My name is Grace Burrows and I am the head softball coach, SAAC coordinator, and assistant compliance director at Principia College. I will also be managing gameday operations and events for our college this upcoming school year.
Principia College is a D3 liberal arts college in Elsah, IL (about 40 minutes outside of St. Louis).
The 2027 season will be the third for Samatha Mendez as the Head Coach of the Illinois College softball program.
Mendez and the Lady Blues enjoyed a record-setting season in 2026. IC posted a program-best 34 wins, captured both the Midwest Conference regular season and postseason tournament championships, and made the programs third-ever NCAA regional appearance. The Lady Blues posted the schools second-ever NCAA postseason victory with a 6-4 victory over Capital. IC closed out the season on a hot streak, winning 21 of its last 24 contests. Three members of the team Jordan Closs, Ezzy Mauermann, and Cambria Currie earned All-Region honors. Closs was also the MWC Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive campaign. She was joined on the all-conference squad by Mauermann, Currie, Gabby Miller, and Maddie Adams.
The Lady Blues set nine offensive school records: Stolen Bases (132), OPS (.857), Runs (276), hits (355), doubles (64), triples (27), home runs (23), RBI (220), and hit-by-pitch (27) along with five pitching records: ERA (2.05), WHIP (1.12), wins (34), shutouts (16), and batting average against (.218).
Mendezs initial season on the Hilltop was a milestone campaign as the Lady Blues finished with 25 victories, including a 13-3 slate in Midwest Conference play. The 25 wins tied the school record for victories in a season, and the team set six single-season school team records (walks 179, stolen bases - 78, on-base percentage - .412, hits 349, RBI 194, and fielding percentage - .967).
Individually, pitcher Jordan Closs posted a scoreless innings streak of 55 2/3, which ranks eighth all-time in NCAA Division III history and was the longest since 2011. She was first-team All-Region 9 by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and was joined on the all-region team by Taylor Henry. Closs was also the Midwest Conference Pitcher and Newcomer of the Year and was first-team all-conference. Henry, Kendall Cole, and Brooke Loveall were also on the first team. Shelby Seiler was on the second team. Mendez, along with assistant coaches Kiwi Moran and Payton Cloe, was named the Midwest Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.
Mendez joined the IC program after a stint at the University of Texas Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas, where she was the head coach from 2022-24.
Before taking the position with the Falcons, Mendez was an assistant coach with Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan., from 2018-22, where she helped the Braves become an NAIA power in four seasons.
Ottawa won back-to-back regular-season Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference championships in 2021 and 2022, winning 81 games in the process. Along with two straight National Tournament appearances, the Braves reached the NAIA World Series in 2021. She coached back-to-back KCAC Pitcher of the Year, Casson Rasmussen, along with 28 All-Conference and two All-American selections. In 2021, Mendez was part of the staff that was named the NFCA Region IV Coaching Staff of the Year.
Prior to her time at Ottawa, Mendez was an assistant coach at Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla., from 2015-18 where she oversaw the catchers and assisted with outfield and base-running. She coached six All-MIAA Selections and one All-American during her time with the Riverhawks. Mendez helped the program to three Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Tournament appearances as well.
Mendez had her first head coaching experience at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa, from 2013-15. She coached eight All-Iowa Community College Athletic Conference selections during her three seasons with the Panthers.
Mendez has a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Ottawa and her masters degree in Health and Kinesiology from Northeastern State. Her husband, Julian, is an assistant football coach at Washburn University.
Matt Bauer is the inaugural head coach of Greyhound Softball, now entering his sixth year leading the program. Under his guidance, Greyhound Softball has steadily grown stronger each season. Bauer laid the foundation for the program starting in the 2021-2022 year by focusing on recruiting and preparing for the team's debut in the 2023 season.
In the first five years of play; the team has experienced good success on the field and off. Reaching the Region 16 Championship game in 2024, 6 All Region Players, and All Academic Team all 5 years.
Coach Bauer came to Moberly Area Community College from Frazee, Minnesota, bringing over 13 years of softball coaching experience at various levels. During his five years as head coach for Frazee High School's Hornet Softball team, he led the program to significant achievements, including three consecutive Gold Academic Team honors, tying the school record for wins, and securing back-to-back third-place finishes in the section along with a second-place finish in the conference. Concurrently, he coached a club/travel team in Frazee for 11 years, leading them to multiple tournament championships and back-to-back state runner-up finishes.
Coach Bauer earned his Master of Arts in Sport Management from Concordia University St. Paul in June 2021 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Education from North Dakota State University, completed in December 1996.
Jason Ollison was named the head coach of the Lincoln softball team in the summer of 2022 and is in his fourth season with the program.
In his first year with the program, Ollison helped lead the project to redo LU Softball Field, helping to renovate the campus facility to include new dugouts, signage and turf field. He also coached Lincoln to a 5-3 win over Nebraska Kearney in the first game played on the new field on April 16, 2023. Ollison, who coached Leslie Callahan to All-MIAA second team status, additionally led the Blue Tigers to a victory over Southwest Baptist in the final home game of the season.
In each of his first three seasons at Lincoln, Ollison has increased LU's win total. In 2025, the Blue Tigers won 16 games, tied for the second-most in a season in program history. Abbi Conrad finished the year on the All-GLVC second team. In 2026, the Blue Tigers broke the single-season wins record and finished with a 23-24 record. Along the way the Blue Tigers broke several school records and had two All-Conference players, Ann-Marie Simpson and Gracie Wright.
Ollison had spent the previous six years working at Versailles High School, including serving as the head softball coach in 2020 and 2021. In each of those years, Versailles broke the school record for victories in a single season, with Ollison and his staff earning the Tri-County Conference Coaching Staff of the Year award following each season. Ollison, who simultaneously organized and managed all of the Morgan County Athletic Club's youth programs, finished his tenure at Versailles with a 34-20 record.
From 2017 through 2022, Ollison also served as the head baseball coach at Versailles, leading the program to its first ever district runner-up finish in 2021. Ollison previously was the head baseball coach at Benton County R-IX in Warsaw, Mo. in 2016 as well as the head baseball coach at Greenridge High, where he took a team that had won just four games in 2013 and led the program to district runner-up finishes in 2014 and 2015.
In 2005, Ollison created the Mid-Missouri Crawdads Baseball Club, a semi-professional organization in St. Elizabeth, Mo. Ollison was the general manager and head coach for three years, leading the club to a second place result at the 2006 United States Baseball Congress World Series. In all three of those seasons, the Crawdads were ranked among the top-25 in the country by the National Semi-Pro Baseball Association.
A 2000 graduate of Lincoln University with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Ollison earned All-MIAA honors while playing for the Blue Tigers. Ollison got his coaching start at his alma mater, serving as the team's hitting coach in 2001 and 2002. The Blue Tigers had a team batting average higher than .330 both years, with the 2002 team's .340 average ranking as the 13th-best in NCAA Division II.
In addition to his many years as a baseball and softball coach in mid-Missouri, Ollison also has won four district championships as a high school basketball coach. Ollison has been voted the "Best Local Coach" by Missouri's Best Magazine each of the past five years and, in 2015, was inducted into the Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame.

My name is Maddy Carpe and I am one of the assistant coaches at Harvard University. I work with both offense and defense, however, I do have a stronger role in defense.
Before coaching, I had a four-year career on the Boston College Softball team where I served as team captain my senior year. I earned the Eagle Award which is presented to those who embody the mission of Boston College: to learn, search for truth, and to live in service of others. I was also awarded the Welles Crowther Patch which recognizes a player from each team who represents the BC motto, "Men and Women for others."
As I enter my second year of coaching with the Crimson, I could not be more excited to continue sharing my love and knowledge of this sport. Harvard Softball's four core values are passion, respect, fortitude, and confidence, values that are enforced everyday in our program. I look forward to working with the younger players of the game within these camps and share in the values that has brought Harvard Softball so much success.
Current Graduate Assistant at Auburn University - I am in my second year - Played 3 years of softball at the University of Missouri and then 1 year at the University of Louisville.
Buffenbarger is in her first season as a member of the Dayton softball staff for the 2025 season and will serve as the pitching coach.
She comes to Dayton after spending the 2024 season on staff at Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati. The Lions finished third in the Heartland Conference regular season standings and were runners-up in the conference tournament. MSJ pitcher Casey Kemp was named First Team All-Conference and to the All-Tournament Team following the 2024 campaign.
Prior to MSJ, Buffenbarger spent one season at Youngstown State following a decorated career as an ace on the Penguins pitching staff.
Youngstown State softball's all-time wins and strikeouts leader, Buffenbarger finished her career with a 63-33 record and a 3.01 earned run average, and set the school records for career wins and career strikeouts with 744. In 2021, the Mason, Ohio, native earned NFCA All-Region Third-Team honors and went 20-4 with 212 strikeouts, a 2.16 earned run average and an opponent batting average of .198 and was named the Horizon League's Pitcher of the Year.
During her final season in 2022, Buffenbarger was named All-Horizon League Second-Team and went 21-10 with a single-season record 224 strikeouts and a 2.88 earned-run average. She led the Horizon League in strikeouts, including fanning eight in 6.2 innings to break the YSU career strikeout record against Penn on Feb. 25.
She earned a bachelor's degree from YSU in December of 2021.
Shelby Petik arrived to Florida Atlantic in August of 2024 following three seasons at the helm of Eastern Florida State College, where she most recently led the Titans to their best season in program history with 40 wins.
In her first season with Florida Atlantic, Petik oversaw the Owls' defense that finished second nationally in fielding percentage (.984). FAU won 45 games, its most since 2016, and achieved the American Athletic Conference regular season title for the second consecutive season on the way to its second straight NCAA Regionals appearance.
For their efforts, Petik and her fellow Owl coaches were named AAC Staff of the Year.
Petik achieved 85 victories in three seasons as head coach of EFSC. In addition to their 40 wins in 2024, the Titans also made their first NJCAA Region 8 Championship appearance for the first time in program history and recorded their first nationwide ranking, coming in as high as No. 13.
Under Petiks watch at Eastern Florida State, her student-athletes were named All-Conference 20 times, 10 each on the first and second team. Two were named NFCA All-South Region honorees and one was a Gold Glove recipient at center field.
The Titans were number one in the nation in sacrifice hits and top 10 nationally in fielding percentage. The team ranked top five in Region-8 for 14 of 15 team offensive statistical categories.
During this time, Petik also served as head coach for Siesta Key Phinz of the Florida Gulf Coast League.
Previously, Petik was an assistant coach at Presbyterian College, her alma mater, from 2018 to 2021, during which she provided hitting and outfield instruction while also coordinating travel, scheduling, and social media. Petik also served as an assistant for Furman University in 2017.
Petik graduated from Presbyterian in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. During her time, as a student-athlete, broke the programs Division I era career records for doubles, home runs, RBIs, total bases, walks and games played. She received her Masters of Science in Collegiate Athletic Administration from Coker University in 2017.

I am the Assistant/Pitching Coach at Prairie View A&M University. An HBCU located in Prairie View, TX that is 40mins outside of Houston; we are apart of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. As a program we have amassed a championship program, entering my 4th year as the assistant we have won our conference tournament, 3x Western Division champions and in the last 5 years have been to the NCAA Division 1 Regional tournament twice going to Norman, OK and Baton Rouge, LA .
Assistant Softball Coach at Oakland University (2024-Present)
Coach Latterell has been an NCAA Division III coach since 2007. Latterell began her coaching career at her Alma Mater University Wisconsin River Falls and joined the Macalester College team as an ad hoc coach in 2015. She became a full time assistant and recruiting coordinator in 2018. Latterell enjoys teaching the sport, developing athletes and finds gratification in seeing the success of her players. The sport of softball can teach us the power of teamwork, mental resilience and the joy of the journey.
Ferguson enters her 11th season as head softball coach for the Sagehens in 2017. Since her arrival at Pomona-Pitzer, Ferguson has successfully turned the program around, culminating in the winningest season in school history in 2012, when the Sagehens were 22-19 overall, 15-9 in the SCIAC and qualified for the conference tournament.
The 22 wins broke the previous high of 21, which was also set under Ferguson in 2008, when the Sagehens surpassed all expectations with a 21-19 record. The team went on to compete in the first ever post-season SCIAC tournament, where they upset top-seeded and nationally ranked University of Redlands in the first round 5-1. Ultimately, the squad finished third in the tournament.
The Sagehens have had five different players earn NFCA All-Region honors in the last six years under Ferguson's guidance, including Alexis Garcia, Alyssa Corley, Leah Bleichner, Ashley Morello, and Kelsey Buchanan.
During Fergusons reign at Pomona-Pitzer the team has posted a number of Academic All-Americans and has consistently ranked nationally in team GPA. In 2013, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association recognized the Sagehens with the second-highest team GPA in Division III, surpassing its previous high of fourth in 2011.
Prior to joining the Sagehens, Ferguson coached NCAA Division I at George Washington University for two years. In 2006, George Washington's fourth year of the program and Ferguson's second at the helm, she led the Colonials to a program-best record of 24-28 and a respectable win over in-town ACC rival University of Maryland.
Before her tenure at George Washington, Ferguson served as the head softball coach at Kenyon College, a Division III school in Gambier, Ohio, from 2000-04. During her tenure at Kenyon, the team posted a 17-15 mark in 2004, the squad's first winning season. For her efforts, Ferguson was named the 2004 North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
A native of Clarksburg, MD, Ferguson began her coaching career as an assistant at the University of Virginia from 1997-2000, while earning her master's degree in sport psychology. During that time she helped lead the Cavaliers to appearances in three consecutive ACC championship games.
As a player, Ferguson was a switch-hitting catcher and first baseman for Shippensburg University from 1992-1996. The Raiders posted a combined record of 103-67-1 during her four years on the squad. Ferguson finished her career with a .275 batting average and was an All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) performer. She was also the team's captain during her senior campaign. Ferguson graduated from Shippensburg in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in coaching.
Kierstyn Foley joined the Knights staff in July 2024 and also serves as Athletic Events Coordinator.
Prior to coming to Northfield, Foley spent the previous two years as a graduate assistant softball coach at Edgewood College (Wis.) while completing her master's degree in organizational leadership and change. She also served as a student success advisor at Edgewood from January-July 2024. Originally from California, she began her collegiate softball career as a catcher at Utah Valley University (NCAA D-I) before transferring to California State University, San Bernardino (NCAA D-II) in 2019. She graduated from CSUSB in 2022 with a degree in child development.
The 2025 campaign marks the fourth season at WPI for head softball coach Heather Ross as she holds a 90-56-1 (.616) record on Boynton Hill.
WPI finished 23-19-1 with an 11-9 stint in conference action including a sweep over Johnson & Wales in its 2024 New England debut, split with Eastern Connecticut State, No. 14 MIT, and Bates. The Engineers later rallied for a 11-game win streak featuring sweeps over Worcester State, Smith, Salve Regina, Amherst, Clark and split with Coast Guard. WPI earned the sixth seed and later advanced to game 10 of the NEWMAC Championship with tournament wins over Coast Guard in the play-in, and back-to-back upsets in the same day versus No. 5 Smith and the top-seeded Pride in Springfield. Coach Ross' crew advanced to the final day of the NEWMAC tournament before getting knocked off by No. 4 Babson.
The Engineers posted a 20-20 overall record a 11-7 record in NEWMAC play en route to earning the fourth seed heading into the NEWMAC postseason tournament. WPI fell to fifth-seed Babson in extra innings dropping a 3-2 season-ending loss in Game Six of the NEWMAC tournament to Coast Guard.
In her first season, Ross and her team made history at WPI capturing the first-ever NCAA Softball Super Regional Championship, earning its first berth to the NCAA Division III National Championship series in Salem, VA. After falling to the eventual 2022 national champion, Christopher Newport, the Engineers finished its historical season with a 35-17 record and No. 12 national ranking.
Ross saw many accomplishments in her first year at WPI including the programs 3rd NEWMAC Conference Championship ('16, '19, '22), 3rd NCAA Regional Championship ('15,'16, '22), 1st Super Regional Championship, 1st trip to the NCAA DIII National Championship, 1st NCAA Elite-90 Award Winner (Lindsay Ambrosino), and many individuals awards including; NCAA Regional Player and Pitcher of Tournament, All-Tournament Team, NCAA All-Region, CoSIDA Academic All-American, NEWMAC All-Conference, NEWMAC All Academic-Team, and NFCA Scholar Athletes.
Prior to arriving at WPI, Ross led the Lesley University Lynx for five seasons. She left following the 2021 season, where she was voted by her peers as the NECC Coach of the Year, and her Lynx squad ended their season as the NECC Conference runner-up. The Lynx topped at 10th in the New England region rankings, finished top 10 in a wide variety of categories, and produced the NECC Female Student-Athlete of the Year, NCAA Women of the Year Nominee, and NECC Player of the Year. Lesley posted All-Conference and All-Region individual accolades in addition to multiple no-hitters, weekly award winners, NECC Academic All-Conference awards, 12 NFCA All-American Scholar Athletes, and led the athletics department in team GPA (3.63).
Heather previously served as an assistant softball coach at UMass Lowell and Emmanuel, director of Noreasters Baseball/Softball, and currently stands as owner/director of Hard 60 Softball Camps.
Ross helped lead the UMass Lowell River Hawks to the NE-10 Tournament Championship, advancing to the NCAA East Region semifinal during her freshman campaign. Ross graduated leaving a top-10 mark in games played, doubles, home runs, total bases, and tied the single-season win record with her 2011 crew. Ross concluded her student-athlete career in 2011 with a bachelors degree in liberal arts and in 2013 with a masters degree in social and economic development.
Ross also served as the Assistant Director of Athletics, Senior Womens Administrator, and Sports Information Director at Lesley.
Ive been coaching at Virginia Union University since June 2022, accepting the job right after finishing my senior year at VUU.
Former Gator Joplin Osgood '22 enters her third season as an assistant softball coach at Allegheny College. A two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Honorable Mention and team captain, Osgood was a four-year member of the Allegheny softball program from 2019-22. As a middle infielder, she started 87 of the 89 games she played and posted an impressive .321 career batting average. Osgood's best season came as a senior in 2022, when Osgood hit .362 with 21 runs, 12 doubles, nine RBIs, and one home run - all career-highs.
She was tied for first on the team with 10 multi-hit games, led all Gators in batting average, on-base percentage (.408), and slugging percentage (.521), and was one of only three players to start all 32 games that spring. In addition to her second All-NCAC recognition, she was nominated for Allegheny's Female Senior Achievement Award. Osgood, who also spent one season with the Gator volleyball team, graduated magna cum laude with a degree in psychology.
Morales joins the Minot State coaching staff for the 2025 season after spending last season as assistant coach at #20 Southeastern University (NAIA). She spent the 2023 season as the graduate assistant for the Longwood University softball team.
She has also spent time as a coach for the USSSA All-American Games as well as the 18U Atlanta Premier program and Texas Blaze 16U.
Morales spent her freshman and sophomore season at Broward College where she was First-Team All-Southern Conference both seasons.
She then spent her junior and senior seasons at Nyack College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science and was named an Easton NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete in May of 2022.
Molly Sterrett grew up in Logansport, Indiana. She played for Logansport High School with a challenging Sectional. Sterrett joined the Indiana Magic program, which was later inducted into the Indiana Hall of Fame. During her tenure, the Indiana Magic A team won the Indiana State Championship. In completing her high school career, Sterrett was named an Indiana All-Star and First-Team All State.
Collegiately, Sterrett attended Huntington University. She finished her career with 63 wins, a program record that still stands. She also holds the school record for career starts with 90 and career appearances with 117. She faced 2,357 batters and gave up only 511 hits, 105 walks and 179 earned runs while striking out a program-best 654 batters.
Sterrett was a three-time All-Conference honoree which included being tabbed the Mid-Central Conference Pitcher of the Year as a junior. That year saw her limit batters to a .200 batting average and post a 1.22 ERA, the lowest of her career and a single-season school record.
Sterrett was inducted into Huntington's Hall of Fame in 2021. She graduated from HU in 2012 with a BS in Business Management.
Sterrett believes in the strategy of the game. She is highly competitive and enjoys capitalizing on body language and queues of opposing coaches and players. Her goal in coaching is training beyond skills. She wants to see success off and on the field.

Her 15 home runs and 50 RBIs in 2015 were the second-most in a single-season in program history.
The 2015 GLVC Player of the Year as well as the Daktronics Midwest Region Player of the Year, Dorsam had a knack for reaching base throughout her career. She reached base safely in 163 of 188 career games, including 128 of 146 games in her final three seasons.
A native of Dubois, Indiana, Dorsam earned her bachelor's degree in health services from USI in 2015. She is currently working on a master's degree in sports management at USI.

I have coached at Birmingham Southern College, Samford University and currently at Millsaps College. I also own and operate the Birmingham Vipers Fastpitch Organization.
As part of our COVID-19 safety plan, the indoor sessions traditionally held on the first day of camp will be shared online.
Sessions will be accessible for the week prior to camp. They are available on-demand and can be completed at the athlete's
convenience.
This approach allows us to continue offering these valuable sessions so athletes arrive to camp ready to maximize the experience,
while still maintaining a safe experience.
