Andrew Coughlin

Coughlin joined the Orange staff as a volunteer assistant coach in 2016. A Syracuse native, Coughlin has five years of experience playing at the collegiate level and is actively playing professionally.
 
Coughlin started his collegiate soccer career at Syracuse University, where he played for the Orange for three years. After redshirting his freshman year, Coughlin made three appearances in his career at Syracuse, not allowing a goal in any of those outings.
 
Following his redshirt sophomore season, Coughlin transferred to Canisius College, where he was a two-year starter at the goalkeeper position and team captain. He finished his collegiate career with seven school records including single-season records for shutouts (8), goals-against average (.85) and wins (9). He was voted to the 50th anniversary All-Canisius XI First Team. Coughlin was named WNY Goalkeeper of the Year in 2014 and 2015.
 
After graduating from Canisus in December of 2015, Coughlin signed with the Syracuse Silver Knights in the Major Arena Soccer League. A current member of the active roster, Coughlin went 5-2 and was voted to the MASL All-Rookie First Team. He also received the Syracuse Silver Knights Unsung Hero award voted on by the players and coaches.

Division 1

Wake Forest head men's soccer coach Bobby Muuss announced the hiring of Matt Poplawski as the program's new Volunteer Assistant Coach prior to the 2017 season. He enters his second year in 2018.

In his first year in Winston-Salem, he helped the Deacs to a 19-2-2 overall record and 7-0-1 mark in the ACC. By winning the ACC Championship, Wake Forest became the first team in the league to finish the ACC regular season and Championship undefeated since 1999. The Deacs were rewarded with ACC Offensive Player of the Year (Jon Bakero) and Defensive Player of the Year (Kevin Politz) honors, as each was also named an All-American.

Poplawski is part of a staff which earned the United Soccer Coaches Region Staff of the Year honors in 2017. He helped coach MAC Hermann Trophy winner Jon Bakero and CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year winner Kevin Politz, who became two of the seven Deacons to head to the MLS ranks following the season.

Poplawski joined the Demon Deacons from Penn, where he was a 2017 graduate of the Wharton School of Business, and a two-sport varsity athlete.

On the pitch, Poplawski was a two-time All-Ivy League honoree and two-year team captain. He also played basketball for two seasons, appearing in 17 games.

John Shimer

John Shimer joined the Boston College Eagles after a successful 6-year stint just down the road at Pine Manor College where he founded the Division III men's program in 2014 and led the Gators to two ACAA conference championships, an overall 56-33-9 record, and over 30 All-Conference selections.




Previously Shimer worked at both Endicott College where he brought in a class that featured two CCC Defensive Players of the Year and one All-American. That class would help lead Endicott to 4 straight regular season conference championships. Prior to Endicott, Shimer worked at his alma mater Ohio Wesleyan for a season where the Battling  Bishops won the regular season NCAC conference championship and ultimately advanced to the first round of the NCAA tournament. 

Ryan Sandell

Ryan Sandell is in his first year on the men's soccer staff at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Penn, Ryan was the first assistant at Muhlenberg College in 2020, and was the goalkeeper coach at Drexel University in 2018. In 2019, Ryan played overseas in Sweden, and Northern Ireland. As a college player at Elizabethtown College, Ryan was a First Team All-Conference Selection, and NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team selection, as well as helping Etown to a third conference final in four years,  and an NCAA tournament appearance and first round win.

Jacob Wilson

Jacob Wilson returned to his alma mater when he joined the Cal mens soccer coaching staff in 2016 as an assistant coach under former Cal head coach Kevin Grimes - who mentored Wilson when the latter was a Golden Bears player.

Jake has played in all levels of soccer (Recreational, competitive club, high school, Division 1 college--Cal, semi-pro--PDL and NPSL, and professionally) He has a great understanding of what it means.

He is passionate about raising the level of soccer in the bay area and around the US, and that starts with the youth and getting involved in the community. Josh Oldroyd

Josh Oldroyd enters his first season as assistant coach for the Pitt mens soccer team in 2023. Oldroyd will work with the Panthers goalkeepers.
 
Oldroyd comes to Pittsburgh following five successful seasons as assistant coach at the University of Kentucky where he worked with the Wildcats goalkeepers.
 
The 2022 campaign was another impressive year for the Wildcats as they posted a 15-1-5 overall record while going 5-0-3 in Sun Belt Conference games while earning their first Sun Belt Tournament title and earning the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament. After advancing to their third straight NCAA Championship Sweet 16, the Wildcats fell 2-1 to Pitt for their lone loss of the season.
 
Under Oldroyds tutelage, true freshman goalkeeper Casper Mols put together one of the best seasons between the pipes in program history as he earned First Team All-America honors to go along with Sun Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and All-Sun Belt Conference Tournament team. The Aabernaa, Denmark native finished off his first season with a 11-1-4 overall record, a 0.76 goals-against average, .700 save percentage and seven shutouts. Overall during the 2022 season, the Wildcats goalkeepers allowed just 16 goals across 23 games.
 
The 2021 season was one to remember for Kentucky as Oldroyd helped lead the Wildcats to their second C-USA Tournament championship title in program history after defeating Florida Atlantic in an overtime thriller. Kentucky then went on to its fourth NCAA Championship Sweet 16 appearance.
 
Kentuckys award haul in 2021 was nothing short of impressive. The Wildcats landed three players on the All-C-USA First Team, one on the Second Team, three on the Third Team, two on the All-Freshman Team, and four on the All-Tournament Team. Goalkeeper Jan Hoffelner was named the C-USA Goalkeeper of the Year and earned the Golden Boot Award, while he joined Luis Grassow and Marcel Meinzer on the USCA All-Region First Team.

Under Oldroyd, Hoffelner became the third UK player to ever earn United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-American in 2021. Hoffelner was also a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and concluded the season as the NCAA Division I outright leader in goals-against average (.417), also tied for first with 12 shutouts.

During an extended 2020 season, Oldroyd helped guide the Wildcats to the third NCAA Championship Sweet 16 appearance in school history, marking the second such appearance in the last three seasons. Between the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters, redshirt senior Aimé Mabika was selected with the 26th pick in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft by Inter Miami FC. One week prior, Kalil ElMedkhar signed a two-year contract with FC Dallas after his Homegrown Rights were acquired from the Philadelphia Union.

At the conclusion of the spring, Mabika earned United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region honors and six Wildcats received C-USA postseason accolades, including first-team All-C-USA performer and C-USA Co-Midfielder of the Year Marcel Meinzer. Redshirt junior Leon Jones earned first-team All-C-USA and United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region distinction before embarking on his professional career with Dunfermline Athletic FC in his home country of Scotland.

In 2019, Oldroyd helped lead Kentucky to an NCAA Tournament victory at home for the second consecutive season with a 2-1 overtime victory over Loyola Chicago. Four Wildcats received United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region recognition, while seven earned Conference USA honors at the end of the season. Mabika was named C-USA Player of the Year and a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American.

Oldroyd was part of UKs United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region Staff of the Year as the Wildcats marched to one of the most historic seasons in program history in 2018. The Wildcats enjoyed a record-setting fall that year, winning both the C-USA regular season and tournament title, setting the school record for wins (19), reaching the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, going 5-1 against top-25 opponents, and welcoming multiple 3,000-plus crowds to The Bell.

Working with the teams goalkeepers, Oldroyd helped Enrique Facusse earn United Soccer Coaches All-America honors in 2018. Overall, three Wildcats JJ Williams (First Team), Facusse (Second Team) and Mabika (Third Team) were named All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches for the 2018 season. Williams was a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, the highest individual award in college soccer, as he went on to sign a Generation Adidas Contract and be a first-round pick of Columbus Crew in the MLS SuperDraft.

Facusse was also named All-Region for the second year in a row as well as first-team All-C-USA. His .49 goals-against average ranked fourth nationally and his .84 save percentage ranked 12th in Division I. Facusse also led the nation in shutouts.

Oldroyd joined the UK staff after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Evansville where the Purple Aces went a combined 21-16-5. His main duties involved training the teams goalkeepers as well as working with the overall defensive strategy and scouting. 

He worked at Lindsey Wilson College as an assistant coach prior to joining the Evansville staff where he helped the Blue Raiders to a NAIA National Tournament berth in 2016.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Oldroyd enjoyed a stellar playing career at Bryan College in the NAIA. The Leeds, England, native was a three-time all-league honoree, capping his senior season with the Appalachian Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year award. During his time with the Lions, he helped the team claim both a regular season and tournament crown.

Before his move to the United States, Oldroyd spent time with Altofts FC in West Yorkshire, England, and played a part in the clubs U19 squad lifting the Northern Alliance Premier League title in 2011. He also competed with the Leeds United FC academy as well as with NEW College Pontefract.

Armando Castillo

In 2025, Armando joined Seattle University Men's Soccer as an assistant coach and video performance analyst. Armando is responsible for conducting post-match presentations, opposition scouting reports, live game analysis and film for individual player development. He is also involved with individual player training and small unit training for Seattle University Men's Soccer. He currently holds certifications for Talent Identification, Individual Player Development, Performance Analysis and Opposition Analysis from the PFSA, APFA and English FA. Prior to Seattle University, Armando worked with West Seattle Junction FC (USL2) as their Video Performance Analyst, and as the Assistant Coach for Highline College Men's Soccer program.

Jeremy Payne

Bucknell

Jeremy Payne, a former local soccer star at Midd-West High School and Messiah University who was most recently the head coach at Whitworth University, joined the Bucknell men's soccer staff in June 2023. 

"I am thrilled to have Jeremy, who I have known since his time as a player at Messiah, joining the staff at Bucknell," said head coach Dave Brandt. "He is an impressive and well-connected young coach who is an excellent recruiter and is experienced beyond his years. An excellent addition to our staff, Jeremy will be involved in every area of the program, both on and off the field."

A native of nearby Middleburg, Pa., Payne was an All-State player and two-time Daily Item Player of the Year during his days at Midd-West. He went on to star at Division III power Messiah, where he was the 2012 and 2014 United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Year. A key member of Messiah's 2012 and 2013 national championship teams, Payne was a three-time First Team All-America selection, and he was the D3Soccer.com Midfielder of the Year in 2012 and Forward of the Year in 2014. 

Payne launched his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Eastern University in 2015, and after two seasons he was elevated to head coach. In his first season in 2017, he led the Eagles to a 13-4-2 record, and one year later his squad finished 18-3-2, won MAC Freedom Conference regular-season and tournament titles, and reached the final 16 of the NCAA Division III Tournament. Eastern was recognized as the United Soccer Coaches Mid-Atlantic Region Staff of the Year in 2018. Despite heavy graduation losses, his team repeated as conference champs and returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2019.

After compiling a 42-17-5 record during his three seasons as head coach at Eastern, Payne accepted the head coaching position at Whitworth in Spokane, Wash., in April of 2020. After a COVID-altered 2020-21 season, Payne's squads finished 16-17-5 over the last two seasons, when he coached 10 All-Northwest Conference players and two NWC Freshmen of the Year. 

From 2019-22, Payne also served as the director of player personnel and strategic planning as well as an assistant coach with West Chester United SC. He was involved with coaching the club's USL2, NPSL and U23 programs and worked with players from a number of Division I programs, including Notre Dame, Villanova, Penn State, Penn, Akron, and Princeton. The team finished 13-2-2 in its inaugural USL2 season in 2021, and he coached six players who were selected in the MLS SuperDraft and 12 who signed professional contracts. 

Payne returned to his native Central Pennsylvania in the spring of 2023 to serve as the director of coaching with the highly successful North Union United Soccer Club. He will also serve as an assistant coach at Bucknell under second-year head coach Dave Brandt, who was also a standout player and coach at Messiah and is a member of the school's Hall of Fame.

Two-time all-conference forward Tyler Madeira joined the Muhlenberg men's soccer coaching staff for the 2021 season. Since his arrival at Muhlenberg, the Mules have won an ECAC Championship as well as a Centennial Conference Championship in back-to-back seasons.

Madeira played four years at Bloomsburg University, finishing his career with 39 points on 17 goals and 5 assists. He earned a spot on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference team twice, making the second team as a junior and the first team as a senior. Madeira led the Huskies with 10 goals in 2018, becoming the first Bloomsburg player in 15 years to record a hat trick.

Christopher Koch joined the men's soccer staff in March 2019 after a three-year stint on the sidelines for his alma mater, Washington (Md.) College, after the completion of his career on the pitch for the Shoremen. In Koch's time with the school, WC totaled 22 victories, including 10 victories in the 2016 season when the Shoremen advanced to the Centennial Conference semifinals. During Koch's time on the sidelines, seven players were named All-Centennial Conference.

As a player, Koch was a four-year defenseman for head coach Roy Dunshee, serving as captain in his senior season. During his senior campaign in 2015, Washington College posted its best record since 2003, while holding opponents to 1.24 goals per match. 

The Hadley, Massachusetts native graduated from Washington College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

Begins his 12th season as the Little Giants' head coach in 2023

Named Regional Coach of the Year in 2014

 Wabash team earned a sixth consecutive berth to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament and seventh in ten years under Keller.

Cristian Aleman was named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-America Third Team, becoming the first Wabash player to earn All-America honors since 1998. Forty players have earned All-NCAC honors under Keller, with 11 earning all-district or all-region honors.

Michael Tanchevski was named the 2019 NCAC Defensive Player of the Year, earned All-Region and Scholar All-Region honors, and capped his career by earning an NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship.

Came to Wabash from Allegheny College where he served as an assistant coach.

Graduated from the University of the Southwest where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in psychology in 2005. He also earned a master's of science in curriculum and instruction from Southwest in 2009. Keller and his wife, Kate, live in Crawfordsville with their two children.

Jose Cedeno

Cedeno was named the head coach of Whitmans mens soccer program in May 2015.

Cedeno came to Whitman via the Belmont United Soccer Club in Belmont, California, where he had been the Director of Coaching and Player Development since August 2012. During his stint with Belmont Cedeno also traveled to London, England, in the summer of 2014 where he worked as a volunteer academy coach for the U9U18 boys of the Crystal Palace F.C.

Though most recently from the club environment Cedeno is no stranger to collegiate soccer nor Division III and its philosophies.

At Hunter (N.Y.) College Cedeno headed the men's soccer program from 20052011. Tabbed the City University N.Y. Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) coach of the year in 2008 he captured conference titles in 2008 and 2010 earning trips into the NCAA D-III tournament. His squad in 2009 played its way into the CUNYAC championship game, falling one win short of stringing together three consecutive trips to nationals.

Athletic Director Dean Snider likes the experiences Cedeno brings from those successful years at Hunter. "(Cedeno) built a championship program before and he clearly has the skills and networking to bring a championship to Whitman College."

Cedeno also believes his time at Hunter will be helpful in his transition to Whitman.

"Working at Hunter in New York City with a diverse group of student-athletes taught me that regardless of the player's culture or background, recruiting is about finding the right match," explains Cedeno. "There are student-athletes who will thrive in the Whitman College setting and the coaching staff will be committed to seeking out those players and bringing them into the program and the college."

Cedeno learned about Whitman, his potential players and their program during his interview process and came away impressed.

"It is an honor to work at an institution with such a highly-regarded academic reputation, and with a great group of young men," Cedeno offered. "I believe the men's soccer program has a great deal of potential and am excited to begin working on building it into a national contender."

A holder of the United States Soccer Federation "A" license Cedeno earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in modern languages (Spanish) from Saint Peter's (N.J.) College, now University, in 2002. He went on to gain his Master of Science degree in sport management from Brooklyn College in 2011.

Bryan Kim '20 started working with the Carleton goalkeepers during the 2021 season. His top highlight on the playing field came in the finals of the 2018 MIAC Playoffs. The Knights played Augsubrg to a 1-1 draw, and Kim stopped a pair of shots as Carleton prevailed 4-3 in the shootout to advance to the NCAA Championships.

Miguel Mendoza is in his second season as a assistant coach with the Concordia University Irvine mens soccer team.
 
Mendoza played for the Eagles from 2014-2017 and earned his bachelors degree in exercise sports science (ESS). As a player, he was named 2016 PacWest Newcomer of the Year and was voted Second Team All-PacWest that same season.
 
As a Graduate assistant Mendoza has just finished his Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration (MCAA). Mendoza serves as the Technical coach for both the Mens and Womens Soccer Teams at CUI. 

Zack MacDougall

Zack MacDougall enters his first season with the Eagles as an assistant coach under head coach Jason Kilby. Prior to coming to UMW, he was an assistant coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College for a season.

In MacDougall's lone season with the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan, he helped guide them to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2008. The Bishops finished with an overall record of 15-6, including a regular season and tournament championship. During his time in North Carolina, he helped coach the North Carolina Olympic Development Program.

From 2012-2017, MacDougall earned his first assistant coaching gig with the men's soccer team at Randolph College. In his first season there, he helped the Wildcats reach a national ranking of #18. In 2013, Randolph finished with a 17-2-1 record which was good for a regular season championship as well as ranked #15 nationally. He secured two ODAC tournament finals appearances. MacDougall was a key part in recruiting while at Randolph as he brought in players that earned the accolades of All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American.

While coaching at Randolph, he also coached the Rustburg High School girls soccer team from 2015-2017. MacDougall was named head coach of the year in the conference twicer after leading the school to its first winning season and set the program record for wins in a season.

Zack was a four-year letterman at Randolph College where he was a member of the inaugural men's soccer program in 2007. He made a big impact for the Wildcats as he was a captain for two years, won the coach's award, and was named to numerous All-Tournament teams. MacDougall gained second team All-ODAC and Academic All-Conference honors in 2010 which was the year in which they gained their first ODAC tournament victory. MacDougall holds a Bachelor's Degree in History and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education, both obtained at Randolph College.

McClintock joined head coach Lenny Armuth's coaching staff as a in 2015. 
In 2017, he helped guide the Rangers to the Landmark Conference title as well as a berth in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Division III tournament.
Coach McClintock is Sporting Director of FC Motown a local NJ Natioanl powerhouse semi pro adult/college program in USL2, NPSL & US open Cup. 
Holds a full time role as the Director of Soccer & Education at USA Sport Group a youth sports provision organization. 


A Northern Ireland native, graduated from Liverpool John Moore's University in England.  He brings over 19 years of experience in coaching youth soccer both here in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
His soccer coaching licenses include USSF B, FA Level 1 & 2, USC Director of Coaching, National, Advanced & Premier Diplomas.

Bill Garno

Garno begins his 21st season at the helm of the Rochester Institute of Technology mens soccer team in 2016. In that time, Garno has led the Tigers to three appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament (2000, 2001 and 2004), a spot in the 2011 Liberty League title game and three Empire 8 championships. In 2000 and 2006, Garno earned Empire 8 Coach of the Year honors. Over the past 20 seasons, Garnos teams have compiled a 167-152-34 record (.521). He is one of only two coaches to eclipse the 100-win plateau in RIT mens soccer coaching history, and sits second in wins behind the late Doug May, a member of the RIT Athletics Hall of Fame, whom Garno played for. Under Garnos tutelage, 43 different Tigers earned All-Empire 8 honors from 1999 to 2010. Eight Tigers were named All-Liberty League honors since the Tigers joined the conference in 2011, including Scott Fishel, Gene Sicoli, Raul Silva and Rueben Marquez who were 2015 selections. Garno has coached three different Empire 8 Players of the Year and three Rookies of the Year, along with numerous academic honorees, including Sean Coots who was a 2012 CoSIDA Academic All-Region selection and a NSCAA Academic All-Region honoree. In 2015 Fishel and Luke Dorsey earned CoSIDA Academic All-Region honors. Dorsey was also named the winner of RITs prestigious Ellingson Award for academic excellence. Mike Lawson, who recently had a scholarship named in his honor at RITs National Technical Institute for the Deaf, was a two-time NSCAA Academic All American (2004 & 2005) and a two-time Empire 8 Player of the Year. The Tigers placed eight players on the Liberty League All-Academic squad in 2015. From 1983 to 1986, Garno was a defender for the Tigers, helping RIT to an impeccable 59-8-6 record, four conference titles and four appearances in the NCAA Tournament. After a successful collegiate career at RIT, Garno turned to coaching. Prior to taking over at RIT, he served as an assistant coach at the University of Rochester from 1992 to 1995. Garno is active in the local youth soccer scene, currently coaching for FC Dynamo ROC, and also having coached in the Empire United Soccer Academy, Hilton Heat, and Rochester Junior Rhinos, soccer clubs. He also has served as a head coach for the New York State West Olympic Development Program. A 1988 graduate of RIT, Garno was the Director of the Printing Applications Laboratory in RITs Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies for 21 years before being named the full-time mens soccer coach in Oct., 2012. He lives in Hilton, N.Y., with his wife, Marcey. They have three children, Bailey (23), Ellie (21), and Simon (18), who will begin his first year at RIT in the fall of 2016.  


Bill Garno

Bill Garno begins his 21st season at the helm of the Rochester Institute of Technology mens soccer team in 2016. In that time, Garno has led the Tigers to three appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament (2000, 2001 and 2004), a spot in the 2011 Liberty League title game and three Empire 8 championships. In 2000 and 2006, Garno earned Empire 8 Coach of the Year honors. Over the past 20 seasons, Garnos teams have compiled a 167-152-34 record (.521). He is one of only two coaches to eclipse the 100-win plateau in RIT mens soccer coaching history, and sits second in wins behind the late Doug May, a member of the RIT Athletics Hall of Fame, whom Garno played for. Under Garnos tutelage, 43 different Tigers earned All-Empire 8 honors from 1999 to 2010. Eight Tigers were named All-Liberty League honors since the Tigers joined the conference in 2011, including Scott Fishel, Gene Sicoli, Raul Silva and Rueben Marquez who were 2015 selections. Garno has coached three different Empire 8 Players of the Year and three Rookies of the Year, along with numerous academic honorees, including Sean Coots who was a 2012 CoSIDA Academic All-Region selection and a NSCAA Academic All-Region honoree. In 2015 Fishel and Luke Dorsey earned CoSIDA Academic All-Region honors. Dorsey was also named the winner of RITs prestigious Ellingson Award for academic excellence. Mike Lawson, who recently had a scholarship named in his honor at RITs National Technical Institute for the Deaf, was a two-time NSCAA Academic All American (2004 & 2005) and a two-time Empire 8 Player of the Year. The Tigers placed eight players on the Liberty League All-Academic squad in 2015. From 1983 to 1986, Garno was a defender for the Tigers, helping RIT to an impeccable 59-8-6 record, four conference titles and four appearances in the NCAA Tournament. After a successful collegiate career at RIT, Garno turned to coaching. Prior to taking over at RIT, he served as an assistant coach at the University of Rochester from 1992 to 1995. Graeme Jaap

After a stint as mens soccer assistant coach at Stetson University, Graeme Jaap takes over as the assistant coach at Cal State - Monterey Bay.
 
Jaap comes to Stetson after spending the 2016 season at Florida International, helping the Panthers reach the finals of the Conference USA Tournament. Prior to his time in Miami, Jaap spent five years on staff at Rollins College.
 
"I am thrilled to have Graeme as a part of the program here at Stetson," Stetson head coach Kyle Gookins said. "He has incredible college soccer experience and a vast recruiting network both domestically and internationally.  He is an extremely hardworking individual, and brings great energy to the locker room and training ground.  He fits right in with our values and will help drive the culture and the program forward." 

During his time at Rollins, Jaap helped lead the Tars to a 70-23-5 overall record, three Sunshine State Conference titles and four NCAA Tournament appearances.
 
"I couldn't be more excited to join the Stetson coaching staff," Jaap said. "The opportunity to work with Kyle was too good to pass up. Kyle has worked under some of the best coaches in the college game as an assistant, and has a wealth of soccer knowledge. I am really looking forward to working with him and continuing my development as a coach."
 
Prior to his arrival at Rollins, Jaap served as the head coach at Brescia University in Owensboro, Ky. In 2010 he led the Bearcats to the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.
 
Jaap enjoyed a successful playing career with the Hamilton Accies. He started his playing days as a standout for the U-18 Scottish national team, earning two caps.

He began his collegiate career at the University Mary in Bismarck, N.D., before transferring to Brescia in 2003. He earned NAIA All-American honors in 2004 before battling injury the next two years.

Jaap graduated from Brescia in 2006 with a degree in Business, focusing on Human Resources. Prior to coming to Rollins, he developed talent in Kentucky, coaching club in Owensboro.

Brooks is entering his fifth year as an assistant coach and eighth year overall with the program having served as a graduate assistant for three seasons.

Over his seven seasons, Carey has reached four National tournaments, reaching the final four in 2018. Carey won the Southern States Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship in 2016, 2017 & 2018 and won the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament Championship in 2016, 2018, 2019 & 2021.

Brooks primary role is working with the goalkeepers which has produced excellent results, which includes ranking number 1 in NAIA in goals against per game (0.41) and shutouts per game (0.62) (2019  Jose Domingo) the SSAC record number of shutouts (2019), Three SSAC golden gloves award (2016  Grant Adam,2018  Josh Carpenter,2019  Jose Domingo), Six 1st team all-conference goalkeepers (2016,2017  Grant Adam,2018  Josh Carpenter,2019  Jose Domingo,2020,2021  Buenyamin Yusufoglu), Three all-American goalkeepers (2016 Honorable mention, Grant Adam, 2018 third team, Josh Carpenter, 2019 Honorable mention, Jose Domingo)

Prior to William Carey, Brooks coached in Boston, Massachusetts where he coached a U18 club team at Global Premier Soccer as well as working as a Goalkeeping coach.

Before coming to the United States, Brooks played for youth academy club teams such as Plymouth Argyle, Bristol Rovers & Cambridge United. Brooks also represented Hampshire at senior level.

Brooks is originally from Cornwall, England. He holds a bachelors degree in Sport Science and Coaching from Southampton Solent University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from William Carey University. He currently holds a NSCAA Premier Coaching License.

Andy Kohel

Andy Kohel was named head men's soccer coach at Johnson & Wales University in January 2018. Kohel comes to JWU after serving as an assistant coach at Colorado College for the last three seasons.

While a member of the Tiger's coaching staff, Kohel helped coach the squad to a 41-10-9 record over three years and saw numerous players recognized for Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and United Soccer Coaches (USC) honors. As an assistant for Colorado College, Kohel was charged with video analysis, scouting, planning trainings and coordinating on-campus visits for recruits among other tasks. He has also worked with Rush Pikes Peak Soccer Club since January 2016, overseeing youth player development as part of the coaching staff.

Before joining the CC coaching staff, Kohel spent four seasons as an assistant at his alma mater, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. During his tenure, the Titans went 48-18-11 and captured the 2014 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championship and earned a spot in the 2013 NCAA Division III Championship.

Alongside his work with the Titans, Kohel also worked with FC Green Bay Soccer Club as a member of the coaching staff.

Kohel played his undergraduate career at UW-Oshkosh and was a four-year starter for the Titans. UW-Oshkosh went 52-16-11 in his career and as a senior advanced to the national semifinals of the NCAA tournament after going 20-1-3.

He holds a USSF 'B' Coaching license and earned his bachelor's degree in History.

Johnson & Wales University's Director of Athletics Tom Byrnes said of the appointment, "we are thrilled to have a coach of Andy's caliber lead our program.  He has seen the intricacies of successful programs and has seen first-hand the quality of play within the SCAC as we move towards membership in the conference. He has shown he can achieve at a high level due to his work ethic, competitive spirit and "all-in" attitude; he will bring these traits to our program as our coach as well. "

Dejan Mladenovic enters his 15th season as a member of the John Carroll men's soccer coaching staff in the 2020-21 school year.  

He is currently the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Blue Streaks as well as a visible member of the Sports Information Department.  

Mladenovic is also the director of the Summer and Winter JCU Men's Soccer ID Camps, Bernot Memorial Golf Outing and Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism clinics.

Zathey is starting his second stint as a head coach at Madonna after leading the Crusader women's team from 2001-05. "I am very pleased that we were able to get such a great coach and even better person in Mark," commented athletic director Bryan Rizzo after introducing Zathey to the team. "His roots with Madonna soccer date back to the inception of the program and he has remained a strong supporter of both the men's and women's teams through the years. I'm excited for the future of the program." During Zathey's tenure with the Crusader women, his squads won five straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) championships and advanced to the NAIA National Championship in 2005. A three-time selection as WHAC Coach of the Year (2002, '04, '05), 21, all five of Zathey's teams were ranked in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll at some point during the season with 2005 team ending the season at number eight. Zathey is the leader in career wins with 71, posting a 71-21-12 mark in his five seasons for a .740 winning percentage. "I am excited about this opportunity," said Zathey after his introduction to the team. "This step in my coaching journey is one that is a very emotional one. Madonna was very much a second home for me from '94-'05 when I was a student-athlete, and later a coach. Both soccer programs have a rich history. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the men's program and hope to continue to build upon the shoulders of the previous players and coaches who gave so much to the game." A member of the first ever Madonna University men's soccer team in 1994 and a two-time team captain, Zathey is a 2000 graduate of Madonna with a degree in history and a certificate in secondary education. Zathey continued his academic pursuits, earning a master's degree in sports administration from Wayne State in 2006. Zathey also served as an adjunct instructor at MU in 2004. Zathey has served as the technical director for the Michigan Rush as well as the director of the boy's Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) Olympic Development Program (ODP) since 2006 and has been a staff instructor for the MSYSA Coaching Education program since 2002. Prior to his time with the Rush, Zathey was the director of coaching for the Northville (Mich.) Soccer Association from 2001-06. Zathey holds both a United States Soccer Federation "A" License as well as a National Youth License. He earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Premier Diploma in 2012. Zathey also served on the staff of the Michigan Bucks PDL team from 2010-2016. Zathey earn the USSF Grassroots Instructor License in 2018. The 2017 team finished in the National Tournament in the Round of 16. The 2018 team finished at the National Tournament in the Final Four. The 2019 team finished at the National Tournament in the Round of 16.

Will Greer

Will Greer has been the head coach of the Lawrence University men's soccer team since 2016.

Greer brought a wealth of coaching experience at multiple levels and a diverse network of soccer connections. Greer was serving as the youth coaching director at Rush Wisconsin Soccer Club in Middleton, Wis., and as a head coach in the Olympic Development Program at the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association.

Greer was named interim head coach in September 2016 but was a familiar face within the program. Greer served as an assistant coach with the Vikings for six seasons from 2007-12. The Vikings made three Midwest Conference Tournament appearances during that stretch.

Greer, a 2003 Marian University graduate, led Lawrence to a 5-7-1 record in games he coached in 2016, and the Vikings finished with a 6-10-1 overall mark. He was then named the head coach in January 2017.

Greer and his wife, Jodi, live in Appleton and have three children.

Joey O'Keefe

Throughout O'Keefe's career as the Biola men's soccer head coach, he has instructed one United Soccer Coaches Association Scholar All-American, three United Soccer Coaches Association All-West Region players, three D2CCA All-West Region selections, one PacWest Defender of the Year, one PacWest Newcomer of the Year, one PacWest Freshman of the Year, eight All-PacWest selections, one PacWest Player of the Week, and 20 Academic All-PacWest players. 

2021 was a special year for O'Keefe and the Eagles as they paved the way for future soccer generations with a historic 2021 season. O'Keefe led the men's soccer team to their highest conference placement since 2015 (third place) and first ever NCAA West Regional where they played one match against Cal Poly Pomona.

O'Keefe's program was showered with well-deserved awards for an epic 2021 season. He received three of the PacWest's four major individual awards, including Defender of the Year (Izaac Zausch), Newcomer of the Year (Theo Le Calve), and Freshman of the Year (Adam Jones). He proceeded to bring in eight all-conference selections, three all-region picks, one First Team All-American, and 20 Academic All-PacWest players. 

Biola received All-Region nods from two publications and one All-American achievement under O'Keefe's lead in the 2021 campaign. The D2CCA and the United Soccer Coaches Association recognized Zausch as First Team All-Region. The United Soccer Coaches later named Zausch a Scholar All-American. Le Calv and Lawarence Kwazema were highlighted separately as Second Team All-Region picks from both associations.

Prior to returning to Biola, O'Keefe spent two seasons at Westcliff, helping the Warriors to a 19-6-4 combined overall record. O'Keefe was instrumental for the Warriors, coaching the inaugural men's and women's soccer teams in 2019. The pair of teams found immediate success with O'Keefe at the helm, holding a combined .863 winning percentage.

O'Keefe returns to the Eagles after playing four seasons for Biola during his collegiate career. O'Keefe earned three All-GSAC awards, a GSAC Player of the Year award, as well as a NAIA First Team All-American award as a student-athlete at Biola. 

In his playing career, O'Keefe played in the PDL for three seasons before signing a contract to play professionally in Salzburg, Austria. Since returning back to the States, O'Keefe has worked with the LA Galaxy traveling internationally to scout talent to bring back to the Galaxy 2 USL squad.

O'Keefe also made an impact for the soccer program at Pacifica Christian High School. As the team's head coach, O'Keefe earned a trio of coach of the year awards from 2017-2020.

He has this to say about rejoining Biola Athletics:
"I graciously accept the stewardship role that I have been given and I intend on developing generations of quality student-athletes that Biola can be proud of. The opportunity to pour back into the young men of this program is a dream come true for me. I am committed to the growth of these young men; spiritually, academically and athletically."

Kyle Schauls

Schauls, a former goalkeeper at Division III Wartburg College and assistant coach at Division I Western Michigan, was named the mens head soccer coach at Illinois Wesleyan University on July 7, 2014.

In his two seasons his teams have compiled an overall record of 13-21-2 (.389) with a mark of 3-11-0 (.214) in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
In his first season at IWU, Schauls's team was 7-12 with six games against teams that qualified for the NCAA Division III tournament.

In 2013 Schauls was an assistant coach at the University of Rochester with a team that finished 15-3-2, went 10-0-1 at home, won the University Athletic Association championship and lost 1-0 to Montclair State in the round of 16 of the NCAA Division III tournament.

From 2010 to 2012 Schauls was an assistant at Western Michigan, where teams were a combined 27-26-7 and were regular contenders at the top of the Mid-American Conference. The WMU 2012 team posted an 11-6-2 record, spent 12 straight weeks in the top 10 of the NSCAA Great Lakes Regional rankings, and received votes for the national top 25 for three weeks during the season.

Schauls worked closely with the Bronco goalkeeping unit, which posted a .91 GAA on the season, the Broncos lowest mark since 1989. His other responsibilities included overseeing the areas of compliance, recruiting, travel, academics, equipment, video analysis, camps, community outreach, and scouting.

In 2011, WMU made its second straight appearance in the Mid-American Conference championship game as the Broncos ousted defending national champion Akron in the semifinals. WMU also posted a signature regular-season win over in-state rival Michigan, beating the Wolverines for the first time ever in Ann Arbor.

Schauls previous coaching experience includes four seasons (2007-10) as the varsity assistant at West High School in Waterloo, Iowa, where he participated in all phases of coaching and specialized in goalkeeper instruction and training. West High produced an all-conference goalkeeper in both 2008 and 2009, and Schauls was a member of the 2009 Mississippi Valley Conference Coaching Staff of the Year. He has also coached at the No. 1 Soccer Camps in Fulton, Mo., and Kenosha, Wis. Additionally, he founded the Cedar Valley Goalkeeper Camp for youth goalies in Waterloo, Iowa.

At Wartburg, Schauls was a goalkeeper and a member of three consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament qualifying teams. He was also an Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference selection in his senior season.

Schauls earned a bachelors degree in physical education from Wartburg in 2010 and a masters degree in sport management from Western Michigan in 2012.
