching in the PDL with Myrtle Beach Mutiny and Derby City Rovers.




 


A native of Louisville, Kentucky, he earned a bachelors degree in journalism from the University of Kentucky. He holds his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) E License as well as the United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Diploma 1.




 


Bouhl resides in the Glover Park neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

Bill Schmid

Assistant Coach

Division 1

Schmid, who joined Kylie Stannard's staff in May of 2019, has been a part of two very successful programs in his young coaching career with his teams posting a 47-8-5 overall record. In 2018 as an assistant at Amherst, he helped the Mammoths to 14 victories, including two in the NCAA Tournament, while also serving as the recruiting coordinator.

Schmid joined the Amherst staff after spending two seasons on the Springfield College staff, including serving as the Interim Head Coach in the spring of 2018. Springfield posted an impressive 33-3-4 record during his tenure.

Schmid holds both a bachelors degree in physical education and a masters degree in sports psychology from Springfield. He was a four-year starter for the mens soccer team, including serving as team captain as a senior.

Bill comes highly recommended from some top coaches in the college game, Stannard said. Hes quite possibly one of the most experienced college coaches in the country for his age.  Hes worked for two incredible coaches and top 20 Division III programs at Springfield College and Amherst College.  He has experience recruiting and working with top tier academic student-athletes and has been involved with every aspect of both those programs.  Bill was recently a finalist for the volunteer assistant position at Stanford, so I feel extremely lucky that we were able to keep him close to home in Connecticut.  Hes already hit the ground running and his work ethic and drive will be a huge asset to our program and student-athletes. 

Chris Volk

Division 1

Chris Volk joined the UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team as an assistant coach in August of 2017. Since his arrival at UCR, he has helped the Highlanders to 3 Big West Championships and two appearances to the NCAA Division I Tournament (2018 and 2022).

Volk is best known to area soccer fans as the longtime assistant coach and head coach at UC Irvine. During his 20 years with the Anteaters, Volk helped UCI to five NCAA Tournament appearances, including three trips to the Sweet 16.

The 'Eaters won four Big West Conference Championships, and four conference tournament titles during his final nine years with the program. Over that time span, UC Irvine compile a 106-67-22 win-loss record, and six national Top-25 rankings.

Volk was named the NSCAA Far West Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2008, and was a finalist for the national assistant coach of the year that same season.

Eleven of his student-athletes were drafted by MLS teams, and 33 earned Big West All-Academic honors.

Prior to his time at UC Irvine, Volk was the men's assistant coach at San Diego State, the assistant coach and goalkeeper coach at San Diego Mesa College, an assistant in the California Soccer Association South, and a Region IV ODP/Coach and Instructor. He also served as the head coach of the Orange County SC U23 USL PDL, and currently is the DOC for North Huntington Beach FC.

Volk received his bachelor's degree in social science with a minor in Spanish from San Diego State in 1992.

George Kuntz

Kuntz had led the Titans to 3 NCAA Tournament Appearances, 2024 Big West Champions 12-5 record, Coach of the year, 4 Big West Tournament Finals, 3 Big West Tournament Semi-Final, and 3 Big West Tournament titles and 5 winning seasons in his first 5 seasons while also earning their first South Divsion title in history during the 2015 and 2017 campaign. 
Kuntz came to Fullerton after serving 19 years as the men's head soccer coach at UC Irvine, turning the Anteaters into a perennial soccer power that have made four NCAA Tournament appearances in the last six years, winning four Big West Tournament championships (2008, 2009,2011, 2013) and three regular season titles (2008, 2010, 2011). Kuntz, a collegiate head coach for 29 years, was named the NSCAA/Adidas Far West Region Coach of the Year in (2006 and 2008) and has seen a number of players jump to the next level including 12 in Major League Soccer (MLS) and three on various U.S. National Teams.
After leading the Titans to their first Big West Tournament Championship in 2014, Kuntz led his 2015 squad to not only another Tournament title but to their first ever South Division regular season title. Kuntz led his team to the best overall and conference records since 2000 with an overall record of 13-8-1 while posting a 6-3-1 record in Big West play. 
With 10 wins in his first season at the helm of the Titans, Kuntz compiled the most wins in an inaugural season as Titan head coach since Al Mistri won 13 games in his opening season in 1981. In his first win as the head coach of Cal State Fullerton, Kuntz led the Titans to a 4-3, double overtime comeback victory over 14th-ranked University of Maryland, Baltimore County on Sep. 14. He later led Cal State Fullerton over his old team, UC Irvine, in championship game of the Big West Championship Tournament on Nov. 15 in a penalty-kick shootout victory, 4-3, giving the Titans their first ever Big West Conference Tournament Championship and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
His career record is 349-239-79, ranking second in Big West history with 164 victories as a member of the Big West Conference. In addition, his 74 Big West wins ranks third all-time. The Anteaters earned seven All-American honors under Kuntz, and in addition, the soccer program has earned 15 conference players of the year, 111 all-conference honors, and 15 All-West Region honors. Prior to 2013, UCI entered the postseason in 2011 after winning the Big West Tournament for a third time earning a No. 8 national seed and finishing the season ranked 13th with a school record 16 wins while going 16-6-1. The 2011 season was another giant leap in the college soccer world being ranked as high as fifth. In 2010, Kuntz led the Anteaters to a 14-3-3 record and a Big West regular season title. In 2009, UCI won the Big West Tournament and received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and a first round bye by virtue of a 4-1 win on the road against UC Santa Barbara. UC Irvine was rewarded for a historic 15-win season by receiving the 16th seed for the NCAA Division I Tournament and played host to Stanford in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in front of 2,000 fans. The team finished No. 3 in the West region and No. 25 in the nation.
Kuntz led the 2008 Anteaters to their first-ever Big West championship with a 5-1-4 league record, their first Big West Tournament title and first trip to the NCAA Tournament. In the NCAA tournament, he guided the team to the Round of 16 after earning the No. 14 national seed to start the tourney. Kuntz earned his second Big West Conference Coach of the Year honor that season. Four players earn All-American honors, and the Anteaters were ranked as high as seventh nationally. Kuntz came to UCI from Pepperdine where he was the first women's soccer head coach; recording a 23-11-2 record in the first two seasons (1993 & 1994) of the program's existence including historic wins over UCLA and USC. Kuntz began his collegiate coaching career at California Lutheran University in 1988 and compiled a five-year record of 60-27-10 (.670). The Kingsmen won the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) titles in 1991 and 1992 and advanced to the NCAA Far West Regional title game. In 1989, Kuntz founded the women's soccer program at California Lutheran University and recorded a 51-24-1 (.678) record from 1989-1992. California Lutheran's women's team was ranked No. 1 in the Far West region and No. 3 in the nation in 1992 with a 17-4 record. Kuntz led the team to SCIAC championships in 1991 and 1992. The team went to the NCAA Far West final in 1992.
Kuntz coached four National Championship teams in the Donnelly Cup (Amateur Adult Division National Championships) as the California Soccer Association Head Coach for both the men and women. The California State Select Men's Team won National Championships in 2003, 2004 and 2005. His women's California State Select won the national title in 2006, the regional title in 2004 and, participated in the National Final Four in 2005. Kuntz is a 1989 graduate of Arizona State University and holds a bachelor's degree in communication arts. He graduated with a master's degree in education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction from California Lutheran University. He holds a United States Soccer Federation "A" license, National Youth License, and the National Soccer Coaches Association Advanced National Diploma. Kuntz spent a large part of his coaching career studying the development of the youth soccer player and is nationally recognized as the one of the longest serving United States State Association (USYSA) Directors of Coaching in the United States. Kuntz has been the Technical Director and Director of Coaches Education for the Hawaii Youth Soccer Association for 10 years.  He served as the Director of Coaching for the California Youth Soccer Association - South for eight years and was the catalyst for mandatory licensing for youth soccer coaches in the United States. He was named 1995 CYSA - South Boy's Coach of the Year. Kuntz was also director of the Olympic Development Program from 1992 - 1996. In May of 2011, he was appointed the AYSO National Director of Player Development Technical Advisor. In 1994 Kuntz worked at the Federation International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup in Pasadena, California as an (FIFA) Assistant Technical Advisor.
Kuntz founded the Team Soccer Direct camp program in 1977, which has evolved into one of the nation's best summer camp programs and has been involved in the Olympic Development Program (ODP) as a player, coach, and administrator for 34 years. Kuntz played at Westmont College, San Diego Mesa College, and Scottsdale College during his collegiate years and was drafted by the Phoenix Fire of the American Professional Soccer League. Christy Gates-Bowes

Christy Gates-Bowes enters his second season as Assistant Coach with the UCSB Mens soccer program and brings 12 years of coaching experience with him.

Christy most recently served as the Mens lead Assistant Coach at Santa Barbara City College for two seasons, helping the Vaqueros reach back to back play-off appearances. 

Gates-Bowes began his coaching career at Brighton and Hove Albion FC in England where he worked with the youth development programs. Christy also worked with the Men's Soccer teams at the University of Sussex before moving to the United States in 2015 where he worked in the technical department of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association. Gates-Bowes currently holds the role of Academy Director at Santa Barbara Soccer club where he oversees the newly formed Boy's MLS Elite Youth Development Platform.

A native of Brighton, England, Christy played his football at Brighton, Hove and Sussex College. Coach Gates-Bowes holds a USSF A License and a UEFA B License.

Chris McGaughey

Chris joined the CSUB coaching staff in August of 2018. At CSU Bakersfield, Chris assists in coaching and organizing everyday training sessions, handles video editing, opponent scouting and recruiting while also monitoring student-athlete progress. Prior to CSUB, he was coaching at Portadown FC and assisting in the recruitment of local players. In the United States, McGaughey has worked for numerous clubs in Texas, Kansas City and California. Chris is currently holds a US Soccer D License and is the Head coach of Albion SC - Central Cal 2004 & 2009 Elite Academy boys team.

Raudel Fierro-Perez

Division 1

Raudel Fierro-Perez became a volunteer assistant with the Tulsa mens soccer program prior to the 2020 season.
 During his first year at Tulsa, the golden hurricane finished 6-4 and were runner ups in both the regular season conference and the conference tournament. Fierro-Perez coached 5 all conference players, including offensive player of the year Alex Meinhard. The Tulsa staff was named American Athletic Conference staff of the year after their spring 2021 season. 
Fierro-Perez previously served as the Key City Soccer Associations Director of Coaching for over three years (2017-20).  He was responsible for the entire business operation, while overseeing the coaching structure of the club for over 200 kids.  Fierro-Perez also served as the Assistant Director of Coaching for six months prior to his promotion to director. 
 
Fierro-Perez was the Director of Eastern Iowa Coerver Soccer for one year (2016-17), and worked with the Creighton mens soccer summer camps in 2019.
 
Fierro-Perez was a three-year letter winner at Loras College (2017-19).  He started in 13 of 54 games, had four goals and seven assists for 15 points, and attempted 32 shots in his career.  He also played for two seasons with NPSL Union Dubuque.
 
A native of West Liberty, Iowa, Fierro-Perez earned his degree in international studies from Loras College in 2019.

Jordan Grant

Division 1

Jordan Grant is entering his second season as assistant coach at Belmont, as head coach David Costa announced the addition of Grant to the Bruin staff on July 19, 2019.

In his first season at Belmont, the Bruins finished with a 5-12-2 (1-4-1 SoCon) record and the program's first-ever SoCon Championship semifinal appearance. Belmont shutout its opponents by a combined score of 6-0 in the first two rounds of the tournament before falling in overtime to UNC Greensboro in the semifinal.

Grant, a decorated collegiate player and well-respected in the college and club scenes, came to Belmont after spending the previous two-plus seasons as director of operations at the University of Cincinnati.

Brian Wright

Assistant Coach

Brian Wright enters his tenth year as Occidental College's men's soccer head assistant coach in the 2025-26 season.

Prior to joining the Occidental staff, Wright was an assistant coach for Caltech's men's soccer team for two seasons from 2014-2016.

A former Olympic Development Program (ODP) standout in southern California, Wright has been playing soccer since the age of five. He quickly knew soccer was his passion. His passion, combined with discipline and dedication, became the motivation to earn him a division 1 soccer scholarship to San Jose State University. Wright has played in several youth tournaments throughout Europe and has received world-renowned training from some of the best coaches at the professional level. This influence helped shape his personal philosophy and style of coaching. At the age of 17, he was offered a professional contract with Belgian side Club Brugge. Wright received his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Cal State University, Northridge in 2007.

After capping off his collegiate career, Wright went on to train with the Los Angeles Galaxy as a reserve, followed by a stint in USL League One. In 2016, he completed his master's in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University in Irvine. He currently holds a U.S. Soccer Federation A-Senior Coaching License.

Tino Morfin

Tino holds a USSF B License and a Premier Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.  Tino is working to get a USSF A License. He also holds a Masters degree in Education and a Bachelors degree in Spanish.  He is a graduate from Lincoln High School where he played soccer, volleyball, and track and field.  After graduating from high school he continued his soccer career at Cal State Los Angeles while transferring and graduating from Cal State Dominguez Hills. While playing collegiate soccer, he was part of the California Select Team that finished 3rd place in 2001 and won the National Championship of Region IV in 2002.   

Tino started his soccer coaching career as the boys junior varsity soccer coach at Lincoln High School from 1999-2004 while at the same time assisting with the varsity team. In 2005, he moved on to coach the boys varsity team at Jordan High School in Los Angeles.  From 2007-2009 he coached the Boys Varsity team at Crescenta Valley High School and in 2011-2012 he coached the Boys Varsity team at Port of Los Angeles High School in San Pedro.  At the club level, his team won Cal South State Cup with Monarcas SC in 2014. On February 1, 2015 he was promoted to Director of Coaching at Downtown Los Angeles Soccer Club.  Morfin is also part of the NSCAA Associated Staff to coach levels 1-6 and now coaches at Los Angeles Premier FC.  

Morfin grew up playing soccer and he is very passionate soccer coach.  He currently resides in Cypress Park with his wife Griselda and their children Mayari, Ronaldo and Juliana.

Tj Kostecky

Head Coach

TJ Kostecky arrived at Bard in July of 2019.

He came to Bard after 20 years as the head coach at Div. I LIU-Brooklyn, where he led the Blackbirds to the 2018 NCAA Tournament in his final season there. During his tenure there, he won three Northeast Conference titles, made three NCAA Tournament appearances and was the NEC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.

As successful as his teams have been on the pitch, Kosteckys squads were also devoted in the classroom. His 2003 & 2012 teams posted the highest team grade point average in the nation. The 2008 & 2015 squads was awarded the NEC Team Academic Award for posting the highest GPA among mens soccer teams in the conference. The 2011 & 2013 teams were distinguished by the conference with the NEC Sportsmanship Award.

Kostecky has a proven track record of rebuilding programs, having engineered successful turnarounds at each of his prior coaching stops. Prior to LIU, he took over an Appalachian State program in Boone, N.C., that had suffered four consecutive losing seasons prior to Kosteckys hiring in 1998. In his only season at the school, he led the Mountaineers to a 13-8 mark in 1998, marking the best first-year record for a coach in the programs history of over 40 years. For his efforts, he was named Southern Conference Coach of the Year.

Kostecky arrived in Boone following a successful run as head coach and director of athletics at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C., from 1994-97. He was handed the reins of a program that had suffered eight straight losing seasons before he led the team to a 46-25-7 record and captured two Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference championships. Kostecky was named CVAC Coach of the Year in 1997 and mentored one All-American and nine all-conference honorees during his tenure.

He began his collegiate coaching career at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he led the Highlanders from 1988-93. NJIT compiled a 67-37-11 mark in his six years, capturing conference championships in 1991 and 1992 and making four ECAC postseason trips. Kosteckys accomplishments at NJIT came in his native New Jersey, where he starred scholastically at Woodbridge Township High School.

Tactically, Kosteckys attacking practice sessions involve a system called Vision Training that he and business partner Len Bilous developed several years ago. This method helps players make smart, well-informed decisions by improving their field vision.

A featured clinician around the world, Kostecky conducted a coaching seminar in Masku, Finland, in March of 2005 on Vision Training. In early 2005, he released a video under the same name for players and coaches to use. Since its release, it has become one of the most requested coaching video's in the country and abroad.


TJ is currently finishing up a self-help book through Benbella books publishing  that's set to be released in the winter of 2023. The title of the book is "Eyes up! A soccer guru's guide to scoring big in the game of life". 

Throughout his career, Kostecky has been an instrumental figure in facilitating the growth of soccer in America. From 1987-94 he was a coach for New Jerseys Olympic Development Team and was responsible for the training and selection of the states top players for the United States National Team. When he accepted his post at Pfeiffer, he filled a similar role with North Carolinas Olympic Development squad. Several of the players he mentored have played succeeded at the international level, including former U.S. National Team captain Claudio Reyna, and moved onto professional leagues such as Major League Soccer.

Kostecky has also worked with U.S. Mens and Womens National Team members, including Julie Foudy, a captain of the 1999 Womens World Cup Champions. He conducted an instructional clinic for inner city children at the 1998 NCAA Division I Championships in Richmond, Va., for the NCAA Youth Education Through Sports Program and was again a guest clinician for YES at the 1999 and 2000 NCAA Championships.

In 1989, Kostecky founded Soccer Start, a youth soccer program for inner city children. He served as the programs National Chairman until 1993. The program continues to identify and cultivate the abundance of talent in the inner-cities. He was appointed World Cup 94 Committee Chair by then New Jersey Governor Jim Florio and coordinated training site activities in the Metropolitan area for each international team.

A former all-state performer at Woodbridge, he was inducted into the schools Hall of Fame in 1995. He played midfield on the mens soccer team at East Stroudsburg University and received a bachelors degree in health and physical education in 1983. He completed his masters degree at East Stroudsburg in the same field in 1992.

Kevin McCarthy

Kevin McCarthy was added to head coach Matt OSullivans staff in March 2020, and will serve as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
 
Kevin McCarthy joins the Broncos after three years as assistant coach for the CSUSM mens soccer program. In 2019, the Cougars posted a 6-8-2 overall record and a 4-4-2 CCAA record in a season shortened two games by wildfires around Sonoma State and Cal State LA. It was CSUSM's second time finishing with a .500 record in conference play since joining the league in 2015. The Cougars' win over No. 25 Fresno Pacific to begin the season was the program's first win over a ranked opponent since 2016.

After starting the 2018 season with a 6-0 record, the Cougars made history by breaking into the United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll for the first time as an NCAA member as the team took a No. 19 ranking. The team ended the season with an overall record of 8-7-2 (4-6-2 CCAA).
 
During his four years with Frostburg State, McCarthy helped the Bobcats to 34 wins, including a pair of CAC Tournament and two ECAC Tournament appearances.
 
Frostburg emerged as one of the top defensive teams in the nation in his final two seasons. In 2016, the Bobcats finished eighth in the nation in save percentage (.883) after ranking second nationally (.909) following the 2014 campaign.
    
In his first year, McCarthy helped lead the Bobcats to a 13-7 overall record that included a perfect 9-0 record at home. Frostburg advanced to the CAC Tournament semifinals and won the FSU Tournament, both for the third-straight season.
 
Prior to his time at FSU, McCarthy had several coaching stints at the collegiate level. In 2012, McCarthy served as the mens and womens assistant coach at Ave Maria University. In 2011-12, he was an assistant coach at Manhattanville College. He was responsible for recruiting, scouting, helping with team academics and assisted in event management. The Valiants finished 15-4-1 and appeared in the NCAA Tournament.
 
McCarthy received his first collegiate assistant position at William Smith College in the spring of 2011. He designed and assisted with training sessions for the womens soccer team.
 
A 2011 graduate of Hobart College, McCarthy served as team captain and led the Statesmen to a 52-15-12 overall record with three appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He was a three-time Liberty League All-Academic honoree and garnered All-Liberty League Second Team honors as a senior in 2010.
 
In 2013, McCarthy played for and served as team captain of the Cape Coral Hurricanes of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
 
McCarthy received his United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma in January 2013 and MBA at Frostburg State in 2015. He currently resides with his fiancé Sarah and their dog Kono in San Clemente, Calif.

The 2018 season was Andriy Bundnyys third on the sidelines as an assistant coach. No stranger to the Cougar program, Bundyy was an all-conference performer in 2004 and 2005 when the program played in the Golden State Athletic Conference. He was named the leagues Player of the Year in 2005. In addition to his coaching duties with Azusa Pacific he coaches with Legends FC out of the San Gabriel Valley. He played professionally at a handful of places before moving from the playing field to the sidelines. Bundnyy and his wife have two children and live in the Azusa area.

Was Born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (East Africa) and moved to Burbank, Ca. in 1971.  Savio has played professionally and coached soccer for 35 years.  He has been a coach since 1990 at various clubs in the area as well as at the High School and College level. 

Savio has coached at LA Premier FC, DMS 11 and Rampage FC leading his teams to many titles including Premier League, National Cup, Surf Cup, Disney etc.  Savio has been able to place his players in College and the Professional ranks, and has sent players to England and Spain. He is excited for the opportunity to teach/coach the student athletes at Cal Lutheran University.

Graeme Jaap

After a stint as mens soccer assistant coach at Stetson University, Graeme Jaap takes over as the assistant coach at Cal State - Monterey Bay.
 
Jaap comes to Stetson after spending the 2016 season at Florida International, helping the Panthers reach the finals of the Conference USA Tournament. Prior to his time in Miami, Jaap spent five years on staff at Rollins College.
 
"I am thrilled to have Graeme as a part of the program here at Stetson," Stetson head coach Kyle Gookins said. "He has incredible college soccer experience and a vast recruiting network both domestically and internationally.  He is an extremely hardworking individual, and brings great energy to the locker room and training ground.  He fits right in with our values and will help drive the culture and the program forward." 

During his time at Rollins, Jaap helped lead the Tars to a 70-23-5 overall record, three Sunshine State Conference titles and four NCAA Tournament appearances.
 
"I couldn't be more excited to join the Stetson coaching staff," Jaap said. "The opportunity to work with Kyle was too good to pass up. Kyle has worked under some of the best coaches in the college game as an assistant, and has a wealth of soccer knowledge. I am really looking forward to working with him and continuing my development as a coach."
 
Prior to his arrival at Rollins, Jaap served as the head coach at Brescia University in Owensboro, Ky. In 2010 he led the Bearcats to the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.
 
Jaap enjoyed a successful playing career with the Hamilton Accies. He started his playing days as a standout for the U-18 Scottish national team, earning two caps.

He began his collegiate career at the University Mary in Bismarck, N.D., before transferring to Brescia in 2003. He earned NAIA All-American honors in 2004 before battling injury the next two years.

Jaap graduated from Brescia in 2006 with a degree in Business, focusing on Human Resources. Prior to coming to Rollins, he developed talent in Kentucky, coaching club in Owensboro.

Since taking over as interim then full head coach in 2017, Greg Mulholland is 71-13-8 with five RMAC Regular-Season titles, four RMAC Tournament titles and four NCAA Tournament appearances. He initially joined the Orediggers in 2007 as the program's assistant coach.


Mulholland's most recent conference titles came in 2019 as he guided Mines to a historic sweep of the RMAC crowns. The Orediggers finished the season 15-4-4 overall and 10-1-3 in RMAC play. Mulholland led Mines to the NCAA Tournament for a third straight year and advanced to the Sweet 16 thanks to a 2-1 win over #1-ranked Azusa Pacific on its home turf. The Orediggers' also took down Texas A&M-International in the first round of the NCAA postseason before falling to Cal State San Bernardino in the third round.

In 2018, Mulholland led Mines to another NCAA Tournament appearance after going 18-2-1 overall and 13-0-1 in RMAC play. Six Orediggers were named All-RMAC including Jason Zobott as RMAC Defensive Player of the Year. Mulholland also coached five players to all-region honors with John Haist earning South Central Regional Player of the Year distinction for a second straight year. Additionally, Zobott and Haist were named all-America with Zobott and Ben Overholt earning Google Cloud Academic All-America honors. Under Mulholland, Mines broke or tied 10 program records and added seven new listings to the Oredigger record book in 2018.

Under the interim tag in 2017, Mulholland led the Orediggers to the NCAA Sweet 16 after winning a RMAC Regular-Season and Tournament titles, going 17-4-1 overall and 13-1-0 in RMAC play. Under Mulholland's guidance. John Haist and Nikolaus Grotz earned two All-America nods each. Haist was named D2CCA Regional Player of the Year, RMAC Player of the Year and RMAC Tournament MVP after scoring the second-most goals in the country (22).

Since joining the staff in 2007, Mulholland has aided Mines to a cumulative record of 128-55-22 as well as four NCAA tournament berths, three RMAC Tournament titles and the 2010, 2015 and 2017 RMAC regular season championships.


In 2017 the team compiled a 17-4-1 record with RMAC regular season and tournament titles and a #9 national finish.


The 2015 season was the best in program history as Mines completed an unbeaten regular season while capturing the RMAC regular-season and Tournament titles. Mines then went deep into the NCAA Tournament, winning the NCAA South Central regional title with a road win at Midwestern State before bowing out in overtime of the Elite Eight to Cal Poly Pomona. Mines ended the season 18-1-3 and was ranked #8 by the NSCAA.

The Orediggers closed the 2014 campaign 12-7-1 all seven losses were decided by one goal, including three in overtime and 9-5-0 in the RMAC for a second straight season.

Mines debuted No. 25 in the final regular season NSCAA top-25 following its third conference tourney crown in five years, a stirring 4-3 shootout decision against Colorado Colorado Springs in Grand Junction.

The men went 11-7-1 in 2013 and finished runner-up in the RMAC at 9-5-0, reaching No. 6 in the national poll before earning an at-large bid to their fifth NCAA tournament in program history and fourth since 2009.

Mines returned to the NCAA postseason for the fourth time in 2012, capturing the RMAC Tournament with a 4-3 upset of previously unbeaten and No. 1 Regis. Despite the toughest schedule in Division II, CSM closed at 14-5-2 (9-3-2 RMAC) and ranked No. 21 in the final NSCAA Top-25 Coaches Poll.

In the NCAA postseason for a second consecutive season in 2010, the men earned the programs first tournament win behind a 5-1 first round defeat of No. 11 Regis.

The Orediggers swept the RMAC regular season and tournament titles and ascended to No. 1 in the top-25 for the first time, eventually settling at No. 9 at 17-2-2 (12-1-1 RMAC). 

Prior to his arrival at Mines, Mulholland spent six years as the assistant and goalkeeper coach at Chatfield High School where he helped the program to a state championship in 2004 and numerous top-10 rankings. In addition, he was the Director of Goalkeeping for The Colorado Girls Soccer Academy from 2002-05.

He formerly served as team and goalkeeper coach for Real Colorado of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.

A native of Littleton and graduate of Central Bucks East High School in Buckingham, Pennsylvania, Mulholland earned his bachelor's degree from Millersville (Pa.) in 2001.

I played my college soccer at NCAA DIII Gordon College in Boston, Massachusetts where I became the first three-time All-American from the school. 

I played my semi-pro summer soccer for Chattanooga FC in Tennessee, before playing one full year on contract for Chattanooga FC in 2019. For Chattanooga FC I appeared in many matches, most notably as a starter against La Liga's Real Betis in a friendly match in which we lost 4-3 in 2019.

I became the assistant coach for Westmont College Women's Soccer, helping them to a successful 13-2-3 season in 2018, before becoming interim head coach in the spring of 2019. I rejoined Chattanooga FC in April 2019 for the entire year, on contract.

I joined Colorado Christian University Men's Soccer in February of 2020.


I currently coach two Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club teams, the 07 Central Select 1 and the 04 Central Select.

Evan Brandsdorfer was named Sarah Lawrence College mens soccer head coach in July of 2019. Brandsdorfer joined the Gryphons after spending the four years as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Saint Peters University.

2019
Brandsdorfer led the Gryphons to new heights in 2019, leading the program to records in wins (6) and league victories (3). 

2021
This season showcased Brandsdorfer's ability to work with all positions, working with goalkeeper Kian Silva who would set the SLC single-season record for goals against average while finishing second in save percentage. 

2022
Brandsdorfer took an incredibly young team and put together one of the program's best seasons. The team set the program mark for winning percentage while there were some individual standout performers as well. Leon Bronshvag tied the SLC single-season assists record with six and Nicholas Fajardo earned a hat trick in an early-season win over Old Westbury.

Saint Peters posted 21 victories during Brandsdorfers tenure, highlighted by a conference playoff appearance and an eight-win campaign in 2018, the Peacocks most wins in a season since 2010. The Peacocks 21 wins are eight more than the previous four years combined before his addition to the staff. Brandsdorfer mentored five All-MAAC selections and two All-ECAC performers while in Jersey City.

Brandsdorfer was one of four mens collegiate coaches selected to the United Soccer Coaches 2018-19 Class of the 30 Under 30 Program. The class featured 15 men and 15 women that were selected from a pool of nearly 400 applicants. Launched in 2013, the 30 Under 30 Program is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity designed to support up-and-coming members of the coaching profession who are 30 years of age or younger.  

Prior to Saint Peters, Brandsdorfer served as an assistant coach at Division I NJIT for the 2014 season. He helped the Highlanders to a 7-8-4 overall mark and 2-3-0 record in the Sun Belt Conference. Brandsdorfer coached the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year (Cristian Marcel) and the conference's Defensive Player of the Year (Marko Drljic).

Brandsdorfer also spent a season an assistant coach at Division II Drew in 2013, helping the squad to an 11-4-5 record. The Rangers finished 2-2-3 in the Landmark Conference and participated in the first round of the ECAC Tournament.

Brandsdorfer has also coached in the Premier Development League (PDL), serving as assistant coach for the Jersey Express. At the youth level, Brandsdorfer was an assistant coach for the National Champion u17 team at Cedar Stars Academy, and he has also coached at TSF Academy and the East Brunswick Soccer Club.

Brandsdorfer was a three-year member of the Division 1 Temple mens soccer team, where he appeared in 48 games. The Owls posted a 26-26-4 overall mark and 15-11-1 in league play in his three seasons. He started his collegiate career at North Florida in 2008. Following his collegiate career in the U.S., Brandsdorfer played a year of semipro soccer in Scotland.
 
Brandsdorfer graduated from Temple in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree and earned his Master's Degree from the University of Stirling in the United Kingdom in 2013.

I've coached at the University of Saint Katherine since fall 2018, where I served as an assistant coach with the mens and womens soccer programs. I am now the assistant head coach for the Men's soccer program only. 

I first cam to CA in 2013 with Challenger Sports. I was the Executive Account Manager at Challenger Sports, overseeing Soccer programs across Southern California, Southern Nevada, Arizona & Hawaii. It first started coaching the British Soccer Camps in between College at Sheffield Hallam University, England. My duties included Program Management, Logistics, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Coach Education and Recruitment.

I also coach club soccer with City Soccer Club Carlsbad as the U14 & U15 EA Head Coach and the Head of Player Development for the U14's.The role includes implementing the current curriculum to ensure the holistic development on each individual.

Lastly, I also worked with Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, Sheffield United FC & Wimslow Football Academy in England before coming to the US. 

I currently holds the US Soccer National C License and is working towards obtaining his B license in the near future. I am also studying my MA in Organizational Leadership.

Joey O'Keefe grew up in Victorville, California where he went on to play at Biola University. While at Biola University, Joey was a three-time GSAC All-Conference Player and Player of the Year for the GSAC in his senior season also securing the University's first outright league title. O'Keefe was the only American born athlete to be awarded to the NAIA First Team All-American team in 2015. Joey played 3 years in the USL League 2 for So Cal Seahorses then went on to sign a professional contract to play for BSK Bischofshofen in Salzburg, Austria. O'Keefe is now a scout for the LA Galaxy and travels internationally to recruit players for the Galaxy II USL-Pro squad.

In 2019, O'Keefe became the Assistant Head Coach for USL League 2 side, Southern California Seahorses.

Humphrey Mahowa is a 4th year San Diego Christian College (SDCC) Men's Soccer Coach. For the past 4 years, Mahowa has been instrumental in the success of SDCC Men's Soccer. As a coach, he focuses on cultivating and improving individual student-athlete skills and abilities for the success of the team. His vast knowledge of soccer and experience enables him to connect and motivate players. Humphrey is also the Head Boys Soccer Coach at Crawford High School (CHS). CHS won CIF D4 Championship (2021-2022) and were semi-finalists in the State Championship. Currently, Humphrey is coaching 06 Boys at East County Surf.

It was in his late teen years when Coach Franklyn first discovered the power of soccer, as he describes it, "the power which flows beyond the playing field and into the lives of the players and their families." With this deep conviction and zeal for the beautiful game of soccer combined with character development, Franklyn started his coaching career in 2009.

It didn't take long for Coach Franklyn to realize that coaching is his "sweet spot." After embracing his calling, Coach Franklyn pursued and earned the South African Football Association (SAFA)/ Confederation of African Football (CAF) D and C coaching badges. He furthered his coaching education with an English-based coaching course and continues to pursue growth opportunities abroad.

After completing these coaching courses, Coach Franklyn worked for a soccer organization where he served as the Program Coordinator and the Head Coach of the under 15/17 team for five years. With this organization, he led his teams to success in a variety of soccer tournaments throughout Sweden, winning five trophies during his time of leadership. The most noteworthy tournament, the Gothia Cup, is known as the biggest youth cup in the world with the likes of Barcelona; Juventus; Real Madrid, and many more European participants. To round out his development, Coach Franklyn completed a coaching internship with Ajax Cape Town.

After much thought and prayer, Coach Franklyn left South Africa and moved to Zambia where he joined Operation Mobilization (OM) to begin missionary cross-cultural work. In Zambia, Coach Franklyn served with Sports Link where he was able to combine his knowledge and love for soccer to his most important work of sharing the Gospel with those he worked with. Within the ministry, Coach Franklyn focused on designing a coaching curriculum with the primary goal centered on the spiritual and character development of the coaches under his tutelage. While serving in Zambia, Franklyn was also given the honor and privilege of working with the Kabwe Warriors- a professional soccer team in Zambia.

Dan Balaguero takes the helm as the fourth Head Soccer Coach in Eagle history.

Balaguero served as the Head Soccer Coach at the University of St. Thomas in Houston during the 2016 season with an 11-7-1 record. Prior to St. Thomas, he served as the Associate Head Soccer Coach at Brown University for one year. During that time bears improved from 5-6-6 in 2014 to 10-5-2 in 2015.

His longest coaching tenure was at The University of Texas-Brownsville, a position he held from 2007 to 2015, until the program closed and university was incorporated into the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Under Balaguero, UT-Brownsville went 119-30-11 and won five Red River Conference Champions and appeared in four NAIA National Tournament appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2014. He was the 2014 NAIA Southwest Region Coach of the year and posted the highest winning percentages for NAIA men's soccer in 2010 (17-0-1) and again in 2014 (24-1).

Balaguero, a native of England, was an accomplished player before he began coaching. Collegiately he played at Champlain College and was a two-time NJCAA All-American and the 1996 NJCAA Player of the Year. He then transferred to the University of West Virginia, where he was an All-Big East Team member and First Team Regional All-American. He started his coaching career at his alma mater Champlain College from 2000-2003 where he was 27-17-4 with each of his teams competing in the NJCAA region XII playoffs. Balaguero then spent three seasons at Virginia Intermont College where his teams went 52-14-2 and won [NAIA](http://naia.org/) Region XII Championships in 2003 and 2005.

Coach Linenberger has over 35 years experience in coaching and teaching soccer at all levels.  Over 10 of these years have been as a mens four year college coach and faculty member at Division I, II, III and NAIA institutions including Fresno State, Sacramento State and San Francisco State Universities.   He  has worked as a National Staff coach for US Soccer recruiting and coaching US Youth National Teams at the U14, U17 and U20 levels and instructing & licensing coaches through the US Soccer National Coaching schools A, B, C National Licenses.  He has coached at the US Olympic Sports Festival as well as Regional and State Olympic Development Program teams taking these select groups internationally to compete against some of the top clubs in the world such as AC Milan, Aston Villa, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, VfB Stuttgart.  He has had experience coaching high school boys soccer as well as working as a Technical Director in several state youth associations running their ODP.  Before moving back to San Diego, he worked eight years as the Assistant Director of Soccer and coach at a full-time residential soccer academy; Shattuck-St. Marys.  While at SSM he had the privilege to coach three NSCAA High School All-Americans, National Youth Team players from the USA; Canada: Sweden; Germany and Finland.  His teams played in one US Club Soccer National Final and three Minnesota State Cup Finals earning one Regional Tournament appearance.  He has a Masters Degree in Exercise Science from San Francisco State University and Bachelors Degree in Sports Medicine from San Diego State where he was a four year letterman.  He also possess a California Community Colleges Instructor Credential in Physical Education.  He has taught a variety of Physical Education activity courses as well as classroom courses such as Human Anatomy & Physiology and Kinesiology.  He holds a US Soccer Federation National A coaching license, a B coaching license from the Scottish Football Association, a Brazilian international coaching license and an Advanced Coaching Certificate from the Netherlands.  He has coached and help develop numerous national team and professional players.

Matt Aldama

Matthew Aldama was named the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach in July 2021.

Aldama was previously the team's Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

A 2018 graduate of the University of Saint Katherine, Aldama has also been the Assistant Director of Coaching for the Vista Storm Soccer Club since 2017. He has also obtained his USSF "D" and "E" Licenses.

Andres Ochoa

Andres Ochoa joined the UCLA mens soccer program as an assistant coach in February 2021. 



Ochoa spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons as an assistant coach at Pacific. Between the conclusion of the 2019 season and his arrival in Westwood, he completed his masters degree and played professionally in Italy and Mexico. 



The Guadalajara, Mexico native was a volunteer assistant coach on Ryan Jordens staff at Pacific in 2018, and played under Jorden from 2014-17. 



During the duos one season together on the sideline in Stockton, Pacific posted a 12-5-2 overall record and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Ochoa was promoted to assistant coach before the 2019 campaign, serving as an instrumental figure in the transition to a new coaching staff. 



Ochoa also has coaching experience at the club level, serving as a head coach with Central Valley Surf from 2017-19. 



A four-year starter as a student-athlete at Pacific, he finished his career with 72 career appearances and 18 points (3 goals, 12 assists). Two of his three collegiate goals were game-winners, including a double-overtime golden goal against Loyola Marymount in 2017. Ochoa helped the Tigers to a pair of NCAA Tournament berths as a player before helping Pacific return to the postseason for the third consecutive time as a coach in 2018. 



After earning his B.A. at Pacific, he completed his M.A. in sport management and coaching at the Soccer Management Institute in Rome in 2020. 



While in Rome, he also played with ASD Aranova in the Eccellenza league. During his club career, he has also made stops with FC Wichita in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the Portland Timbers U-23s in the Premier Development League (PDL), and Atlético Capitalino FC in the Liga de Balompié Mexicano.

Lewis moved into the head coaching role at Gonzaga on April 21, 2021. He was named an assistant coach on the Bulldog staff heading into the 2019 season. Lewis came to GU after six seasons as the men's soccer head coach at Corban University.

During his six seasons at Corban, Lewis has led his squad to six straight appearances in the NAIA Championships, three Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament titles and two CCC regular-season championships. In both 2016 and 2018, Corban won its national tournament opening-round match and advanced to the NAIA Championships final site. Also during that time, Lewis spent three full seasons leading the Portland Timbers U23 squad and won a Northwest Division championship in 2017. With the Timbers, he coached numerous players that went on to sign professional contracts, including the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, Siad Haji.

Prior to coaching at Corban, Lewis worked for the Portland Timbers organization from 2010-2013. Lewis' main role was directing the Timbers U-23s program, helping it become one of the elite PDL programs in the country. Seven players from the Timbers U-23s program entered Major League Soccer camps during the 2013 offseason alone. Lewis also coached at Portland Christian High School, where he led the program to the 2008 state title.

Lewis, who also played collegiately at Corban, was inducted as part of the first-ever Warrior Hall of Fame Class in 2010. During his time at Corban (Western Baptist), he helped the program secure four-straight CCC Titles in 1995-1998 and was named the CCC Player of the Year in both 1996 and 1998. Lewis also earned three All-CCC 1st Team honors (1995, 1996, & 1998), while helping lead the Warriors to the 1996 National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship. Lewis was the first player in program, and NAIA history, to be drafted into Major League Soccer when the Dallas Burn (FC Dallas) selected him with the 35th overall selection in the 1999 College Draft. After his time in Dallas, Lewis played professionally indoors for the Portland Pythons of the World Indoor Soccer League.

Longo enters his sixth year as assistant coach for the MIT men's soccer team this fall. Longo has been involved with coaching soccer for the past 14 years which includes two years as the head coach of the Lexington High School Boys Varsity team, where he led the team to a record of 25-4-6 and back-to-back Middlesex League titles in 2014 and 2015. Longo also spent one year as a pro coach of the Lexington United Soccer Club, five years as a staff coach for SFC New England and 11 years as a coach at the Soccer 101 Academy. Longo holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Seton Hall University and a masters in business administration  from Bentley University. Longo was a Division I men's soccer player in the Big East Conference at Seton Hall, starting 62 games in midfield from 2007-2010. Longo also holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma

Coaching for over 20 years at various levels ranging from youth to university. Last 6 years I have coached with CalSouth ODP program. I am also a coaching educator for CalSouth and US Soccer. I have been coaching junior college teams for the last 5 years, 1 year as an assistant and 4 as head coach. The last two have been at Santiago Canyon College on the mens side.
