Additionally, Gachko was awarded the USTA/ITA Campus & Community Outreach Award in recognitions for service to the community and leading community-based tennis programs in 2010-11.  Prior to joining Stevens, Gachko served as an assistant mens and womens tennis coach at his alma mater, The College of New Jersey in 2004 and 2005 where he helped coach several All-Americas en route to both teams finishing in the top-25. During his second year with both programs, the men compiled a 12-3 record while the women recorded an impressive 14-3 mark. A four-year letter-winner with the Lions' tennis program as an undergraduate, Gachko started a co-ed club tennis team from scratch, and in 2004 guided his players to the National Campus Championships in Daytona, Fla. before steering his club team to a berth in the national event in San Diego in 2005. Gachko began his coaching career as an instructor at Brunswick Hills Racquet Club in East Brunswick, N.J. where he helped develop and market new tennis programs while training many adults and nationally-ranked juniors. Gachkos also served as an assistant pro at the Sea Bright Tennis Club  where he coordinated the junior program, club tournaments and adult clinics while also given private lessons. Gachko, who is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association, has previously served as the assistant director for Nike's Tournament Tough tennis camp.  Mens Team Since taking over the mens program prior to the 2006 season, Gachko has taken a program with no history of nationally ranked recruiting classes or ITA national rankings, and built it into a regional and national power. As a result, Gachko has become the all-time winningest coach in program history, breaking the 150 win plateau in 2015.  Gachko has accomplished numerous firsts in program history including its first ever nationally-ranked recruiting class in 2012, first ITA regional and national team ranking, first ITA All-American, and first appearance in the NCAA regional final. Gachkos been named the Empire 8 Coach of the Year seven times, and has won 11 of the last 12 conference titles including the last seven in-a-row.  The Ducks have also made themselves a fixture of NCAA Tournament success under Gachko, reaching at least the second round every season since 2010. In 2013, the Ducks reached their first ever regional final.  Aside from the team accomplishments, individuals have flourished under Gachkos leadership resulting in 84 All-Conference nods, seven rookie of the year selections, and seven player of the year awards. In addition, Gachkos student-athletes have excelled at the ITA Northeast Regional Tournament, highlighted by Matthew Heinrichs singles championship and Heinrich and Ben Forans doubles title in 2015.  At the NCAA level, Gachko has coached both doubles and singles players to the Individual Championship resulting in back-to-back All-America selections for Heinrich in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, Gachko quided Heinrich and Foran to the semifinal round of the NCAA Doubles Championship.  Gachkos building efforts culminated during the 2014-15 season when despite a schedule of 11 national ranked opponents, the Ducks won a program-record 19 matches en route to a sixth consecutive Empire 8 Conference championship. The Ducks recorded six wins against top-40 opponents, and garnered a program-record No. 22 ranking.  Gachkos impact on the program was felt immediately when the then rookie head coach won 12 straight matches during his inaugural 2005-06 campaign, before capitalizing on that success with the programs first NCAA Tournament berth the following season.  The 2007-08 season brought the programs first NCAA win setting off a run of seven second round appearances in eight seasons. In 2013, the Ducks made their biggest run with a pair of tournament wins, leading to a regional finals appearance against then No. 3 Amherst College.  Womens Team Success has not been exclusive to the mens team as Gachkos 10 seasons as the womens head coach have also resulted in him becoming the programs all-time wins leader. Under his helm, Gachkos student-athletes have earned 76 All-Conference honors, as well as one rookie of the year award and six player of the year selections.  The Ducks have become a fixture at the top of the Empire 8 Conference, reaching the championship nine consecutive years including finals appearances in six of the last seven seasons.
