Jacob Wilson returned to his alma mater when he joined the Cal mens soccer coaching staff in 2016 as an assistant coach under former Cal head coach Kevin Grimes - who mentored Wilson when the latter was a Golden Bears player.

Jake has played in all levels of soccer (Recreational, competitive club, high school, Division 1 college--Cal, semi-pro--PDL and NPSL, and professionally) He has a great understanding of what it means.

Revolutionaries hire UDC assistant with distinguished resume

WASHINGTON - The George Washington University men's soccer team has identified Iain Langstone as the newest member of the coaching staff, joining head coach Craig Jones and assistants Ben Mortimer and John Szaro in preparation for the 2024 season. Langstone comes to GW after three seasons as a full-time assistant at UDC and with over 15 years of combined club and college coaching experience. 

"Firstly, I want to thank Head Coach Craig Jones and Athletic Director Tanya Vogel for this opportunity," said Langstone. "I am extremely excited and privileged to be joining the GW coaching staff, and can't wait to get to work."

During Langstone's time at UDC, his role involved working on all aspects of the program, including match analysis, scouting, preparing and running field sessions, and both local and international recruiting. Langstone was a part of multiple successful seasons at UDC. Notably, he was on staff when UDC went on an 11-game unbeaten streak in 2021, and when UDC reached the East Coast Conference (ECC) Championship Final for only the second time in program history.

Langstone played a role in developing multiple highly-achieving student-athletes at UDC, which includes the 2021 ECC Offensive Player of the Year (Vitor Gomez), the 2023 ECC Rookie of the Year (Isaiah Daniel) and an assembly of student-athletes recognized with All-Conference and All-Region accolades.  

"We are excited to get Iain working with our group immediately when they return from break," said Jones. "His experience and player care are a strength that continued to impress me in our conversations."

Langstone brings a wealth of experience from his 15+ years of combined club and college coaching experience, having held numerous positions at each level. Age Group Director, Juniors Academy Director, Pro 23s Head Coach and Maryland State Olympic Development Program (ODP) Assistant Coach are all recent titles held by Langstone, and he also currently serves as the U16 (2008) MLS Next Head Coach and Age Group Lead at Alexandria Soccer Association.

"I know I am joining a program that is in a good place and I am looking forward to assisting in developing the current group while recruiting future student-athletes with a champion mentality, on and off the field," said Langstone.

Langstone played collegiate soccer at D-II Slippery Rock from 2005-09, where he led The Rock to two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, three NCAA tournaments and two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances. His career stats include being ranked T-3rd all-time in program game winning goals (six) and T-8th all-time for program games played (77).

Langstone is currently pursuing a US Soccer A youth license, and already holds a US Soccer B license, a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper L1 diploma, a United Soccer Coaches Performance Analysis diploma, and is certified as an injury prevention specialist.

"From the start in a very competitive pool of candidates, Iain demonstrated the professionalism and character traits that I believe will improve and continue to grow our program. His enthusiasm for the role will be a great addition for our students' development and will help them individually, and as a team achieve the goals we hope to achieve moving forward," Jones concluded.

My name is Lukas Fernandes, a Rochester, NY native who played his college ball in Philadelphia, PA at Temple University. 


After playing at Temple, I spent two years playing professionally for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Flower City Union. 


I began my coaching career at Temple University in 2022, before joining the staff over at Drexel University in March of 2023.

Taylor Thames enters his third season as the Explorers head coach after being hired to the post on August 9, 2021.
 
Thames finished his first season with a 6-10 record overall, and a 2-6 conference play record. Down the stretch of the season Thames coached the Blue & Gold to big back-to-back wins, scoring four goals in each of those games. Nigel Buckley, a senior forward, and a member of Coach Thames 2021 roster, was named to the Philadelphia Soccer 6 All-Star Team.
 
Thames joined the La Salle staff with over a decade of Division I coaching experience, most recently at Army West Point.

During his two seasons with the Cadets, Thames was heavily involved in the program's recruiting efforts and was key in helping bring in a stellar 2020 class that was ranked 18th in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer, and the 2021 class that was ranked 19th in the country.

With Thames on the staff, two Cadets garnered Second Team All-Patriot League accolades in Zac McGraw and Keenan O'Shea. McGraw additionally was the first Cadet in program history to be selected in the MLS Superdraft after he was picked by the Portland Timbers in the third round.

During his time on the banks of the Hudson, Thames also played a pivotal role of the emergence and development of Jacob Suppiah. After missing nearly his entire rookie season due to injury, Suppiah returned as a sophomore and posted a pair of shutouts. He finished his season with a 0.88 goals-against average in seven matches played and was key in the draw against No. 19 Navy on Oct. 11 in the annual Army-Navy Cup at Talen Energy Stadium.

Thames arrived at West Point with over nine years of coaching and playing experience after a four-year stint as an assistant coach at Cincinnati. 

With the Bearcats, he coached a defense that posted 16 clean sheets and compiled 27 wins. During his second year on the staff, Cincinnati ranked inside the top five in the American Athletic Conference in goals against average, goals allowed, saves and shutouts. He also coached one First Team All-AAC player, five second team standouts and four all-rookie team selections while with the program.

Prior to his time in Cincinnati, he spent two years on the coaching staff at Stony Brook as an assistant. Thames assisted in recruiting, while overseeing equipment, travel, the program's budget and NCAA compliance records. He also prepared and executed the conditioning and recovery programs on top of team training with a specific emphasis on the goalkeepers.

Before heading out to Long Island, Thames served in a similar capacity at Mount St. Mary's in Maryland. In three seasons there, he oversaw recruiting, as well as the design and implementation of training with oversight of the keepers. In addition, Thames was responsible for community and alumni outreach and he worked with student-athletes to oversee their class schedules and provide academic support.

He also has extensive youth coaching experience and is currently the Director of Coaching at Cornwall United, a role he took on July 1, 2019. Thames previously spent time as the Director of Goalkeeping and was the head coach for Cincinnati Elite FC. He additionally was the at the helm of the senior age group Ohio Elite SA from 2015-18.

Before trekking west, Thames held the role of head coach for the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association's (MSYSA) U-17 team and for the F.C. Frederick's U-15 squad. He was instrumental in coaching the keepers with both groups, serving as the assistant director of goalkeeping for MSYSA and the director of goalkeeping at F.C. Frederick. While with F.C. Frederick, he also worked in the Olympic Development Program as the U-18 head coach for Maryland. Under his guidance, the team finished as a finalist in the regional tournament in 2013.

He has a Senior-A level coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation and a goalkeeping diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

A native of the Washington, D.C., area, Thames played in the Washington Premier League (WPL), a semi-professional league, for Washington Elite F.C. from 2010-13.

Before embarking on his semi-pro career, he was a four-year standout at Delaware. With the Blue Hens, he finished his career ranked sixth in career shutouts, ninth in saves, fifth in goals against average and seventh in minutes played. Twice a Dean's List honoree, he graduated from Delaware in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. 

Thames resides in the Philadelphia area with his wife Christine, and their three kids: Chase (6), Crew (3), and Cora (1).

Aidan Rahill

Fairfield

Division 1

Aidan Rahill was appointed assistant coach of the Fairfield University men's soccer team in July of 2023.


Rahill comes to Fairfield with five years of coaching experience, most recently serving as the First Assistant Men's Soccer Coach and later Interim Head Coach at Manhattanville College. During his tenure at Manhattanville the Valiants achieved a No. 7 Regional ranking and the 2022 Skyline Conference Regular Season Title. Rahill had two athletes named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Region three team, seven athletes named to the Skyline All-Conference teams and the Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Year. The Valiants finished their season with a 9-5-4 overall record.


Rahill also spent 2023 working with the New York Red Bulls as an Academy Performance Analyst, working closely with the U13, U14, U15 and U17 academy teams out of Whippany, New Jersey. His role involved pre-match, in-game and post-match analysis, along with individual clipping and opposition scouting. In his time with New York Red Bulls, Rahill worked closely with many talented players. He travelled with the U15 academy team to Dallas, Texas and played a part in their run when they were crowned the 2023 MLS Next Cup Champions.


Previous to Manhattanville and New York Red Bulls, Rahill served as the First Assistant Men's Soccer Coach and later Interim Head Coach at Coastal Bend College for the 2021-22 season. While with the Cougars, Rahill assisted with the development of weekly practice plans and evaluations of student-athletes. Rahill was also the recruiting coordinator for Coastal Bend men's soccer, helping to recruit student-athletes and attending camps across the world to recruit players. In addition to organizing and planning team travel and breaking down opponent film, Rahill was the team's social media manager, helping to develop an identity for Cougar Men's Soccer online. Coastal Bend reached a No. 5 national ranking while Rahill was on the sidelines in the 2021 season and mentored three All-Region XIV players. 


After finishing the 2021-22 season at Coastal Bend, Rahill served as a First Team Assistant Coach and Head Reserve Coach at St. Louis Lions of the USL 2 as they narrowly missed out on a playoff spot. The St. Louis Lions were ranked as high as No. 14 Nationally in the USL 2 during the 2022 season.


Prior to making his way to Coastal Bend, Rahill served as an Assistant Coach at Barca Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina earlier in 2021, conducting practice sessions while joining a travel team that made its way along the east coast throughout the summer. Rahill also served as a coach for the Football Association of Ireland in 2018. He currently holds a USSF "C" License. 


Rahill was a member of the Missouri Valley College men's soccer team from 2017 to 2021, serving as the team's vice-captain in his senior year. Missouri Valley mens soccer would claim the NAIA National Championship in the 2020-21 season for the first time in the programs very successful history. Rahill was also a 2020 NAIA Scholar Athlete whilst a student-athlete with the Vikings. Rahill played for the St. Louis Lions of USL League Two in 2019 before playing for Alamo City SC out of San Antonio, Texas in 2020.


Rahill is a 2021 graduate of Missouri Valley College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management along with a Minor in Accounting. He currently resides in Fairfield, CT.

Spencer Pappas

Assistant Men's Soccer Coach/Recruiting Coordinator

Division 1

Spencer Pappas enters his sixth season as assistant coach of the Titans in 2019-20. He joined the University of Detroit Mercy mens soccer team prior to the start of the 2014 season as an assistant coach. He earned the additional title of recruiting coordinator in February 2018.

Pappas has helped coach the Titans to 27 victories during his five years as an assistant coach and a share of the Horizon League regular-season crown in 2014.

The Titans saw their share of success in 2017, recording seven victories and reaching the semifinals of the Horizon League Championship. Detroit Mercy topped Milwaukee in penalty kicks to advance in the league tournament for the first time since 2012.

Tyler Moorman and Spiro Pliakos earned a bevy of honors during and after the 2017 season with Moorman being named All-Region and Scholar All-Region and Pliakos becoming the first Titan male student-athlete in school history to receive First Team Academic All-American laurels. Pliakos also was the second player in school history to earn All-Conference accolades in all four seasons of his playing career.

In his first two seasons as the assistant coach for the Titans, the team has finished with winning records and qualified for the Horizon League Championship tournament in each season. In 2015, the Titans went 7-5-8 and dropped just one game during the conference season, going 3-1-5. Detroit Mercy also earned its first victory in program history over the University of Michigan, winning 2-1 in Ann Arbor. As a squad, the team notched the second-lowest goals against average in school history (0.99) and three Titans were named All-Horizon League.

Pappas helped coach the Titans to a 9-7-4 record and a share of the Horizon League regular season crown in 2014. The squad held the opposition to the fewest goals per game (0.89) in school history, allowing just 19 goals in 20 contests. Pappas helped coach Spiro Pliakos to Horizon League Freshman of the Year honors.
 
This is a tremendous hire for our soccer program and as a whole for UDM, said Titan head coach Nicholas Deren at the time of his hiring. His hard work and dedication will enhance our program as we look to make a run at a Horizon League Championship. He will serve as a great liaison and a solid resource for our young men.

Ten (10) Titans have been named All-League during Pappas' five-year tenure as assistant coach, including Spiro Pliakos who was All-League in all four years, while Nathan Steinwascher was the Horizon League Goalkeeper of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in 2014.
 
Pappas was as an assistant coach at Albion for two seasons leading training sessions and organizing all aspects of recruiting. Pappas is also currently on the coaching staff for the Michigan Jaguars FC in Novi. He has previously worked with the Jackson Rush Soccer Club and TNT Soccer Club.
 
Pappas earned his bachelors degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State with a specialization in coaching. While at MSU, Pappas worked with the Michigan State men's soccer team, including their run to the 2010 NCAA Sweet 16.
 
He owns a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "C", D and E License as well as a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Advanced National Diploma.

Henrik Sohn

James Madison mens soccer head coach Paul Zazenski has announced the addition of Henrik Sohn as director of soccer operations on Feb. 22, 2023.
 
The program is pleased to have Henrik Sohn join our staff in a director of soccer operations capacity, said Zazenski. Henrik has a great resume and understanding of what it takes to be successful at the college level having run his own program for the past four seasons. He is organized and hardworking and we will look to use those strengths in his director of soccer operations role. We are excited to Henrik start this spring.
 
Sohn comes to Harrisonburg after spending the previous six seasons at Kansas Wesleyan of the NAIA, serving as an assistant coach with an emphasis on goalkeeping for the womens soccer program before being elevated to head coach for the last four seasons. Overall, the team put together a combined 74-39-8 while he was on the staff that included a 47-29-4 record while at the helm of the program. 
 
Under his tutelage, Kansas Wesleyan saw a KCAC Newcomer of the Year honoree, a NAIA All-American selection and 22 KCAC All-Conference selections. His teams also all finished in the top three during the regular season and advanced to at least the semifinals of the conference tournament. During the final three seasons, he simultaneously served as director of soccer where he had administrative oversight of both mens and womens soccer programs and was an advisor to the mens head coach.
 
A two-time NAIA Academic All-American, Sohn played collegiately at now University of Providence and received his bachelors in 2016 in health and human performance. Sohn and Zazenski cross paths again, as Zazenski served as his head coach for his first two seasons that saw the Argos win a pair of Frontier Conference regular season titles. He then received a masters degree in business administration in 2019 from Kansas Wesleyan.

Sean Streb

ean Streb joins the Rochester mens soccer coaching staff in the spring of 2022, bringing with him a solid resume of playing and coaching experience on the soccer pitch.
 
Streb spent the last two seasons on the sidelines as First Assistant Coach at SUNY Cortland, helping the Red Dragons to a SUNYAC title and NCAA Division III Sweet 16 appearance in the 2021 season. While at Cortland, Streb was a key recruiter for the Red Dragons and had additional duties such as being the teams academic performance manager and travel operations manager.
 
Additionally, Strebs coaching experience extends to the club level where he has been Head Coach of the Syracuse Rush Soccer Club 2006 Boys, 2008 Boys and 2010 Girls teams over the last two years.
 
Streb also worked in New York City with E3Sports, serving in a variety of roles from 2017-2020. Also in that timespan, he was a coach with various teams throughout the New York City area, including stints as Varsity Girls Coach at Trevor Day School and Varsity Boys Coach at Riverdale Country School.
 
A graduate of SUNY Cortland, Streb played two years with the Red Dragons soccer team, being named team captain as a senior in 2015. He earned All-Conference honors in back-to-back seasons on defense for the Red Dragons and added All-Region accolades to his accomplishments in 2015.
 
Prior to playing at Cortland, Streb was a two-time captain and All-American at Tompkins Cortland Community College.
 
He earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology in 2017 from Cortland. Streb received his Masters degree at Cortland in Exercise Science in May 2022.

Tyler Madeira

Two-time all-conference forward Tyler Madeira joined the Muhlenberg men's soccer coaching staff for the 2021 season. Since his arrival at Muhlenberg, the Mules have won an ECAC Championship as well as a Centennial Conference Championship in back-to-back seasons.

Madeira played four years at Bloomsburg University, finishing his career with 39 points on 17 goals and 5 assists. He earned a spot on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference team twice, making the second team as a junior and the first team as a senior. Madeira led the Huskies with 10 goals in 2018, becoming the first Bloomsburg player in 15 years to record a hat trick.

Chris Koch

Christopher Koch joined the men's soccer staff in March 2019 after a three-year stint on the sidelines for his alma mater, Washington (Md.) College, after the completion of his career on the pitch for the Shoremen. In Koch's time with the school, WC totaled 22 victories, including 10 victories in the 2016 season when the Shoremen advanced to the Centennial Conference semifinals. During Koch's time on the sidelines, seven players were named All-Centennial Conference.

As a player, Koch was a four-year defenseman for head coach Roy Dunshee, serving as captain in his senior season. During his senior campaign in 2015, Washington College posted its best record since 2003, while holding opponents to 1.24 goals per match. 

The Hadley, Massachusetts native graduated from Washington College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

Joe Ruesgen

Joseph Ruesgen is going into his sixth season as an assistant coach of the NYU men's soccer team. His responsibilities include assisting Head Coach Kim Wyant with the playing squad, organizing the day-to-day operations, on-field sessions and game strategies, while also handling the recruiting duties.

Ruesgen previously spent two years as head coach of SUNY Purchases women's soccer team, posting an overall 12-22-1 record and a 7-10-1 in the Skyline Conference. In addition, he served as the men's Head Coach with the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) in the Cosmopolitan League and NPSL, in addition to coaching at the youth level in both NY and NJ.

Rob Brandell

Hobart College

Brandell joined the Hobart soccer staff in February of 2022. 

In his first season on the sidelines for the Statesmen, Brandell guided the team to an 8-5-5 overall record.Hobart earned the six seed in the Liberty League tournament. The eight wins were highlighted by victories over seventh-ranked Rochester and 20th-ranked Clarkson.

Brandell came to Hobart after spending two years at Gettysburg College as an assistant coach on the soccer and tennis teams. In one season with the Bullets, he helped them to a 13-6-2 overall record. Gettysburg finished runner-up in the Centennial Conference tournament and earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament. He mentored six All-Centennial Conference selections and had nine players named to the Centennial Conferences Academic Honor Roll.
 
Brandell also spent two years as a graduate assistant at Misericordia. He was involved in all aspects of the mens soccer program, including recruitment, player development, game day management, scouting, film breakdown and alumni engagement. The Cougars were 4-3-0 in MAC Freedom play during the 2019 season. Brandell completed his masters degree in organizational management in 2020.
 
A 2017 graduate of St. Lawrence, Brandell was a three-time All-Liberty League selection, earning first team honors in 2014, second team honors in 2016 and honorable mention praise in 2017. As a sophomore, he racked up 20 points on eight goals and four assists, guiding the Saints to a 17-2-2 overall record and a Liberty League regular season and tournament title. Brandell helped the Saints to four NCAA tournament appearances highlighted by a run to the quarterfinals in 2013. Brandell also earned NSCAA All-East Region first team honors and All-ECAC praise in 2014.
 
Brandells coaching education includes a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper 1 Diploma, United Soccer Coaches Grassroots Coaching Introduction and United Soccer Coaches Special Topics Diploma.

Benjamin Mortimer

Ben Mortimer joins UDC from George Washington University after 3 years as Assistant coach with the Revolutionaries.

A two-time Atlantic 10 champion during his playing career in Buff and Blue from 2002-05, he brought nearly 15 years of coaching experience to the program.

As a student-athlete, Mortimer was a standout defender during one of the program's most successful periods.

The England, native was part of A-10 title runs in 2002 and 2004 while also being celebrated individually with All-Conference (2004, 2005), All-Region (2004) and All A-10 Championship (2004) honors. He closed his decorated career with 65 total starts while contributing seven goals and four assists along the way.

After graduating in 2006 with a degree in English, Mortimer quickly transitioned into coaching with a variety of local organizations, including a seven-year run on staff at American University.

With the Eagles, Mortimer was part of a program that won 62 games and claimed a pair of Patriot League regular season titles during his tenure.

Mortimer also served as technical director with Excite Soccer and spent a decade as part of the leadership team of DC Stoddert Soccer. Since 2012, he has owned and operated FourSoccer running local camps and clinics, as well.

Mortimer holds a USSF National A License, USC Premier Diploma as well as a National Goalkeeping License and has recently been active in training coaches through the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association.

Joe Ilett

Joe Ilett '09 joined the Tritons staff in April 2024 as the interim head men's soccer coach before being elevated to head coach in December 2024. he enters his second year at the held for the 2025 season.  

In his first year with the Tritons, Ilett helped guided Eckerd back to the SSC Tournament for the first time since 2016, with a run at the end of the season, including a win over No. 23 Florida Tech. He also led the Tritons to an upset win over Division I Stetson. 


Ilett rejoined the team in the spring of 2024 as an assistant, helping guide the Tritons. He also spent time as an assistant coach for Eckerd from 2009-11. 

He has a background working at the professional level, spending the 2021-22 season as the UPSL Head Coach of the St.Petersburg Aztecs, the 2016-17 season with the Colchester United Football Club in England as the Development Coach and FITC Community Sport Coach, and the Technical Coach with West Ham United in 2013. 

Ilett brings a wealth of experience from the youth and prep level as well, spending four years with Chicago Fire Soccer from 2013-17, as the Director of Boys Soccer at AYSO Region 300 Extra Program in Illinois from 2015-16, as a coach with the Lyons Township Soccer Club in Illinois from 2017-19, four years with the Chargers Soccer Club in Clearwater spending time as the Academy Coach and Academy Director from 2019-2023, and with the Tampa Bay United Soccer Club in 2023. 

Ilett was a four-year member of the men's soccer team, appearing in 67 games with 25 goals and 16 assists. He was a two-time all-conference selection, earning honorable mention honors in 2005 and second-team honors in 2008. He ranks fifth in program history in career goals and tied for fourth in career assists.

Miguel Mendoza

Miguel Mendoza is in his second season as a assistant coach with the Concordia University Irvine mens soccer team.
 
Mendoza played for the Eagles from 2014-2017 and earned his bachelors degree in exercise sports science (ESS). As a player, he was named 2016 PacWest Newcomer of the Year and was voted Second Team All-PacWest that same season.
 
As a Graduate assistant Mendoza has just finished his Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration (MCAA). Mendoza serves as the Technical coach for both the Mens and Womens Soccer Teams at CUI. 

Tyler Smith

North Central (IL)

Division 1

Tyler Smith begins his first year as an Assistant Coach for the Wisconsin men's soccer team.

He arrived in Madison after spending a season with North Central College as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach. He helped coach North Central College to a CCIW championship title and a NCAA DIII tournament appearance in 2024. Smith orchestrated a defense that posted a 0.79 goals against average (GAA) in over 20 matches and contributed to three first-time all-region selections, including an all-region freshman goalkeeper. He also head-coached the Reserves to an undefeated season (7-0-1) against CCIW, NAIA, and JUCO competition.

Prior to his time with North Central College, Smith served as an Illinois ODP goalkeeper coach. In this role he coached a group of elite 14-18 year-old goalkeepers, four US ODP National players, and numerous all-region selections.

Smith has four years of collegiate experience under his belt, playing for Earlham College from 2020-2023. During this time he set single-season and all-time records for games played, starts, minutes, saves, and save percentage. Smith also represented Earlham College and Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) as an NCAA DIII SAAC Representative, serving three terms as SAAC President. 

While playing at Earlham, Smith earned a Bachelors Degree in English and Media & Communications with a Minor in Sports Management. Smith has also completed his USSF D coaching license and has earned United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Coaching Diplomas.

Zack MacDougall

Zack MacDougall enters his first season with the Eagles as an assistant coach under head coach Jason Kilby. Prior to coming to UMW, he was an assistant coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College for a season.

In MacDougall's lone season with the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan, he helped guide them to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2008. The Bishops finished with an overall record of 15-6, including a regular season and tournament championship. During his time in North Carolina, he helped coach the North Carolina Olympic Development Program.

From 2012-2017, MacDougall earned his first assistant coaching gig with the men's soccer team at Randolph College. In his first season there, he helped the Wildcats reach a national ranking of #18. In 2013, Randolph finished with a 17-2-1 record which was good for a regular season championship as well as ranked #15 nationally. He secured two ODAC tournament finals appearances. MacDougall was a key part in recruiting while at Randolph as he brought in players that earned the accolades of All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American.

While coaching at Randolph, he also coached the Rustburg High School girls soccer team from 2015-2017. MacDougall was named head coach of the year in the conference twicer after leading the school to its first winning season and set the program record for wins in a season.

Zack was a four-year letterman at Randolph College where he was a member of the inaugural men's soccer program in 2007. He made a big impact for the Wildcats as he was a captain for two years, won the coach's award, and was named to numerous All-Tournament teams. MacDougall gained second team All-ODAC and Academic All-Conference honors in 2010 which was the year in which they gained their first ODAC tournament victory. MacDougall holds a Bachelor's Degree in History and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education, both obtained at Randolph College.

Bill Garno

Garno begins his 21st season at the helm of the Rochester Institute of Technology mens soccer team in 2016. In that time, Garno has led the Tigers to three appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament (2000, 2001 and 2004), a spot in the 2011 Liberty League title game and three Empire 8 championships. In 2000 and 2006, Garno earned Empire 8 Coach of the Year honors. Over the past 20 seasons, Garnos teams have compiled a 167-152-34 record (.521). He is one of only two coaches to eclipse the 100-win plateau in RIT mens soccer coaching history, and sits second in wins behind the late Doug May, a member of the RIT Athletics Hall of Fame, whom Garno played for. Under Garnos tutelage, 43 different Tigers earned All-Empire 8 honors from 1999 to 2010. Eight Tigers were named All-Liberty League honors since the Tigers joined the conference in 2011, including Scott Fishel, Gene Sicoli, Raul Silva and Rueben Marquez who were 2015 selections. Garno has coached three different Empire 8 Players of the Year and three Rookies of the Year, along with numerous academic honorees, including Sean Coots who was a 2012 CoSIDA Academic All-Region selection and a NSCAA Academic All-Region honoree. In 2015 Fishel and Luke Dorsey earned CoSIDA Academic All-Region honors. Dorsey was also named the winner of RITs prestigious Ellingson Award for academic excellence. Mike Lawson, who recently had a scholarship named in his honor at RITs National Technical Institute for the Deaf, was a two-time NSCAA Academic All American (2004 & 2005) and a two-time Empire 8 Player of the Year. The Tigers placed eight players on the Liberty League All-Academic squad in 2015. From 1983 to 1986, Garno was a defender for the Tigers, helping RIT to an impeccable 59-8-6 record, four conference titles and four appearances in the NCAA Tournament. After a successful collegiate career at RIT, Garno turned to coaching. Prior to taking over at RIT, he served as an assistant coach at the University of Rochester from 1992 to 1995. Garno is active in the local youth soccer scene, currently coaching for FC Dynamo ROC, and also having coached in the Empire United Soccer Academy, Hilton Heat, and Rochester Junior Rhinos, soccer clubs. He also has served as a head coach for the New York State West Olympic Development Program. A 1988 graduate of RIT, Garno was the Director of the Printing Applications Laboratory in RITs Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies for 21 years before being named the full-time mens soccer coach in Oct., 2012. He lives in Hilton, N.Y., with his wife, Marcey. They have three children, Bailey (23), Ellie (21), and Simon (18), who will begin his first year at RIT in the fall of 2016.

Cody Carlson stepped into the newly formed role of full-time Assistant Mens Soccer Coach under the direction of Head Coach Ralph Perez in July 2018. 

Most recently, Carlson served as the Director of Operations for Mens Soccer at the University of Portland.  He contributed to the Pilots tied-for-second-place showing in the West Coast Conference by assisting with equipment management, video analysis, camp development, team travel, among other things. He also coached the U-12 and U-15 boys age groups at FC Portland and won the 2018 Presidents Cup in Oregon with the U-15 team. 

A student of the game, he currently holds his United States Soccer Federation B Coaching License and was recently named the Head Coach for Redlands F.C., which competes in USL League 2.

Carlson originally worked with the Bulldogs from 2014 to 2017, both as a graduate assistant and then in a part-time role.  While at Redlands, he helped the squad gain its highest national ranking ever when it reached No. 7 upon conclusion of the 2016 campaign.  The Bulldogs captured the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) regular-season championship each of his three seasons while also securing the SCIAC Postseason Tournament title in 2015 and 2016.  The Maroon and Gray advanced to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals in 2016 to better the squads second-round appearance from the previous year. Carlson was among the 2015 SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-West Region Staff of the Year in 2015 and 2016. 

Overall, Carlson assisted in the development and success of 12 All-SCIAC players, one SCIAC Athlete of the Year, and eight NSCAA All-West Region selections.  With academics as a priority, he also coached three NSCAA Scholar All-Americans and a pair of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District honorees.

In addition to coaching, Carlson completed his Master of Arts in Management through the School of Business at the University of Redlands.

In 2016, Carlson also served as the Head Coach of the Redlands High School boys varsity team.  In that one year, he elevated the Terriers from eighth place in the Citrus Belt League to third place while also making the CIF playoffs.  Finally, he gained coaching experience by leading the IER Pateadores B2000s and Riverside Coras of the NPSL.

Carlson earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Redlands in 2012. As a four-year student-athlete, he competed for the Bulldog mens soccer program and earned significant awards along the way. His presence on the field was unmatched during the 2011 season, as the Bulldog forward earned the 2011 SCIAC Athlete of the Year award.   In addition, he was a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection and landed on the NSCAA All-West Region team on three occasions.  After the 2010 season, he became an NSCAA All-American.

During his tenure, the Bulldogs won the SCIAC Championship in three of his four seasons and twice advanced to the NCAA Championships.  As a senior, Carlson played an integral role in the teams 16-game win streak en route to an NCAA Sweet 16 run.

Furthermore, he shined in the classroom, earning 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-District honors and 2011 NSCAA Scholar All-America accolades.

He currently resides in Redlands.

Ian Eggleston

2018 was Ian Eggleston's first year as head men's soccer coach at Soka University of America. Coach Eggleston joined Soka from Cal State University San Marcos, where he was the lead men's assistant since 2014. Ian brings over 20 years of experience coaching men's soccer, primarily in Southern California, at the NCAA Division 2, NAIA, community college, high school and club levels. Ian has also spent the past 20 years working in education as a teacher, counselor, career counselor, principal and dean of students.

While at Cal State San Marcos Ian helped the program record 24 wins over two seasons in the NAIA before transitioning to Division 2 and competing in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CAAA). CSUSM beat nationally ranked teams in four of Ian's year working with the team. Coach Eggleston has also spent the last two seasons working with LA Galaxy San Diego's Elite and US Soccer Developmental Academy teams.

Ian grew up near Nottingham in England, where he played for Nottingham Forest Academy U/18s before being recruited to play at the University of Evansville, a nationally ranked Division 1 program in Indiana. At Evansville Ian became the teams leading scorer, captain and MVP while playing as both a central midfielder and forward and helping the team to qualify for the NCAA D1 tournament two of his four years. After playing semi-professionally for the Louisville Thoroughbreds in the USISL for one year, Ian moved to California for his graduate studies. While completing his M.A in Counselling and College Student Services at the University of San Diego, Ian was also the assistant men's coach at Mesa College.

After completing his graduate work, coach Eggleston moved back to England to become the dean of students and men's and women's head soccer coach at Harlaxton College, an American study broad program affiliated with the University of Evansville. Ian returned to San Diego in 2002 to become a founding teacher at High Tech High International a diverse free public charter school, where he taught humanities for five years, before becoming the schools principal. Ian also coached boys and girls soccer at HTHI while also working with local club soccer teams. In 2011 Ian and his wife Catherine opened their fitness studio, The Bar Method Carlsbad and moved up to Carlsbad, where they still live today.

Nate Millette

Millette has been instrumental in the transition of the mens soccer program to the Division I ranks. Over the course of the five year reclassification period, Millette has helped the program improve immensely, both on the field and in the classroom.  The Bulldogs came off their best season since joining the Division I ranks, finishing 9-5-3 in 2014, earning the program's second-straight Division I postseason appearance and setting records for most wins in a season (9), NEC wins in a season (5), the highest finish in the NEC Standings (2nd), and five All-NEC recipients. Millette continues to play a key role in all aspects of the Bulldog program from recruiting and scouting, to student-athlete development.  Joining the Bryant University community in 2007, Millette worked as a Graduate Assistant to the Athletic Administration, focusing on the areas of Event Management, Equipment Room, and Facility Operations.  In 2008, he joined the Mens Soccer program as an Assistant Coach while continuing his role in Operations through 2010, following the completion of his MBA. 2008 is also when Millette started his career as a youth soccer coach with Bruno United FC.  While assisting with the U15 and U16 Boys Clubs they won three straight State Cup Titles.  In 2011, Nate led the U16 Bayside FC Boys to the US Region I Championships in Lancaster, PA. Millette graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2006 with a Bachelors degree from the renowned Sport Management program as a part of The Isenburg School of Business.  He also received a minor in Psychology while attending UMass.  Millette was a walk-on freshmen for the Minutemen Soccer program.  He also played for the Western Mass Pioneers in the USL Super-20 League before his career was cut short because of injury prior to his junior season.  During his senior year, Nate was the Assistant Coach for the Amherst HS Boys team and was the Director of Operations for the Third Annual SoccerFest tournament sponsored by ADIDAS. A native of Scituate, R.I., Millette graduated from Scituate HS in 2002 where he played four years of soccer, basketball, and baseball.  While excelling at all three sports, he was a standout soccer player in the open-division and was named All-Conference for four consecutive years.  As a senior-captain, Millette finished second in the league in points splitting time at center back and center midfield, earning All-State honors.   A staple in the RI premier soccer league, Nate won 6 state cup titles with the Northern Lightning, South Coast United, and Mid-State Stompers.

Zach Watson

Helping Cal Poly achieve an historic defensive effort during his first season as a member of Oige Kennedys staff in 2024, Zach Watson serves as the programs assistant coach and goalkeeper trainer.
 
On the way to claiming the programs first Big West title in 2024, Cal Poly set new team records for fewest goals conceded (13, six of which were penalties) and fewest goals per game (0.68) while matching the mark for fewest defeats (four) and producing nine shutouts.
 
With Nicky McCune named 2024 Big West Goalkeeper of the Year, Cal Polys defense conceded multiple goals just twice in 19 outings. Registering a nine-match unbeaten run midway through the 2024 season, Cal Poly lost just once in its final 15 games.
 
Watson arrived at Cal Poly after serving as the lead assistant coach at Division II Newberry (S.C.) College for the past three years. Heading the teams development efforts, Watson also coached the programs reserve side, directing Newberrys second squad to the 2021 South Atlantic League title. With Watson on the bench, eight total Wolves earned All-SAC first team selection.
 
Zach is a valuable addition to our program and complements the very diligent and extremely dedicated staff that we have at Cal Poly, third-year Cal Poly head coach Oige Kennedy said. He brings extensive experience in collegiate soccer from his Division I playing days and as a coach at the Division II and III levels.
 
His expertise in the goalkeeper position has undoubtedly improved our keepers and in the short period hes been working with them, we can already see a positive impact. Were fortunate to have such a highly rated young coach come and join us here in San Luis Obispo. With his strong work ethic and clear dedication to his profession, were excited to see his continued growth with our program.
 
Watson a native of Bridgewater, Mass. spent the two years prior to his time at Newberry as an assistant coach with Division III Curry College (Milton, Mass.). While at Curry, Watson worked primarily with the program's goalkeepers, who led the Commonwealth Coast Conference in total saves during the 2019 season.
 
Concurrently, Watson served as an academy staff coach with Major League Soccers New England Revolution and coached youth teams with Steel United.
 
With the Revolution, Watson ran goalkeeper programs with partnered clubs and town programs and oversaw the development of youth boys and girls goalkeepers between the U-8 and U-18 levels. He also worked alongside the academy goalkeeper director in the regional development school program to create and execute foundational-level goalkeeper training sessions.
 
Watson played collegiately at Division I Sacred Heart (Fairfield, Conn.) from 2014-17, graduating with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He then played one graduate season at Division II Coker (Hartsville, S.C.), earning his masters degree in college athletics administration in 2019.
 
Watson currently holds his UEFA B License, USSF C License, a USC Advanced National Diploma and a Level 1 goalkeeper diploma. Hes also a Regional level referee and has worked numerous high level competitions including the U.S Open Cup and MLS and USL preseason matches.

Brendan Ujvary

Ujvary is in his second year as an assistant coach for the Hamilton College men's soccer program. He was an assistant with the Utica College men's team in 2013 and 2014.
Ujvary helped guide the Pioneers to a pair of Empire 8 playoff appearances, including the program's first trip to the championship game in 2013. Utica players received eight all-conference team honors and one Empire 8 rookie of the year award during his time at the school. Ujvary recently obtained his National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma.
Prior to Utica, Ujvary coached youth soccer from the Hudson Valley to Long Island. His time spent with Coerver Soccer Coaching and the Long Island Rough Riders ages U10 to U13 was a great experience.
Ujvary played college soccer at SUNY New Paltz. The defender appeared in 53 games with 41 starts over the course of three seasons. As a senior, he helped lead the Hawks to the SUNYAC quarterfinals in 2011. Ujvary was a member of the Dean's List all four years, made the NSCAA all-academic team and represented the soccer program on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Ujvary graduated with a degree in adolescent education with a specialization in social studies and a geography minor. He also has a master's degree in special education from Utica. He is from Kings Park, N.Y., and played soccer at Kings Park High School.

Bryan Longo

Longo enters his sixth year as assistant coach for the MIT men's soccer team this fall. Longo has been involved with coaching soccer for the past 14 years which includes two years as the head coach of the Lexington High School Boys Varsity team, where he led the team to a record of 25-4-6 and back-to-back Middlesex League titles in 2014 and 2015. Longo also spent one year as a pro coach of the Lexington United Soccer Club, five years as a staff coach for SFC New England and 11 years as a coach at the Soccer 101 Academy. Longo holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Seton Hall University and a masters in business administration  from Bentley University. Longo was a Division I men's soccer player in the Big East Conference at Seton Hall, starting 62 games in midfield from 2007-2010. Longo also holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma 

Joey O'Keefe

Throughout O'Keefe's career as the Biola men's soccer head coach, he has instructed one United Soccer Coaches Association Scholar All-American, three United Soccer Coaches Association All-West Region players, three D2CCA All-West Region selections, one PacWest Defender of the Year, one PacWest Newcomer of the Year, one PacWest Freshman of the Year, eight All-PacWest selections, one PacWest Player of the Week, and 20 Academic All-PacWest players. 

2021 was a special year for O'Keefe and the Eagles as they paved the way for future soccer generations with a historic 2021 season. O'Keefe led the men's soccer team to their highest conference placement since 2015 (third place) and first ever NCAA West Regional where they played one match against Cal Poly Pomona.

O'Keefe's program was showered with well-deserved awards for an epic 2021 season. He received three of the PacWest's four major individual awards, including Defender of the Year (Izaac Zausch), Newcomer of the Year (Theo Le Calve), and Freshman of the Year (Adam Jones). He proceeded to bring in eight all-conference selections, three all-region picks, one First Team All-American, and 20 Academic All-PacWest players. 

Biola received All-Region nods from two publications and one All-American achievement under O'Keefe's lead in the 2021 campaign. The D2CCA and the United Soccer Coaches Association recognized Zausch as First Team All-Region. The United Soccer Coaches later named Zausch a Scholar All-American. Le Calv and Lawarence Kwazema were highlighted separately as Second Team All-Region picks from both associations.

Prior to returning to Biola, O'Keefe spent two seasons at Westcliff, helping the Warriors to a 19-6-4 combined overall record. O'Keefe was instrumental for the Warriors, coaching the inaugural men's and women's soccer teams in 2019. The pair of teams found immediate success with O'Keefe at the helm, holding a combined .863 winning percentage.

O'Keefe returns to the Eagles after playing four seasons for Biola during his collegiate career. O'Keefe earned three All-GSAC awards, a GSAC Player of the Year award, as well as a NAIA First Team All-American award as a student-athlete at Biola. 

In his playing career, O'Keefe played in the PDL for three seasons before signing a contract to play professionally in Salzburg, Austria. Since returning back to the States, O'Keefe has worked with the LA Galaxy traveling internationally to scout talent to bring back to the Galaxy 2 USL squad.

O'Keefe also made an impact for the soccer program at Pacifica Christian High School. As the team's head coach, O'Keefe earned a trio of coach of the year awards from 2017-2020.

He has this to say about rejoining Biola Athletics:
"I graciously accept the stewardship role that I have been given and I intend on developing generations of quality student-athletes that Biola can be proud of. The opportunity to pour back into the young men of this program is a dream come true for me. I am committed to the growth of these young men; spiritually, academically and athletically."

Kyle Schauls

Schauls, a former goalkeeper at Division III Wartburg College and assistant coach at Division I Western Michigan, was named the mens head soccer coach at Illinois Wesleyan University on July 7, 2014.

In his two seasons his teams have compiled an overall record of 13-21-2 (.389) with a mark of 3-11-0 (.214) in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
In his first season at IWU, Schauls's team was 7-12 with six games against teams that qualified for the NCAA Division III tournament.

In 2013 Schauls was an assistant coach at the University of Rochester with a team that finished 15-3-2, went 10-0-1 at home, won the University Athletic Association championship and lost 1-0 to Montclair State in the round of 16 of the NCAA Division III tournament.

From 2010 to 2012 Schauls was an assistant at Western Michigan, where teams were a combined 27-26-7 and were regular contenders at the top of the Mid-American Conference. The WMU 2012 team posted an 11-6-2 record, spent 12 straight weeks in the top 10 of the NSCAA Great Lakes Regional rankings, and received votes for the national top 25 for three weeks during the season.

Schauls worked closely with the Bronco goalkeeping unit, which posted a .91 GAA on the season, the Broncos lowest mark since 1989. His other responsibilities included overseeing the areas of compliance, recruiting, travel, academics, equipment, video analysis, camps, community outreach, and scouting.

In 2011, WMU made its second straight appearance in the Mid-American Conference championship game as the Broncos ousted defending national champion Akron in the semifinals. WMU also posted a signature regular-season win over in-state rival Michigan, beating the Wolverines for the first time ever in Ann Arbor.

Schauls previous coaching experience includes four seasons (2007-10) as the varsity assistant at West High School in Waterloo, Iowa, where he participated in all phases of coaching and specialized in goalkeeper instruction and training. West High produced an all-conference goalkeeper in both 2008 and 2009, and Schauls was a member of the 2009 Mississippi Valley Conference Coaching Staff of the Year. He has also coached at the No. 1 Soccer Camps in Fulton, Mo., and Kenosha, Wis. Additionally, he founded the Cedar Valley Goalkeeper Camp for youth goalies in Waterloo, Iowa.

At Wartburg, Schauls was a goalkeeper and a member of three consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament qualifying teams. He was also an Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference selection in his senior season.

Schauls earned a bachelors degree in physical education from Wartburg in 2010 and a masters degree in sport management from Western Michigan in 2012. He has earned both the National Coaching Diploma and National Goalkeeping Diploma from the NSCAA.
