Wake Forest head men's soccer coach Bobby Muuss announced the hiring of Matt Poplawski as the program's new Volunteer Assistant Coach prior to the 2017 season. He enters his second year in 2018.

In his first year in Winston-Salem, he helped the Deacs to a 19-2-2 overall record and 7-0-1 mark in the ACC. By winning the ACC Championship, Wake Forest became the first team in the league to finish the ACC regular season and Championship undefeated since 1999. The Deacs were rewarded with ACC Offensive Player of the Year (Jon Bakero) and Defensive Player of the Year (Kevin Politz) honors, as each was also named an All-American.

Poplawski is part of a staff which earned the United Soccer Coaches Region Staff of the Year honors in 2017. He helped coach MAC Hermann Trophy winner Jon Bakero and CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year winner Kevin Politz, who became two of the seven Deacons to head to the MLS ranks following the season.

Poplawski joined the Demon Deacons from Penn, where he was a 2017 graduate of the Wharton School of Business, and a two-sport varsity athlete.

On the pitch, Poplawski was a two-time All-Ivy League honoree and two-year team captain. He also played basketball for two seasons, appearing in 17 games.

Chase Wileman

Chase Wileman enters his second season as the Friends of Brown Mens Soccer Head Coaching Chair in 2023-24. Wileman, the seventh head coach in program history, comes to Providence with 11 years of NCAA Division I coaching experience, nine of which were as a top assistant, most recently serving as the associate head coach at the University of Kentucky since July 2018.

 

Duriing his first season in 2022, Wileman guided the Bears to an 8-6-3 record, which included signature wins at Providence and Boston College. Wileman also brought in the 30th ranked recruiting class to Brown in his first full recruiting season.




Wileman started at Kentucky in 2014 as an assistant coach and was promoted to associate head coach before the 2018 season. In his eight seasons, Wileman helped lead the Wildcats to a 100-36-22 overall record and seven NCAA Tournament appearances in eight seasons.

 

While Wileman was at Kentucky, the Wildcats won two Conference USA Regular Season Championships (2015, 2018) and two Conference USA Tournament Championships (2018, 2021). In 2018, Kentucky reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, the best showing in program history. The Wildcats also advanced to the Sweet 16 in each of the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

 

Under Wilemans tutelage, Kentucky saw six players named All-Americans, four tabbed as Conference USA Player of the Year, and four selected in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft.

 

Wileman is no stranger to the Ivy League as prior to his start at Kentucky, he spent three seasons (2011-13) as an assistant coach at Dartmouth. With the Big Green, Wileman served as the lead recruiter for the class that won four straight Ivy League Titles from 2014-17.

 

Dartmouth won the Ivy League Championship in 2011, earning Wileman and the Big Green a berth into the NCAA Tournament.

 

Wileman also has coaching experience at the North Texas Olympic Development Program where he served as a staff coach in 2011 and with FC Dallas as a camp and clinic instructor from 2007-09.

 

Prior to his coaching days, Wileman was a four-year member of the mens soccer team at Southern Methodist University where he made four NCAA Tournament appearances from 2003-06, advancing to the 2005 College Cup. SMU won three regular season conference championships and three conference tournament championships with Wileman on the roster. He served as a team captain in 2006 and was named to the Conference USA First Team and the NSCAA All-Midwest First Team. He was selected in the 2007 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft by FC Dallas where he made numerous appearances from 2007-09.

 

Wileman earned his bachelors degree in markets and culture from SMU in 2007.

 

A native of Grand Prairie, Texas,  Wileman and his wife Chelsea currently reside in Cranston, R.I.

Chris Gores

Chris Gores is in his fifth year as an assistant at Washington on the staff of his former college teammate, Jamie Clark.

During the 2017 season, Gores helped the Huskies again reach the NCAA tournament as UW posted a 12-7-1 overall record. In addition to four victories over NCAA Top 25 teams, Gores helped coach yet another Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in Blake Bodily, who tallied three goals and eight assists. He joined Handwalla Bwana in receiving first-team All-Pac-12 honors with Kyle Coffee, Garrett Jackson, Quentin Pearson and Saif Kerawala earning second-team honors. In addition, Justin Fiddes was selected in the first round of the MLS Superdraft by the Vancouver Whitecaps while Handwalla Bwana signed as a Homegrown Selection with Sounders FC.

2016 saw Gores and the Huskies make it to the third round of the NCAA tournament for the third time in four years.  The Huskies went 14-7-0 that year, outscoring the opposition by 15 goals over the 21-game season.  Gores helped coach Handwalla Bwana to Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors, as well as All-Pac-12 honors for Auden Schilder, Henry Wingo, and Justin Schmidt.

In 2015, Gores helped the Huskies to an 8-5-6 record.  The team allowed just 13 goals in 19 games.  Ryan Herman was named an All-American and First Team All-Pac-12 that year, while Gores helped five other Huskies make it to the All-Pac-12 team.

Gores helped the Huskies to another tremendous season in his first year at UW, finishing with a record of 12-5-3 and a trip to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in 2014. The Dawgs started the year 9-1-0 and earned their first No. 1 national ranking since 1997, before eventually being named the No. 14 seed in the NSCAA Tournament. Gores coached several players who earned honors in 2014, including Cristian Roldan and Andy Thoma who were named Third Team All-American by the NSCAA. Roldan and Darwin Jones were also each named to the First Team All-Pac-12 Team.

Gores comes to Washington from Florida Gulf Coast where he spent one season. For the Eagles, Gores helped FGCU become the first program in Atlantic Sun Conference history to win four straight regular-season championships courtesy of a 6-1-1 league record. After starting the season 0-5-1, including a loss to Washington, Eagles went 8-1-1 over their final 10 regular-season games. During that span FGCU out-scored its opponents 14-6, including 12-4 in A-Sun action.

Before joining the Eagles, Gores spent three seasons as an assistant coach for the Harvard mens soccer team, where he focused heavily on recruiting, and helped coach the team to numerous upsets against nationally ranked opponents.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Gores spent eight years playing professionally for five different teams in the United Soccer League. Additionally, Gores served as captain of the Puerto Rico Mens National Team, competing in both the 2010 World Cup qualifiers and the 2005 Digicel Cup.

Gores played collegiately at Stanford alongside Clark, where they led the nation in scoring defense and helped the Cardinal finish second in the NCAA Tournament during the 1998 season. He graduated in 2000 with a degree in international relations.

In 2011 Gores received the FIFA recognized United States Soccer Federation National A License.

Scott Krotee

Scott Krotee wrapped up his fourth season as a volunteer assistant coach on the Saint Josephs mens soccer staff in Fall 2017. Krotees primary responsibility is working with SJUs goalkeepers.

From 2016-17, Krotee coached goalkeeper Greg O'Connell to three Philadelphia Soccer Six Defender of the Week honors and two Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week honors in a pair of seasons in which O'Connell recorded nine wins and seven shutouts in 34 appearances. Under Krotee's direction and in just two seasons as SJU's primary goalkeeper, O'Connell broke into SJU's all-time top ten in career goals against average (1.54), career saves (150, through 35 career matches), and career shutouts (7).

From 2014-15, Krotee coached goalkeeper Bobby Edwards to 2014 Philadelphia Soccer Six All-Rookie Team honors, as well as six weekly accolades between the A-10 and Philadelphia Soccer Six. Additionally, Krotee coached O'Connell to Philadelphia Soccer Six Defender of the Week honors after the sophomore's first collegiate appearance in 2015.

Previously, Krotee played professionally for four years. In 2015 and 2016, he was ranked among the "Top 100 American Goalkeepers Prospects for the 2018 World Cup."

Most recently, he was the goalkeeper for the Harrisburg Heat out of the Major Arena Soccer League. In 2015-16, he played 10 matches totaling 194 saves in 578:55 for a .721 save percentage. In 2014-15, Krotee played one full match, making 13 saves, before suffering a season-ending injury.

Prior to the Heat, Krotee signed with MLS's Columbus Crew USL Pro affiliate club Dayton Dutch Lions on June 2, 2014 and appeared in one match over the course of that season.

From 2013-14, Krotee competed for the Pennsylvania Roar of the Major Indoor Soccer League. In nine games with the Roar, he posted a .706 save percentage in 346:34 to earn MISL All-Rookie Team accolades.

In 2012, Krotee made appearances with Reading United AC, the MLSs Philadelphia Union player-development partner, in the Premier Development League, with whom he posted a 0.55 goals-against average in 165 minutes in net.

Krotee enjoyed a decorated four-year career as a Division I goalkeeper at Gardner-Webb University from 2008-12. Krotee ranked fifth nationally in total saves (107) and sixth nationally in saves per game (5.94) in his senior season and led the Big South in shutouts as a junior. He graduated with school records for lowest career goals-against average (1.39) and lowest single-season goals-against average (1.10).

A 2012 College Sports Madness All-Big South Preseason Second Team selection, the senior captain was twice named to the Soccer For A Cure All-Tournament Team and earned 2011 Big South Conference Championship All-Tournament Team honors. In 2008, he received the inaugural Wilson Soccer Alumni Association Scholarship and was a member of the Disney Soccer Showcase National Championship squad.

Krotee spent three seasons with Reading United AC U-20 from 2006-09. Prior to that, he was a member of the Olympics Development Program First Team (USA EPYSA) from 2002-04.

Krotee earned his masters degree in international marketing from Saint Joseph's University in Fall 2015. He earned his undergraduate degree in Health/Wellness from Gardner-Webb University in May 2012.

Tom Potts

Potts was hired as Navys volunteer assistant coach for the mens soccer program in July of 2019

Before Navy, Potts began his collegiate coaching career at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland. As the assistant coach and goalkeeper coach, he helped the Dragons to a 12-9 record and three shutouts. Howard went on to win the Region 20 Tournament and made it to the NJCAA National Tournament.

Along with coaching at Howard Community College, Potts coaches with Born to Fly soccer program, Maryland State Olympic Development Program, Next Level Soccer Club, and Baltimore Armour Developmental Academy. He started coaching in youth soccer in the Winter of 2017 with Born to Fly.

Potts currently holds a US Soccer National D Coaching License. He also complete the United Soccer Coaches Level 1 Goalkeeper Course.

Potts started his collegiate playing career at UMBC playing the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Retrievers. He also played in the Spring of 2018 with Georgia Southern.

Potts is currently pursuing his Bachelors of Science in Sport Management with a Minor in Business Administration at Towson University.

Brandon Tucker

Former Colorado Rapids forward Brandon Tucker joined the Furman staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2017 season.

Brandon Tucker will be a great addition to our staff, said Paladin head coach Doug Allison. He has played for and coached with Coach Boulware and was a tremendous player with the Region IV team, Presbyterian and as a professional. His experience as a college coach and as a player at the professional level will make him a great fit for Furman.

Tucker, a native of Englewood, Colo., played his college soccer for Paladin assistant coach Bret Boulware at Presbyterian College before serving as assistant coach from 2009-11 and as associate head coach for the Blue Hose from 2012-13. He earned All-South Atlantic Conference honors and NSCAA All-Region accolades three times during his playing career. As a coach, he helped Presbyterian transition into NCAA Division I soccer.

This past season, Tucker helped lead the Paladins to an 11-7-1 overall record and the program's league record 20th Southern Conference regular season title with a 5-1-0 mark. Furman placed seven players on All-Southern Conference teams, including in the inclusion of Rocky Guerra, Cole McLagan and Jack Shiels on the first team.

In second season since returning to the Paladin program, Furman posted a 13-7-2 record, claimed its 14th Southern Conference Tournament crown and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after edging UNCW in an opening-round penalty shootout. Laurence Wyke, the SoCon Tournament's Most outstanding Player, joined league goalkeeper of the year Ben Hale in earning first team All-SoCon honors.

In his first season at Furman, Tucker helped the Paladins to a 12-5-3 overall record and a 5-2-3 Southern Conference mark. The Paladins made a return to the national rankings on the strength of a six-match winning streak that included a triumph over then No. 4-ranked Denver. Junior Laurence Wyke garnered SoCon Player of the Year honors and United Soccer Coaches All-South Region accolades.

A 2010 inductee into the Colorado Soccer Hall of Fame, Tucker played for the Colorado Rapids in 2008 and 2009. He also played professionally for the Denver Dragons of the Premier Arena Soccer League.

I am truly thankful to Doug Allison for the opportunity to join the Furman Mens Soccer staff, said Tucker. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Allison and the very successful program he has built. Making the decision to get back into coaching after being away for four years was something that took a lot of reflection, but after meeting the team and knowing the history behind the program with the ability for me to learn from one of the best in college soccer made my decision that much easier. Along with building new relationships with alumni and the Furman community, I am looking forward to working with my longtime coach, friend and mentor Bret Boulware. My family and I are eager to join the Furman University family and I am excited for the future of Furman Mens Soccer.

Since 2002, Tucker has served as a head coach and administrator with COEVER, Colorados premier soccer training academy.

Tucker graduated from Presbyterian College in 2007 with a degree in business administration and a concentration in management. He and his wife Anastashia are the parents of three children, Skie, Harper, and Sawyer.

Christy Gates-Bowes

Christy Gates-Bowes enters his second season as Assistant Coach with the UCSB Mens soccer program and brings 12 years of coaching experience with him.

Christy most recently served as the Mens lead Assistant Coach at Santa Barbara City College for two seasons, helping the Vaqueros reach back to back play-off appearances. 

Gates-Bowes began his coaching career at Brighton and Hove Albion FC in England where he worked with the youth development programs. Christy also worked with the Men's Soccer teams at the University of Sussex before moving to the United States in 2015 where he worked in the technical department of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association. Gates-Bowes currently holds the role of Academy Director at Santa Barbara Soccer club where he oversees the newly formed Boy's MLS Elite Youth Development Platform.

A native of Brighton, England, Christy played his football at Brighton, Hove and Sussex College. Coach Gates-Bowes holds a USSF A License and a UEFA B License.

Aaron Lewis

Lewis moved into the head coaching role at Gonzaga on April 21, 2021. He was named an assistant coach on the Bulldog staff heading into the 2019 season. Lewis came to GU after six seasons as the men's soccer head coach at Corban University.

During his six seasons at Corban, Lewis has led his squad to six straight appearances in the NAIA Championships, three Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament titles and two CCC regular-season championships. In both 2016 and 2018, Corban won its national tournament opening-round match and advanced to the NAIA Championships final site. Also during that time, Lewis spent three full seasons leading the Portland Timbers U23 squad and won a Northwest Division championship in 2017. With the Timbers, he coached numerous players that went on to sign professional contracts, including the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, Siad Haji.

Prior to coaching at Corban, Lewis worked for the Portland Timbers organization from 2010-2013. Lewis' main role was directing the Timbers U-23s program, helping it become one of the elite PDL programs in the country. Seven players from the Timbers U-23s program entered Major League Soccer camps during the 2013 offseason alone. Lewis also coached at Portland Christian High School, where he led the program to the 2008 state title.

Lewis, who also played collegiately at Corban, was inducted as part of the first-ever Warrior Hall of Fame Class in 2010. During his time at Corban (Western Baptist), he helped the program secure four-straight CCC Titles in 1995-1998 and was named the CCC Player of the Year in both 1996 and 1998. Lewis also earned three All-CCC 1st Team honors (1995, 1996, & 1998), while helping lead the Warriors to the 1996 National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship. Lewis was the first player in program, and NAIA history, to be drafted into Major League Soccer when the Dallas Burn (FC Dallas) selected him with the 35th overall selection in the 1999 College Draft. After his time in Dallas, Lewis played professionally indoors for the Portland Pythons of the World Indoor Soccer League.

Two-time all-conference forward Tyler Madeira joined the Muhlenberg men's soccer coaching staff for the 2021 season. Since his arrival at Muhlenberg, the Mules have won an ECAC Championship as well as a Centennial Conference Championship in back-to-back seasons.

Madeira played four years at Bloomsburg University, finishing his career with 39 points on 17 goals and 5 assists. He earned a spot on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference team twice, making the second team as a junior and the first team as a senior. Madeira led the Huskies with 10 goals in 2018, becoming the first Bloomsburg player in 15 years to record a hat trick.

Mike Singleton will begin his seventh season as W&L's Head Men's Soccer Coach during the 2020 season. Over his first six seasons, he has led the Generals to 88 wins, three ODAC titles, five consecutive trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament, and two NCAA Sweet Sixteen trips.



in 2019 his team earned a 17-3-3 record while scoring more goals (59) than any W&L Men;s Soccer team in history. This team won the conference title and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament as well. 8 players were named all-conference, 5 players named all-region and Oliver Dolberg earned both Scholar All-American and All-American honors.

Singleton's fifth season at the helm marked a historic year for the Generals. He led the team to a 14-3-2 record and a 9-0-1 mark in the ODAC, the second undefeated season in conference play in the last 20 years (10-0-0 in 2015). In addition, the Generals ended the year on a 15-game unbeaten streak, breaking the program record of 12 set in 2000, as the team went 13-0-2 to end the season. Under Singleton's leadership, the Generals won their fifth ODAC championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for a program-record fourth consecutive season. Singleton also claimed his second ODAC Coach of the Year award and coached senior midfielder Dylan Ritch '19 to D3soccer.com First Team All-America honors, the first All-American for the program since 2007. A program-record eight players were named to the All-ODAC teams, including Ritch being named the Player of the Year for the second time in his career, while first-year defender Jack Rawlins '22 claimed Rookie of the Year laurels.



The 2017 season yielded Singleton's third straight year with at least 15 wins as the Generals advanced to the NCAA Division III Third Round for the first time since 2000, dropping a 3-0 decision to North Park after falling in the ODAC championship game, 2-1, to Lynchburg. Under Singleton's guidance, junior midfielder Will Hamryka '19 was named the first Scholar All-American in program history, earning second team honors from the United Soccer Coaches. In addition, Singleton and his coaching staff were named the United Soccer Coaches South Atlantic Regional Staff of the Year. Six players received All-ODAC laurels, including Hamryka and Oliver Dolberg who were both named second team All-Region.



Singletons 2016 squad went 15-5-2 overall and made its second straight appearance in the ODAC Championship game. The Generals received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the second round before falling to Franklin & Marshall, 2-0. Singleton mentored seven all-conference honorees, including Dylan Ritch 19, who earned ODAC Player of the Year accolades. W&L was ranked as high as fifth nationally and finished the season 24th in the NSCAA Poll.



In 2015, Singleton tabbed Coach of the Year after leading the Generals to the program's fourth ODAC title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The Blue and White defeated Methodist, 3-0, in the first round of action, but fell to Haverford, 2-1, in the second round. W&L finished the season with a 16-4-2 overall record and seven Generals earned all-conference honors, along with Ben Bayles '16 being named Player of the Year.



Singleton led the Generals to an 11-5-2 overall record and a 6-4-1 mark in conference play in his first season. W&L advanced to the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament, before falling to Roanoke, 5-1.



Singleton previously served as the head coach at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he led the Engineers to a 35-18-4 record, one New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship and two NCAA Tournament berths in three seasons (2011-13).



Singleton's 2012 and 2013 teams both finished with identical 13-5-2 overall records and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament. MIT won the 2012 NEWMAC title before bowing out to Oneonta State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. His 2013 squad won the NEWMAC regular season title with a 6-0-1 league mark and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after falling in the conference final. The season ended with a 2-0 loss to Western New England in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Singleton was awarded the league's Coach of the Year Award for his efforts. Additionally, two different Engineers earned All-America honors during his time there.



In addition to coaching the Engineers, Singleton also served as the executive director of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association since 2010, overseeing the staffing and day-to-day operations, and managing a $10 million field complex. For the seven years prior, he had served as the association's head state coach and director of coaching.



Singleton is also a United States Youth Soccer Region I ODP Senior Staff Coach, the U16 Region Head Coach, as well as a United States National Staff Coach, working as both a coach and psychologist at the U14 National Camp and helping to construct National license courses. Singleton has also served as a technical committee member for both the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2003 Women's World Cup.



Collegiately, Singleton was the head men's soccer coach and assistant women's soccer coach at St. Joseph's College in Indiana from 1997-99, assistant men's coach at the University of Delaware in 2001 and assistant women's soccer coach at Emerson College from 2008-10.



Singleton is a 1995 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts in psychology and English. He earned a master's degree in clinical psychology from Purdue University in 1998. He currently holds a USSF "A" License, a FIFA Futuro III Diploma and a NSCAA Premier License.

This is my fourth season as the Emory Men' Soccer 2nd Assistant. My primary duties are working with attacking components that fit our system. I'm also heavily involved with the fitness of the team and charting progress throughout the season to help our head coach making decisions based upon the fitness of our players. Video analysis and scouting reports also are a part of my duties along with recruiting.

In my three previous seasons we had a record of 40-16-3 along with a Elite Eight appearance in the 2017 NCAA D-III tournament. 

In addition to coaching at Emory University I'm also a high school coach. I'm currently in my 20th year as a head coach with 254 wins, 3 state championships (Grayson, Brookwood, and Parkview) along with a state runner-up. I've been NSCAA Georgia Coach of the Year on three occasions, NSCAA South Regional Coach of the Year Twice, and NSCAA National Coach of the Year Finalist twice.

Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Wesleyan mens soccer program in 2020 after previously serving as the assistant boy's varsity soccer coach at the Noble & Greenough School for the last four seasons. During his time with the Nobles, Pratt helped guide the team to the NEPSAC Class B Tournament in 2016 and 2018. He also worked as an Upper and Middle School Mathematics Teacher, an Advisor and an Admissions Officer.

Prior to his time at Noble & Greenough School, Pratt spent the first half of the 2014 season with BK Søllerød-Vedbaek in the Danish 2nd Division, before teaching at the Cambridge Arts Technology & Science Academy for eight months.

A 2014 graduate of Colby College, Pratt was a co-captain his senior year and earned the Coachs Award for dedication to the program. During his time with the Mules, Pratt earned Second Team All-NESCAC in 2013.

Cody Carlson stepped into the newly formed role of full-time Assistant Mens Soccer Coach under the direction of Head Coach Ralph Perez in July 2018. 

Most recently, Carlson served as the Director of Operations for Mens Soccer at the University of Portland.  He contributed to the Pilots tied-for-second-place showing in the West Coast Conference by assisting with equipment management, video analysis, camp development, team travel, among other things. He also coached the U-12 and U-15 boys age groups at FC Portland and won the 2018 Presidents Cup in Oregon with the U-15 team. 

A student of the game, he currently holds his United States Soccer Federation B Coaching License and was recently named the Head Coach for Redlands F.C., which competes in USL League 2.

Carlson originally worked with the Bulldogs from 2014 to 2017, both as a graduate assistant and then in a part-time role.  While at Redlands, he helped the squad gain its highest national ranking ever when it reached No. 7 upon conclusion of the 2016 campaign.  The Bulldogs captured the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) regular-season championship each of his three seasons while also securing the SCIAC Postseason Tournament title in 2015 and 2016.  The Maroon and Gray advanced to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals in 2016 to better the squads second-round appearance from the previous year. Carlson was among the 2015 SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-West Region Staff of the Year in 2015 and 2016. 

Overall, Carlson assisted in the development and success of 12 All-SCIAC players, one SCIAC Athlete of the Year, and eight NSCAA All-West Region selections.  With academics as a priority, he also coached three NSCAA Scholar All-Americans and a pair of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District honorees.

In addition to coaching, Carlson completed his Master of Arts in Management through the School of Business at the University of Redlands.

In 2016, Carlson also served as the Head Coach of the Redlands High School boys varsity team.  In that one year, he elevated the Terriers from eighth place in the Citrus Belt League to third place while also making the CIF playoffs.  Finally, he gained coaching experience by leading the IER Pateadores B2000s and Riverside Coras of the NPSL.

Carlson earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Redlands in 2012. As a four-year student-athlete, he competed for the Bulldog mens soccer program and earned significant awards along the way. His presence on the field was unmatched during the 2011 season, as the Bulldog forward earned the 2011 SCIAC Athlete of the Year award.   In addition, he was a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection and landed on the NSCAA All-West Region team on three occasions.  After the 2010 season, he became an NSCAA All-American.

During his tenure, the Bulldogs won the SCIAC Championship in three of his four seasons and twice advanced to the NCAA Championships.  As a senior, Carlson played an integral role in the teams 16-game win streak en route to an NCAA Sweet 16 run.

Furthermore, he shined in the classroom, earning 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-District honors and 2011 NSCAA Scholar All-America accolades.

He currently resides in Redlands.

Cameron Bushéy

Cameron Bushéy became the men's soccer assistant coach at California State University, Stanislaus in 2020. Bushéy was previously the assistant mens soccer coach at Gonzaga University from 2018-2020. Prior to that, he was the head coach of the mens first team and a Director of Coaching from 2015-2018 at the Spokane Shadow Soccer Club as well as the assistant mens soccer coach at Spokane Falls Community College where he was able to give back to the soccer community that he grew up in.

uis Rincon is preparing to enter his second season as head coach of the Francis Marion University men's soccer program.

Rincon was named to his new post on Feb. 14, 2019, and became the seventh head coach in the 44-year history of the Francis Marion program. 

In his first year, he guided the Patriots to a 16-5-1 record, the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Tournament title, and the program's third-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.  FMU finished the season ranked No.22 in the United Soccer Coaches final NCAA II Top 25 poll, after being nationally ranked for seven weeks during the regular season, including three weeks in the Top 10.  The team's win total was the third-highest total in team history, including a first-round victory in the NCAA Tournament.  FMU led the Peach Belt with a 0.74 goals against average and a school-record 11 shutouts. 

Rincon received the 2020 Frankie Award for Head Coach of the Year, and the 2019 Patriot men's soccer squad received the 2020 Frankie Award for Most Outstanding Team.

A native of Bogota, Colombia, prior to coming to Florence Rincon headed the Ohio Valley mens program for the past four seasons, registering a 55-23-7 record and earning a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.

In his final season (2018), he guided OVU to an 18-6-1 mark and an appearance in the Elite Eight of the national tournament.  The Fighting Scots finished the year ranked No.10 after reaching as high as second in the nation.

His 2017 squad posted a 17-2-4 record that included both the Great Midwest Conference regular-season and tournament titles and an NCAA Tournament invitation.  The team was nationally ranked for eight consecutive weeks, finishing the year at No.6.

He took over an OVU mens program that was 0-17-0 before his arrival and immediately turned the program around.  His first squad went 9-8-1 and garnered the programs first-ever berth in the Great Midwest Conference Tournament.  The next year, the Fighting Scots produced an 11-7-1 campaign, setting a school-record for wins in a season, and placed second during the G-MAC regular season.

He also guided the OVU womens team to a two-year record of 33-4-6, including two conference regular-season and tournament titles, and two NCAA Tournament bids.

Prior to taking the OVU position, he served four seasons as an assistant coach for both mens and womens soccer at his alma mater, Texas A&M International University.  Also during that time, he worked as an assistant instructor for weight training, aerobic training, and soccer.

He also worked for three years as a mens and womens assistant at another of his alma maters, Warner University in Lake Wales, Fla., and has experience coaching with the Eden Prairie Soccer Club in Minneapolis, Minn.

Rincon earned a B.A. degree in business administration from Warner in 2008 and an M.B.A. degree in international business from Texas A&M International in 2010.  He holds an advanced national diploma from the NSCAA.

Andy Kohel

Andy Kohel was named head men's soccer coach at Johnson & Wales University in January 2018. Kohel comes to JWU after serving as an assistant coach at Colorado College for the last three seasons.

While a member of the Tiger's coaching staff, Kohel helped coach the squad to a 41-10-9 record over three years and saw numerous players recognized for Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and United Soccer Coaches (USC) honors. As an assistant for Colorado College, Kohel was charged with video analysis, scouting, planning trainings and coordinating on-campus visits for recruits among other tasks. He has also worked with Rush Pikes Peak Soccer Club since January 2016, overseeing youth player development as part of the coaching staff.

Before joining the CC coaching staff, Kohel spent four seasons as an assistant at his alma mater, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. During his tenure, the Titans went 48-18-11 and captured the 2014 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championship and earned a spot in the 2013 NCAA Division III Championship.

Alongside his work with the Titans, Kohel also worked with FC Green Bay Soccer Club as a member of the coaching staff.

Kohel played his undergraduate career at UW-Oshkosh and was a four-year starter for the Titans. UW-Oshkosh went 52-16-11 in his career and as a senior advanced to the national semifinals of the NCAA tournament after going 20-1-3.

He holds a USSF 'B' Coaching license and earned his bachelor's degree in History.

Johnson & Wales University's Director of Athletics Tom Byrnes said of the appointment, "we are thrilled to have a coach of Andy's caliber lead our program.  He has seen the intricacies of successful programs and has seen first-hand the quality of play within the SCAC as we move towards membership in the conference. He has shown he can achieve at a high level due to his work ethic, competitive spirit and "all-in" attitude; he will bring these traits to our program as our coach as well. "

Rob Esposito

Rob Esposito currently assists Matt Viggiano in coaching the Marist Red Foxes. As a student-athlete, Esposito played at Herkimer Community College from 2004-2006, where the team finished as national runners-up in 2004 and won a National Championship in 2005. Following his time at Herkimer, Esposito enrolled at SUNY Fredonia, playing from 2006-2008, when the team finished as SUNYAC runners-up in 2006 and conference champions in 2007. During his time at Fredonia, Esposito was named NSCAA All-Region twice and after graduation, played for the Westchester Flames of the PDL.

Esposito began coaching in 2011 at Dutchess Community College, before he was hired as an assistant at Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh from 2012-17, winning a conference championship during the 2013 season. Esposito holds a FAW C License.

Marc Colwell

Colwell just completed his twelfth season with the Illinois Tech soccer program and also serves as the department's Senior Associate Director of Athletics. Colwell begins his ninth season as head coach of the men's soccer team.  
Colwell, a native of South Bend, Indiana, was assistant women's coach for Saint Mary's College in 2009 and assistant men's soccer and goalkeeper coach Bethel College in 2008. The Pilots advanced to the NAIA National Tournament that season. He was also the Assistant Director of Coaching for the Junior Irish Soccer Club for three seasons.
Prior to that, Colwell was head coach for both the men's and women's teams at NCAA DIII Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, for five seasons. At Lakeland, Colwell guided the women's team to two NCAA Tournament appearances, three conference tournament championships and three regular season conference championships in five seasons.
Before Lakeland, Colwell served as the Assistant Mens and Womens Soccer Coach at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. During the 2000-01 Season the women advanced to NAIA Regional Semi-finals and were ranked 10th in the nation. The mens team finished 13-5-2. Colwell began his coaching career as Assistant Mens Soccer Coach at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana from 1998-2000. Earlham was a Division III National Tournament participant in 1998 and set school record for wins in a season in 1999 with a 16-3-1 record.
He holds his USSF B, NSCAA Advanced National, NSCAA Youth National, and his Scottish Football Association B License.

Harlan Milder

Coach Milder joined the Doane University coaching staff in the spring of 2019. He brings a great wealth of knowledge to the program with more than 30 years of coaching experience, both at the club level and high school level.

Most recently, he served as the head coach at Lincoln Pius X High School where his teams won two state championships and finished with two runner-up finishes. He has served as a club coach in both Omaha and Lincoln as well as serving as a coach for the Nebraska Olympic Development program.

Milder is a nationally licensed coach by the USSF and NSCAA. He has also served as an instructor for the Nebraska State Soccer Association.

Josh Oldroyd

Josh Oldroyd enters his first season as assistant coach for the Pitt mens soccer team in 2023. Oldroyd will work with the Panthers goalkeepers.
 
Oldroyd comes to Pittsburgh following five successful seasons as assistant coach at the University of Kentucky where he worked with the Wildcats goalkeepers.
 
The 2022 campaign was another impressive year for the Wildcats as they posted a 15-1-5 overall record while going 5-0-3 in Sun Belt Conference games while earning their first Sun Belt Tournament title and earning the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament. After advancing to their third straight NCAA Championship Sweet 16, the Wildcats fell 2-1 to Pitt for their lone loss of the season.
 
Under Oldroyds tutelage, true freshman goalkeeper Casper Mols put together one of the best seasons between the pipes in program history as he earned First Team All-America honors to go along with Sun Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and All-Sun Belt Conference Tournament team. The Aabernaa, Denmark native finished off his first season with a 11-1-4 overall record, a 0.76 goals-against average, .700 save percentage and seven shutouts. Overall during the 2022 season, the Wildcats goalkeepers allowed just 16 goals across 23 games.
 
The 2021 season was one to remember for Kentucky as Oldroyd helped lead the Wildcats to their second C-USA Tournament championship title in program history after defeating Florida Atlantic in an overtime thriller. Kentucky then went on to its fourth NCAA Championship Sweet 16 appearance.
 
Kentuckys award haul in 2021 was nothing short of impressive. The Wildcats landed three players on the All-C-USA First Team, one on the Second Team, three on the Third Team, two on the All-Freshman Team, and four on the All-Tournament Team. Goalkeeper Jan Hoffelner was named the C-USA Goalkeeper of the Year and earned the Golden Boot Award, while he joined Luis Grassow and Marcel Meinzer on the USCA All-Region First Team.

Under Oldroyd, Hoffelner became the third UK player to ever earn United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-American in 2021. Hoffelner was also a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and concluded the season as the NCAA Division I outright leader in goals-against average (.417), also tied for first with 12 shutouts.

During an extended 2020 season, Oldroyd helped guide the Wildcats to the third NCAA Championship Sweet 16 appearance in school history, marking the second such appearance in the last three seasons. Between the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters, redshirt senior Aimé Mabika was selected with the 26th pick in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft by Inter Miami FC. One week prior, Kalil ElMedkhar signed a two-year contract with FC Dallas after his Homegrown Rights were acquired from the Philadelphia Union.

At the conclusion of the spring, Mabika earned United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region honors and six Wildcats received C-USA postseason accolades, including first-team All-C-USA performer and C-USA Co-Midfielder of the Year Marcel Meinzer. Redshirt junior Leon Jones earned first-team All-C-USA and United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region distinction before embarking on his professional career with Dunfermline Athletic FC in his home country of Scotland.

In 2019, Oldroyd helped lead Kentucky to an NCAA Tournament victory at home for the second consecutive season with a 2-1 overtime victory over Loyola Chicago. Four Wildcats received United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region recognition, while seven earned Conference USA honors at the end of the season. Mabika was named C-USA Player of the Year and a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American.

Oldroyd was part of UKs United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region Staff of the Year as the Wildcats marched to one of the most historic seasons in program history in 2018. The Wildcats enjoyed a record-setting fall that year, winning both the C-USA regular season and tournament title, setting the school record for wins (19), reaching the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, going 5-1 against top-25 opponents, and welcoming multiple 3,000-plus crowds to The Bell.

Working with the teams goalkeepers, Oldroyd helped Enrique Facusse earn United Soccer Coaches All-America honors in 2018. Overall, three Wildcats JJ Williams (First Team), Facusse (Second Team) and Mabika (Third Team) were named All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches for the 2018 season. Williams was a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, the highest individual award in college soccer, as he went on to sign a Generation Adidas Contract and be a first-round pick of Columbus Crew in the MLS SuperDraft.

Facusse was also named All-Region for the second year in a row as well as first-team All-C-USA. His .49 goals-against average ranked fourth nationally and his .84 save percentage ranked 12th in Division I. Facusse also led the nation in shutouts.

Oldroyd joined the UK staff after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Evansville where the Purple Aces went a combined 21-16-5. His main duties involved training the teams goalkeepers as well as working with the overall defensive strategy and scouting. 

He worked at Lindsey Wilson College as an assistant coach prior to joining the Evansville staff where he helped the Blue Raiders to a NAIA National Tournament berth in 2016.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Oldroyd enjoyed a stellar playing career at Bryan College in the NAIA. The Leeds, England, native was a three-time all-league honoree, capping his senior season with the Appalachian Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year award. During his time with the Lions, he helped the team claim both a regular season and tournament crown.

Before his move to the United States, Oldroyd spent time with Altofts FC in West Yorkshire, England, and played a part in the clubs U19 squad lifting the Northern Alliance Premier League title in 2011. He also competed with the Leeds United FC academy as well as with NEW College Pontefract.

Nate Millette

Millette has been instrumental in the transition of the mens soccer program to the Division I ranks. Over the course of the five year reclassification period, Millette has helped the program improve immensely, both on the field and in the classroom.  The Bulldogs came off their best season since joining the Division I ranks, finishing 9-5-3 in 2014, earning the program's second-straight Division I postseason appearance and setting records for most wins in a season (9), NEC wins in a season (5), the highest finish in the NEC Standings (2nd), and five All-NEC recipients. Millette continues to play a key role in all aspects of the Bulldog program from recruiting and scouting, to student-athlete development.  Joining the Bryant University community in 2007, Millette worked as a Graduate Assistant to the Athletic Administration, focusing on the areas of Event Management, Equipment Room, and Facility Operations.  In 2008, he joined the Mens Soccer program as an Assistant Coach while continuing his role in Operations through 2010, following the completion of his MBA. 2008 is also when Millette started his career as a youth soccer coach with Bruno United FC.  While assisting with the U15 and U16 Boys Clubs they won three straight State Cup Titles.  In 2011, Nate led the U16 Bayside FC Boys to the US Region I Championships in Lancaster, PA. Millette graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2006 with a Bachelors degree from the renowned Sport Management program as a part of The Isenburg School of Business.  He also received a minor in Psychology while attending UMass.  Millette was a walk-on freshmen for the Minutemen Soccer program.  He also played for the Western Mass Pioneers in the USL Super-20 League before his career was cut short because of injury prior to his junior season.  During his senior year, Nate was the Assistant Coach for the Amherst HS Boys team and was the Director of Operations for the Third Annual SoccerFest tournament sponsored by ADIDAS. A native of Scituate, R.I., Millette graduated from Scituate HS in 2002 where he played four years of soccer, basketball, and baseball.  While excelling at all three sports, he was a standout soccer player in the open-division and was named All-Conference for four consecutive years.  As a senior-captain, Millette finished second in the league in points splitting time at center back and center midfield, earning All-State honors.   A staple in the RI premier soccer league, Nate won 6 state cup titles with the Northern Lightning, South Coast United, and Mid-State Stompers.

Jamie Cleland began his first season as an assistant coach on the Delaware men's soccer staff during the 2022 season.

Cleland serves as the Blue Hens goalkeepers coach after spending the last three seasons in the same role at Monmouth University.

Cleland achieved great success in coaching the Blue Hens' goalkeepers in 2023. Clelands ability to succeed with multiple personnel in net was quite apparent. The assistant coach featured three different goalkeepers throughout the season as the result of injuries, having success with all of them. Each goalkeeper finished with at least one win and one tie. On average, Blue Hens goalkeeping only allowed 1.77 goals per game. Combined, the Hens goalies combined for 49 saves, which resulted in a 59% save rate. The Hens also shut out opponents in three matches. Clelands work with the goaltenders and team as a whole heavily contributed to the Hens nine-win season as well as moving onto the semi-finals in the CAA Tournament.

Cleland helped guide Monmouth to one of the best seasons in program history in the spring of 2021. The Hawks won the MAAC Championship as the No. 6 seed, and defeated Bowling Green in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. By the end of the season, Monmouth was receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and had an RPI as high as nine. The team won four straight road games en route to the conference championship, including a victory at No. 1 Quinnipiac. Under Cleland's guidance, Sean Murray was tabbed the MAAC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year.

Monmouth won eight matches last fall, and advanced to the MAAC Tournament Semifinals. Murray led the conference with a 1.06 goals against average while earning Second Team All-MAAC recognition.

Cleland has also been the director of goalkeeping at TSF Academy in Lincoln Park, N.J. during the last two years. Additionally, he previously served as head goalkeeper coach at Cedar Stars Academy and Arsenal Soccer Schools USA.

Cleland was a two-year starter at St. Peters University, where he earned his degree in sports management in May, 2017.

Andrew Storton

Andrew Storton is entering his seventh season as an associate men's soccer coach at Connecticut College in 2025. He assists head coach Reuben Burk with all aspects of the program.



In 2024, Storton helped lead the Camels to the NESCAC Title, a 14-3-7 record, and a return to the Men's Soccer National Title game. In the NESCAC Championship, the Camels defeated hosted Middlebury 3-1, to hand the Panthers their first loss of the season, while bringing home the first NESCAC Championship for a men's team. Following the season, Storton and head coach Reuben Burk were named NCAA Men's Division III National Coaching Staff of the Year for the second time by United Soccer Coaches.


Storton was an integral part of the most successful season in school history, as the Camels went 19-4-1 and captured the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer National Championship, joining Burk in being named USC National Coaching Staff of the Year. After securing an overtime victory against Washington & Lee in the semifinals, Conn College prevailed over Amherst in penalty kicks in the title game. It marked the institution's first team national championship in any sport. 


In addition to their NCAA success, the Camels finished atop the NESCAC regular season standings, hosted the league's championship weekend for the first time, and advanced to the championship match of the NESCAC Tournament for the first time in program history. The team's 19 victories were also a school record and bettered the previous mark of 14 established in 1978. For their efforts, Burk and Storton were named the 2021 NCAA Men's Division III National Coaching Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches.


In his first season at Conn, Storton helped lead the program to a successful postseason run that included wins over Catholic, then-No. 3 Johns Hopkins, and Swarthmore. At the time, the Elite Eight appearance marked only the third time a Connecticut College program had advanced to the quarterfinal round of an NCAA Tournament in any sport.


A native of Oxford, England, Storton has a wealth of coaching experience and has been heavily involved with coaching soccer at various levels in Southeast Connecticut since his arrival in the country in 2009. On the scholastic level, he served as the head boys soccer coach at Bacon Academy in Colchester and led the program to a 100-30-13 overall ledger in seven seasons from 2012-18. Storton was named the ECC Large Division Coach of the Year three times, the Norwich Bulletin Coach of the Year twice, and helped the team win four ECC Division championships, an ECC tournament title, while also advancing to the finals of the Class M State Cup on two occasions during his successful tenure.


Storton is currently working towards his Masters in Sport Management at University of Florida and graduated magna cum laude in three years from Mitchell College in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in sports and fitness management and a minor in psychology. He holds a UEFA "B" License along with several other coaching licenses and resides in Niantic with his wife, Hannah, and sons, Oliver and William

Andrew Mpasiakos

Andrew Mpasiakos joins the Brewers following two seasons as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Case Western Reserve University. Mpasiakos assisted in on-field coaching, practice planning, recruiting, practice and game schedules, player mentoring, and community service projects during his time there. He helped mentor two All-UAA Conference selections, two All-Ohio selections, and one Academic All-American. In addition, Mpasiakos worked with the Case Western athletics annual fundraising projects. 

Before his time at Case Western, Mpasiakos served as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Goucher College for two seasons. He assisted with all on-field coaching and recruiting, scouting reports and game film, and monitored student-athlete academic performance. At Goucher, he also coached the second freshman in program history to receive All-Landmark Conference honors. 

Mpasiakos has also served as a head coach at Team Challenger FC-North, the boy's college director and head coach at Liverpool FCIA, a full-time staff coach at Cedar Stars Academy-Hudson Valley, and a staff coach for the New York Red Bulls youth training division.

Mpasiakos earned his USSF B License in June of 2022 and holds USSF C, USC Premier, and USC Advanced National licenses. 

In addition to his coaching experience, Mpasiakos played four years of NCAA Division III men's soccer at Virginia Wesleyan University, where he was part of the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship team that reached the NCAA Tournament.

Mpasiakos graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies with a focus in business in 2017. He then received a Master's in Education in athletic administration and leadership from Goucher in 2019.

Enda Crehan was announced as the new Head Men's Soccer Coach in May of 2020. Crehan comes to CBU after spending three seasons as the head coach at Ferrum College (Va.).
 
The Newbridge, Galway, Ireland native has 69 victories as a head coach, but his teams have also excelled off the pitch. His 2019 team, at Ferrum, earned the highest GPA (3.19) of all FC men's teams. He has also coached five Academic All-Americans, five academic all-conference members and the 2015 NSCAA NJCAA Student-Athlete of the Year, Elias Tamburini, who is a professional player in Iceland.

Ben Taylor

Ben Taylor will enter his third year as head coach of the Drury men's soccer program in 2020

Taylor's overall coaching record is 87-55-13.

Taylor came back to Drury after spending six seasons as the head coach at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. His teams went 76-36-8 during his tenure and were ranked in the NJCAA top 20 in four of his six seasons with one of his teams ranked as high as second nationally. He also coached three NJCAA All-Americans during his time at ICCC. In addition, Taylor served as an assistant coach for the Des Moines Menace in the Premier Developmental League and helped the franchise to a 12-1-1 record in 2014.
 
As a player for Drury from 2007-10, Taylor was Second Team All-American selection, was a two-time First Team All-GLVC pick and was named to the All-Region first team three times. He finished his playing career ranked second all-time in assists at Drury with 23. Taylor helped the Panthers to the GLVC title in his junior year in 2009 with a team that went 21-2 and advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA-II national tournament. He was a four-year starter, a team captain for three seasons and also a member of the GLVC All-Academic Team. 
 
Taylor graduated from Drury in 2011 with a degree in Speech Communication. He also holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma and a UEFA B

Now that fall season is well underway we wanted to reach out and thank you all for your support and flexibility. It takes a village to run a club and all of your help has been greatly appreciated!




 


We would also like to take this time to reintroduce our new Director of Coaching and Executive Director, Coach Kris Hall.




 


Coach Hall is a Northern California native who has US National, Professional, Collegiate, and youth club Director experience. Coach Hall currently serves as FC Davis Head Coach which competes in the semi-pro National Premier Soccer League. Prior to returning to the Vacaville area Coach Hall served as an assistant coach from 2019 Spring 2021 with the Professional team Oakland Roots of the USL Championship League.




 


Hall grew up in Northern California playing in the local competitive leagues, Super-Y League, and Player Development League (PDL). In his youth career Hall was one of the original classes of Project 20 which we know today as the Olympic Development Program. He rose from the District level to the California State Team, through the Regional Pool to the US Youth National team. Hall played four years of collegiate soccer and finished his professional career in the NPSL and what we know as the USL today!




 


Over the past two decades Coach Hall has coached at three universities; California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO), University of the Pacific, and California State University East Bay (CSUEB). Hall currently serves as a coach for San Francisco State University. In addition to coaching collegiately Coach Hall takes great pride in the development of youth soccer. Hes always created time to give back to the local communities and has served at multiple clubs as a Director of Coaching and Technical Director.




 


In 2012 Coach Hall started Maverick Goalkeeper Academy (MGA) and has grown the business from location performing camps into a powerhouse organizations that has 8 locations throughout the Sacramento area, Bay area, and Central Coast. MGA is a leader in curriculum development, tournaments, individual & groups trainings, and coaches education.




 


In his thirst for knowledge and developing the American game of soccer, Hall has traveled to over 10 countries learning and coaching in soccer clubs throughout Europe. Some note worthy clubs include: Barcelona, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Ajax, Sheffield Wednesday, Chievo, Valencia, Real Madrid, Borussia Monchengladback, Borussia Dortmund, FC Sparta, FC Utrecht, Twente, Heracles, Sparta Rotterdam, and S.B.V. Excelsior. During Halls travels he has had the pleasure of working with world class coaches such as; Peter Bosz, Frans Hoek, Louis van Gaal, Brad Friedel, Kees Kalk, Edwin van der Sar, and Patrick Kluivert.




 


When asked which experience shaped his coaching and leadership style the most, he responded, I am an amalgamation of my experiences. There is so much Ive learned from traveling and coaching in professional clubs and within dedicated youth clubs. However I believe the most important thing Ive learned is there is not one right way to do things, but a right way for your club. In every club Ive been apart of, whether a professional team, college team, or youth team, Ive asked who are we. From there we define our culture and build development and business plans to be successful.




 


Coach Kris Hall joined Vacaville United Soccer Club in June 2021. He also serves as a coach in the Olympic Development Program (CalNorth), Player Development Program (NorCal), and as Vice Chair for NorCal. We are very pleased to have his leadership in the club and welcome him into the VUSC family.

Keith Buderus

Keith Buderus enters his fourth season on the UCCS mens soccer coaching staff in 2024 after joining Head Mens Soccer Coach Lewis Wilcoxs interim staff as an assistant for the 2021 season and officially being hired as a full-time assistant coach in January of 2022.
 
With Buderus on the staff, UCCS has posted a 29-19-10 overall record and earned their first ever selection to the NCAA Division II Mens Soccer Tournament in 2023. Buderus has also helped the UCCS mens soccer team secure a wide array of conference, regional, and national awards throughout his time at UCCS, including 13 All-RMAC selections, two RMAC major awards, 11 D2CCA/United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors, one D2CCA All-America selection, four RMAC All-Academic First Team honors, five College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District accolades, and one CSC Academic All-America selection.

Prior to moving to Colorado Springs, Buderus was the Mens Soccer Head Coach at Northeastern Junior College (NJCAA Division 1) in Sterling, CO from November 2018 to June 2021. Before being officially named head coach, he served as the interim head coach for the 2018 season from June to November 2018. His tenure at Northeastern began in August 2017 when he worked as the mens and womens assistant coach. Buderus leaves Northeastern Mens Soccer as the programs all-time winningest coach and was in charge when the team achieved every major program record, athletically and academically.

During Buderus tenure as head coach, the Plainsmen held an overall record of 32-14-6 overall, 23-5-2 in Region IX matches and 21-4 at home. Over the course of the four years Buderus was on staff, the Plainsmen were 45-22-6 overall, 30-11-2 in Region IX matches, 29-7 at home and 14-4-2 in October. The program is also very proud to have received the Region IX MVP Award three years in a row (2017-2019). 

Under the leadership of Buderus, the Plainsmen achieved national recognition each year, rising as high as 12th in the national rankings (2018) and placing 24 total student athletes on the NJCAA Academic All-American teams. During the 2021-22 year, the program earned their strongest GPA in an academic semester with an average of 3.23 which placed them 19th overall in NJCAA Mens Soccer Team GPA. The team had 12 student athletes (of 30 total players) on the NJCAA Academic All-American teams. For the second year in a row, they were the strongest academic mens athletic program at NJC. 

The 2019-20 year concluded finishing second place overall in Region IX, 13-5-3 overall, 8-1-1 conference. This was the first season where the region was not split into two divisions. The teams 54 total goals scored beats the school record set the previous season (49). Their average team GPA was 3.11 which placed them 28thoverall in NJCAA Mens Soccer Team GPA and with 9 NJCAA Academic All-Americans they were the strongest academic mens athletic program at NJC. 

As interim head coach in 2018-19, the Plainsmen finished the season as champions of the Region IX South Division and continued the tremendous momentum within the program by setting numerous school records. NJC was 14-5-1 overall while going 7-1 in division games, both school records. For the first time in school history, the Plainsmen achieved national ranking for over one month, rising as high as 12th.

In 2017-18, during his first season as the Mens Assistant Soccer Coach under head coach David Groves, the Plainsmen finished with a 13-8 overall record. The Plainsmen finished the season as one of the most in-form teams in the country, winning seven games in a row during the month of October. NJC eventually fell 2-1 in the Region IX Final. The 13 wins set the school record at the time and the Plainsmen were a game away from competing in the national tournament. Groves was subsequently named Region IX Coach of the Year and his entire coaching staff was recognized for the historical season. 

Prior to Northeastern, Buderus worked for the Westminster Soccer Club as a staff coach. Additionally, he was the Assistant Boys Varsity Soccer Coach for Mountain Range High School for two years (2014-15). Mountain Range is in the Front Range League, which is the strongest 5A soccer conference in the state.

Born and raised in Fort Collins, CO, Buderus attended Colorado State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.

Will Dyer

Will Dyer started the LTU men's soccer program from scratch in 2011 after leading the club program for two seasons.

The 2017 season saw LTU break multiple program records as it was the first time the Blue Devils made it to the WHAC Tournament Championship while finishing with the best overall record, 14-5-2 (.674%) in program history. A season later, the Blue Devils finished the job, capturing the WHAC Tournament Championship and advancing to the NAIA National tournament.

Having extensive coaching experience at the club level as well, Dyer has been the head coach of the Detroit City FC South Oakland since 2021. Prior to Detroit City FC, Dyer coached the Michigan Jaguars (2015-2017), Michigan Wolves (2017-2019), and Michigan Hawks (2019-2021) at the youth level.

He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in sport and leisure studies after playing for the Buckeyes from 1994-1995 before getting injured during a match. He played at Del Norte High School (NM) from 1992-1994 while playing for the SV Waldhof Mannheim 07 Youth as a kid.

Dyer enjoys spending time with his wife Dr. Sarah Pack-Dyer and sons Gavin and Declan.
