Wake Forest head men's soccer coach Bobby Muuss announced the hiring of Matt Poplawski as the program's new Volunteer Assistant Coach prior to the 2017 season. He enters his second year in 2018.

In his first year in Winston-Salem, he helped the Deacs to a 19-2-2 overall record and 7-0-1 mark in the ACC. By winning the ACC Championship, Wake Forest became the first team in the league to finish the ACC regular season and Championship undefeated since 1999. The Deacs were rewarded with ACC Offensive Player of the Year (Jon Bakero) and Defensive Player of the Year (Kevin Politz) honors, as each was also named an All-American.

Poplawski is part of a staff which earned the United Soccer Coaches Region Staff of the Year honors in 2017. He helped coach MAC Hermann Trophy winner Jon Bakero and CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year winner Kevin Politz, who became two of the seven Deacons to head to the MLS ranks following the season.

Poplawski joined the Demon Deacons from Penn, where he was a 2017 graduate of the Wharton School of Business, and a two-sport varsity athlete.

On the pitch, Poplawski was a two-time All-Ivy League honoree and two-year team captain. He also played basketball for two seasons, appearing in 17 games.

Brian Plotkin

Division 1

Following a decorated two-year championship sweep alongside Chad Riley at Dartmouth College, Brian Plotkin officially joined the Notre Dame mens soccer program in February of 2018 as an assistant coach.

Plotkin joined Rileys staff at Notre Dame after spending the previous two seasons as a Dartmouth assistant coach. He was on the Big Green staff for each of the past two Ivy League championships during Dartmouths conference four-peat, which included a 12-3-1 mark and the 15th overall seed in the 2017 NCAA Division I Mens Soccer Championship.

In two seasons under Plotkins guidance, Dartmouths Wyatt Omsberg earned a pair of United Soccer Coaches All-America citations and doubled as the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year. More than 13 players, including Omsberg, received All-Ivy recognition during that span, and the Big Green earned a 2016 NSCAA Team Academic Award in honor of strong performance in the classroom.

Prior to his time at Dartmouth, Plotkin was an assistant coach at Loyola University (Chicago) for three seasons from 2013-15. The Ramblers swept Missouri Valley Conference Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Year awards during the 2015 campaign, while leading the NCAA in both team goals against average and the fewest goals allowed that season. A total of 12 players recruited under Plotkins watch ultimately achieved all-conference plaudits, and the Loyola staff received Missouri Valley Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2014.

Tyler Smith

Division 1

Tyler Smith begins his first year as an Assistant Coach for the Wisconsin men's soccer team.

He arrived in Madison after spending a season with North Central College as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach. He helped coach North Central College to a CCIW championship title and a NCAA DIII tournament appearance in 2024. Smith orchestrated a defense that posted a 0.79 goals against average (GAA) in over 20 matches and contributed to three first-time all-region selections, including an all-region freshman goalkeeper. He also head-coached the Reserves to an undefeated season (7-0-1) against CCIW, NAIA, and JUCO competition.

Prior to his time with North Central College, Smith served as an Illinois ODP goalkeeper coach. In this role he coached a group of elite 14-18 year-old goalkeepers, four US ODP National players, and numerous all-region selections.

Smith has four years of collegiate experience under his belt, playing for Earlham College from 2020-2023. During this time he set single-season and all-time records for games played, starts, minutes, saves, and save percentage. Smith also represented Earlham College and Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) as an NCAA DIII SAAC Representative, serving three terms as SAAC President. 

While playing at Earlham, Smith earned a Bachelors Degree in English and Media & Communications with a Minor in Sports Management. Smith has also completed his USSF D coaching license and has earned United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Coaching Diplomas.

Cameron Petty

Volunteer Assistant Coach (Goalkeepers)

Division 1

Former Belmont University mens soccer goalkeeper Cameron Petty is in his first season assisting the Bruins as a volunteer assistant coach/goalkeeper coach. Head coach David Costa appointed Petty to help the program's goalkeepers in August of 2022.
 
A Belmont graduate and Franklin, Tennessee, native, Petty was a four-year member of the mens soccer team and three-year letter winner for the Bruins. He has expansive knowledge of the game and goalkeeping position as a local youth goalkeeper coach.
 
For years, Petty has been a goalkeeper coach at Caleb Patterson-Sewells CPS Soccer Academy where he continues to lead the Elite Keepers program. Petty is also a goalkeeper staff coach at Tennessee Soccer Club (TSC) Nashville.
 
During his time as a Belmont student-athlete, Petty started 12 matches in front of goal and saw time between the pipes in 15 contests. After redshirting as a true freshman in 2017, Petty recorded 42 saves and earned four shutouts across three seasons. His goals against average was 1.18 and he held a save percentage of .737 in 1,152 minutes in goal. Petty was a three-time Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll member and garnered Belmonts first SoCon Defensive Player of the Week honor on March 2, 2021, following consecutive shutouts to begin the unique 2020-21 spring season.
 
Prior to his Bruin career, Petty starred at Brentwood Academy where he tallied the most clean sheets and most saves en route to all-region honors in 2016. He helped lead the Eagles to a trio of state tournament appearances.

Nico Luque

Nico Luque enters his third season in 2026 with the Bluejays. His responsibilities encompass scholarship allotment budgeting, recruiting relations, training lesson plans, with a specification as our Opponent Scouting and Video Coordinator.

Luque came to Creighton after spending the 2023 season with the Greenville Triumph (USL League 1). He also brings 10 years of collegiate experience with stops at UMass Lowell (2022), USC Upstate (2017-22) and Concordia (2014-17).

Ive known Nico for many years, he brings a wealth of expertise in recruiting, scouting, and building meaningful connections with players and staff both professionally and personally said head coach Johnny Torres. 

Over the past 14 years that Ive been in the United States, Creighton has been one of the programs to set a standard of excellence in Mens Soccer, said Luque. 

Luque served as the recruiting coordinator at UMass Lowell and USC Upstate for three seasons. During his tenure at USC Upstate, Luque helped the Spartans climb as high as 46 in the RPI, including a 6-1-1 record in Big South play during the 2020 season. The Spartans went on to reach the Big South Tournament Finals, falling to High Point. He helped develop 11 Big South All-Conference selections and was part of the Big South Coaching Staff of the Year in 2020.

Luque received his Bachelor of Science in psychology from Southern Wesleyan with a minor in coaching. He later received his MBA with an emphasis in leadership from Concordia in 2016, as well as a Master of Science in athletic administration with an emphasis in collegiate athletics in 2017.

Luque has his USSF A License and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

Adam Whitehead

My name is Adam Whitehead and I recently joined the Binghamton Bearcats Men's Soccer Coaching staff.

I moved from Long Island, where I coached within the ECNL for SUSA-Albertson. 




Prior to joining the Bearcats, I served as an assistant coach for Division III SUNY Purchase in 2019.

I also assisted the women's soccer program at the University of Northwestern Ohio in the fall of 2018. During that time, helped lead the Racers to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season title.



Before that, I was the head coach for the Long Island Rough Riders United Women's Soccer team from 2017-18, winning the Eastern Conference title and being named UWS Eastern Conference Coach of the Year. 

I played 4 years for the Binghamton Bearcats and graduated in 2013 from with a bachelor's degree in Human Development. 

Chris Volk

Division 1

Chris Volk joined the UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team as an assistant coach in August of 2017. Since his arrival at UCR, he has helped the Highlanders to 3 Big West Championships and two appearances to the NCAA Division I Tournament (2018 and 2022).

Volk is best known to area soccer fans as the longtime assistant coach and head coach at UC Irvine. During his 20 years with the Anteaters, Volk helped UCI to five NCAA Tournament appearances, including three trips to the Sweet 16.

The 'Eaters won four Big West Conference Championships, and four conference tournament titles during his final nine years with the program. Over that time span, UC Irvine compile a 106-67-22 win-loss record, and six national Top-25 rankings.

Volk was named the NSCAA Far West Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2008, and was a finalist for the national assistant coach of the year that same season.

Eleven of his student-athletes were drafted by MLS teams, and 33 earned Big West All-Academic honors.

Prior to his time at UC Irvine, Volk was the men's assistant coach at San Diego State, the assistant coach and goalkeeper coach at San Diego Mesa College, an assistant in the California Soccer Association South, and a Region IV ODP/Coach and Instructor. He also served as the head coach of the Orange County SC U23 USL PDL, and currently is the DOC for North Huntington Beach FC.

Volk received his bachelor's degree in social science with a minor in Spanish from San Diego State in 1992.

Sean Streb

ean Streb joins the Rochester mens soccer coaching staff in the spring of 2022, bringing with him a solid resume of playing and coaching experience on the soccer pitch.
 
Streb spent the last two seasons on the sidelines as First Assistant Coach at SUNY Cortland, helping the Red Dragons to a SUNYAC title and NCAA Division III Sweet 16 appearance in the 2021 season. While at Cortland, Streb was a key recruiter for the Red Dragons and had additional duties such as being the teams academic performance manager and travel operations manager.
 
Additionally, Strebs coaching experience extends to the club level where he has been Head Coach of the Syracuse Rush Soccer Club 2006 Boys, 2008 Boys and 2010 Girls teams over the last two years.
 
Streb also worked in New York City with E3Sports, serving in a variety of roles from 2017-2020. Also in that timespan, he was a coach with various teams throughout the New York City area, including stints as Varsity Girls Coach at Trevor Day School and Varsity Boys Coach at Riverdale Country School.
 
A graduate of SUNY Cortland, Streb played two years with the Red Dragons soccer team, being named team captain as a senior in 2015. He earned All-Conference honors in back-to-back seasons on defense for the Red Dragons and added All-Region accolades to his accomplishments in 2015.
 
Prior to playing at Cortland, Streb was a two-time captain and All-American at Tompkins Cortland Community College.
 
He earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology in 2017 from Cortland. Streb received his Masters degree at Cortland in Exercise Science in May 2022.

Tj Kostecky

TJ Kostecky arrived at Bard in July of 2019.

He came to Bard after 20 years as the head coach at Div. I LIU-Brooklyn, where he led the Blackbirds to the 2018 NCAA Tournament in his final season there. During his tenure there, he won three Northeast Conference titles, made three NCAA Tournament appearances and was the NEC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.

As successful as his teams have been on the pitch, Kosteckys squads were also devoted in the classroom. His 2003 & 2012 teams posted the highest team grade point average in the nation. The 2008 & 2015 squads was awarded the NEC Team Academic Award for posting the highest GPA among mens soccer teams in the conference. The 2011 & 2013 teams were distinguished by the conference with the NEC Sportsmanship Award.

Kostecky has a proven track record of rebuilding programs, having engineered successful turnarounds at each of his prior coaching stops. Prior to LIU, he took over an Appalachian State program in Boone, N.C., that had suffered four consecutive losing seasons prior to Kosteckys hiring in 1998. In his only season at the school, he led the Mountaineers to a 13-8 mark in 1998, marking the best first-year record for a coach in the programs history of over 40 years. For his efforts, he was named Southern Conference Coach of the Year.

Kostecky arrived in Boone following a successful run as head coach and director of athletics at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C., from 1994-97. He was handed the reins of a program that had suffered eight straight losing seasons before he led the team to a 46-25-7 record and captured two Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference championships. Kostecky was named CVAC Coach of the Year in 1997 and mentored one All-American and nine all-conference honorees during his tenure.

He began his collegiate coaching career at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he led the Highlanders from 1988-93. NJIT compiled a 67-37-11 mark in his six years, capturing conference championships in 1991 and 1992 and making four ECAC postseason trips. Kosteckys accomplishments at NJIT came in his native New Jersey, where he starred scholastically at Woodbridge Township High School.

Tactically, Kosteckys attacking practice sessions involve a system called Vision Training that he and business partner Len Bilous developed several years ago. This method helps players make smart, well-informed decisions by improving their field vision.

A featured clinician around the world, Kostecky conducted a coaching seminar in Masku, Finland, in March of 2005 on Vision Training. In early 2005, he released a video under the same name for players and coaches to use. Since its release, it has become one of the most requested coaching video's in the country and abroad.


TJ is currently finishing up a self-help book through Benbella books publishing  that's set to be released in the winter of 2023. The title of the book is "Eyes up! A soccer guru's guide to scoring big in the game of life". 

Throughout his career, Kostecky has been an instrumental figure in facilitating the growth of soccer in America. From 1987-94 he was a coach for New Jerseys Olympic Development Team and was responsible for the training and selection of the states top players for the United States National Team. When he accepted his post at Pfeiffer, he filled a similar role with North Carolinas Olympic Development squad. Several of the players he mentored have played succeeded at the international level, including former U.S. National Team captain Claudio Reyna, and moved onto professional leagues such as Major League Soccer.

Kostecky has also worked with U.S. Mens and Womens National Team members, including Julie Foudy, a captain of the 1999 Womens World Cup Champions. He conducted an instructional clinic for inner city children at the 1998 NCAA Division I Championships in Richmond, Va., for the NCAA Youth Education Through Sports Program and was again a guest clinician for YES at the 1999 and 2000 NCAA Championships.

In 1989, Kostecky founded Soccer Start, a youth soccer program for inner city children. He served as the programs National Chairman until 1993. The program continues to identify and cultivate the abundance of talent in the inner-cities. He was appointed World Cup 94 Committee Chair by then New Jersey Governor Jim Florio and coordinated training site activities in the Metropolitan area for each international team.

A former all-state performer at Woodbridge, he was inducted into the schools Hall of Fame in 1995. He played midfield on the mens soccer team at East Stroudsburg University and received a bachelors degree in health and physical education in 1983. He completed his masters degree at East Stroudsburg in the same field in 1992.

Joe Ruesgen

Joseph Ruesgen is going into his sixth season as an assistant coach of the NYU men's soccer team. His responsibilities include assisting Head Coach Kim Wyant with the playing squad, organizing the day-to-day operations, on-field sessions and game strategies, while also handling the recruiting duties.

Ruesgen previously spent two years as head coach of SUNY Purchases women's soccer team, posting an overall 12-22-1 record and a 7-10-1 in the Skyline Conference. In addition, he served as the men's Head Coach with the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) in the Cosmopolitan League and NPSL, in addition to coaching at the youth level in both NY and NJ.

Bryan Kim

Division 3

Bryan Kim '20 started working with the Carleton goalkeepers during the 2021 season. His top highlight on the playing field came in the finals of the 2018 MIAC Playoffs. The Knights played Augsubrg to a 1-1 draw, and Kim stopped a pair of shots as Carleton prevailed 4-3 in the shootout to advance to the NCAA Championships.

Rockne DeCoster joined the Caltech coaching staff in January 2023. In his three seasons, Caltech has had its three best records in over 50 years and had players selected to the All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American teams. Before Caltech, DeCoster coached at Grinnell College where he was the assistant men's soccer coach for 4 seasons. While at Grinnell he also recruited and coached multiple All-Conference and All-Region players, in addition to the 2021 CoSIDA All-American Player of the Year. He also helped the team reach back-to-back conference tournaments finals.

Joe Ilett

Joe Ilett '09 joined the Tritons staff in April 2024 as the interim head men's soccer coach before being elevated to head coach in December 2024. he enters his second year at the held for the 2025 season.  

In his first year with the Tritons, Ilett helped guided Eckerd back to the SSC Tournament for the first time since 2016, with a run at the end of the season, including a win over No. 23 Florida Tech. He also led the Tritons to an upset win over Division I Stetson. 


Ilett rejoined the team in the spring of 2024 as an assistant, helping guide the Tritons. He also spent time as an assistant coach for Eckerd from 2009-11. 

He has a background working at the professional level, spending the 2021-22 season as the UPSL Head Coach of the St.Petersburg Aztecs, the 2016-17 season with the Colchester United Football Club in England as the Development Coach and FITC Community Sport Coach, and the Technical Coach with West Ham United in 2013. 

Ilett brings a wealth of experience from the youth and prep level as well, spending four years with Chicago Fire Soccer from 2013-17, as the Director of Boys Soccer at AYSO Region 300 Extra Program in Illinois from 2015-16, as a coach with the Lyons Township Soccer Club in Illinois from 2017-19, four years with the Chargers Soccer Club in Clearwater spending time as the Academy Coach and Academy Director from 2019-2023, and with the Tampa Bay United Soccer Club in 2023. 

Ilett was a four-year member of the men's soccer team, appearing in 67 games with 25 goals and 16 assists. He was a two-time all-conference selection, earning honorable mention honors in 2005 and second-team honors in 2008. He ranks fifth in program history in career goals and tied for fourth in career assists.

Miguel Mendoza

Miguel Mendoza is in his second season as a assistant coach with the Concordia University Irvine mens soccer team.
 
Mendoza played for the Eagles from 2014-2017 and earned his bachelors degree in exercise sports science (ESS). As a player, he was named 2016 PacWest Newcomer of the Year and was voted Second Team All-PacWest that same season.
 
As a Graduate assistant Mendoza has just finished his Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration (MCAA). Mendoza serves as the Technical coach for both the Mens and Womens Soccer Teams at CUI. 

Scott Martin

Scott Martin is in his 4th season as the men's soccer assistant coach at Pfeiffer University.

With over a decade of coaching experience at the youth club ranks, he returns to the college game for the first time since 2015. Previously a member of John Keating's staff at Belmont Abbey College, Martin was a first-team assistant and led the reserve team program.

Martins's soccer career and exposure to the top levels of the game received a boost when he joined Total Football Analysis as a tactical analyst.

Since joining TFA in September 2019, he has made a meteoric climb to senior status, featuring in the magazine each month and working on many client projects, including for EPL, MLS, and A-League clubs.

In addition to coaching and Total Football Analysis content, Martin was also a Match Analyst for Vélez Club de Fútbol for three years, helping them earn promotion from the Spanish Tercera División to the Segunda División RFEF. His time at Vélez CF has also included contributions to the scouting department.

Martin has also published and edited soccer books. His initial contribution to a publication was taking the lead in the "Real Madrid: Preseason Soccer Prospectus 2020/21" project.

Since then, he has penned "Revitalizing Real Madrid: The Tactics and Stats behind Zinedine Zidane's Success" and co-authored "The Soccer Parenting Handbook: Help Your Kids Get Better While Keeping Your Sanity" with Chris Mumford, a UNC-Chapel Hill professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Martin is also a co-founder of The Football Legacy Magazine, which relives the performances of legendary teams through a tactical lens.

While playing philosophies and tactical systems are his soccer passions, it's supporting his players and helping them develop on and off the field that drives his coaching.

Martin believes that culture is the primary driver of performance, which requires close attention to leadership development, identifying internal motivations, and crafting a supportive, yet competitive environment.

Martin currently holds his USSF B License and is an IPSO Foundations of Football Scouting certificate holder. He has experience consulting national and professional teams, as well as top D1s.

Will Finnie

Volunteer Assistant Coach

Division 2

Will Finnie joined the mens Staff as a volunteer assistant in 2020. Finnie brings experience working with elite youth soccer players in Marin County, in addition to his playing experience. 

Finnie graduated from Dominican University in 2019 and was a goalkeeper for the mens soccer team for two seasons. Finnie accumulated 15 appearances for the Penguins, earning PacWest defender of the week honors in the 2019 season. 

Prior to attending Dominican, Finnie tended the net for College of Marin in Kentfield for two seasons. In his first season, he led the Mariners to their first ever postseason tournament berth and highest ever finish in the Bay Valley Conference, second place. In his second season he led the state in total saves while maintaining an 85% save percentage. 

Today, Finnie lives in San Rafael and continues to coach elite youth teams and goalkeepers at Marin FC and Redwood High School.

Chuck Pitts

Pitts joined the WWU men's soccer program in March 2023 after one season as an assistant coach with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's soccer program in 2022. Prior to CMS Pitts was an assistant coach at Marymount California University, helping lead the program to the NAIA national tournament.
 
Pitts also has experience coaching at the club and high school levels as an assistant coach with Redondo Union High School, helping the squad to a 2022 CIF Southern Section Championship and a 17-6-2 overall record. He also worked with the JV program at Brentwood School for two seasons (2017-18), helping his squads to back-to-back undefeated seasons and a combined 28-0-2 record.
 
At the club level, Pitts has worked with the Beach Futbol Club in Manhattan Beach from 2020-22, where he planned, organized and facilitated all the day-to-day responsibilities of the B2013 and B2011 youth teams.
 
A former student-athlete at the NCAA Division II level, Pitts was a standout at Humboldt State from 2011-15, leading the Lumberjacks in goals scored during his junior and senior seasons. During his collegiate playing days Pitts was a First Team All-CCAA performer, NSCAA All-Region selection and team captain as a senior.
 
After graduating from Humboldt State with a degree in communication, Pitts played for the Puget Sound Gunners FC of the PDL in 2015, and then for the L.A. Wolves of the UPSL from 2016-18, where he played for former U.S. National Team member Eric Wynalda and led the team in scoring twice. The Wolves earned a 2017 USPL National Championship, as well as capturing the Cal South Amateur State Cup and Regional Cup before placing third at the 2017 National Amateur Cup in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Nick Robinson

Nick Robinson was named the head coach of the mens soccer program in May 2024.
 
Robinson played a vital role in the Panther's success after joining the staff as an assistant coach in 2021. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach in December of 2022.
 
In Robinson's time, the Panthers have accumulated a 28-12-13 record and saw much success in the postseason, including a 2023 Final Four run and Super Region II Championship, an undefeated regular season in 2022, the first Sunshine State Conference Tournament Championship in program history, and a Sweet 16 appearance.
 
Most recently, in 2023, Robinson played a role in developing the programs first-ever National Player of the Year in junior defenseman Sjur Drechsler. Following the 2023 historic season, he saw three Panthers earn USC All-American honors, five USC and four D2CCA All-South Region selections, and six All-SSC honorees.
 
In his first two seasons, the Panthers earned five All-SSC selections, including Defensive Player of the Year in goalkeeper Luis Tovar Romero, Sr., five USC and seven D2CCA All-South Region selections, and two First Team All-Americans.
 
Academically, Robinson coached three academic All-Americans and seven academic all-district selections.
 
Robinson and the Florida Tech Men's Soccer Coaching Staff were named the USC Division II South Region Coaching Staff of the Year in 2022 and 2023, as well as the 2022 SSC Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
A former star for the Panther men's soccer team from 2009-2011 and graduate assistant coach from 2012-2014, Robinson returned to Florida Tech after spending four seasons as assistant coach of the Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team from 2016-2020.
 
Eastern Florida State experienced much success during Robinson's tenure as an assistant coach, as he helped guide the Titans men's soccer program to an overall record of 55-14-7. Robinson and Titans head coach Oliver Twelvetrees were named the United Soccer Coaches Association Junior College Division I South Region Staff of the Year in 2019 after leading the Titans to a program-record 16 victories during the 2019 season, including a trip to the 2019 NJCAA National Championship Game. EFSC also made an NJCAA Final Four appearance in 2018.
 
The Titans won three straight Region 8 (Florida) Championships, appeared in four straight District/Regional Final Championship games since the 2016 season, and finished in the top 10 in the end-of-season NJCAA national rankings in all four seasons. Additionally, EFSC had its first National Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the 2019 season to go along with four NJCAA All-Americans.
 
Robinson also serves as the head coach for the 6A Viera High School boys' varsity soccer team, where he has held the position since 2015 and accumulated an overall record of 142-26-12. Most recently, Viera captured the program's 4th successive regional championship in 2023-24 while making the state championship game for a 3rd straight season. The Viera Hawks are the only program in Brevard County history to capture four straight regional championships and 1 of only three programs in Brevard County to appear in 3 consecutive state championships. One of the other two coaches was the late Fidgi Haig at Satellite High School between 2001-2003. Robinson led the Viera Hawks to their first state championship in 2022-23 for a banner season. The Hawks finished the season as the only undefeated team left in the state, compiling a 21-0-1 record. Robinson was awarded the prestigious Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year, USC State Coach of the Year, USC Regional Coach of the Year & Florida Coaches Coalition Coach of the Year. The program was also awarded Gatorade Player of the Year & Dairy Farmers Player of the Year honors. Over the last four seasons, the Hawks have won 4 Regional Championships, 3 District Championships, 2 Cape Coast Conference Championships, 2 State Runner Ups, and 1 State Championship. Robinson was also named Bervard Sports Network coach of the year for three straight years between 2021-2023.
 
In 2019, Robinson also guided his U19 Space Coast United Soccer Club to a Florida Youth Soccer Association State Championship, finishing as the top-ranked team in the state. Robinson is one of only two coaches on the boys' side in Brevard County to win both a club and high school state championship.
 
Robinson, a native of Victoria, Australia, had a stellar career for Florida Tech during his three seasons on the roster. He was named to the NSCAA All-South Region team in his senior season in 2011 and garnered SSC All-Conference team honors for two of his three seasons as a Panther. He started 42 of 45 games during his Florida Tech career and finished with 14 goals, seven assists, and six game-winning goals. Robinson led the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists, including three game-winners during his senior season.
 
After graduating from undergrad, he became a graduate assistant coach for the Panthers from 2012-2014, working alongside Chan while completing his master's degree. Florida Tech posted a 15-14-4 record during his two seasons on the sidelines.
 
Before transferring to Florida Tech, Robinson played the 2008 season at Lees-McRae College and helped the Bobcats go undefeated in conference play throughout the season. Lees-McRae claimed both the Conference Carolinas regular season and tournament championship that season and went on to the NCAA Sweet 16. Robinson earned All-Conference Carolinas team honors in 2008, finishing with six goals and five assists during his freshman season.
 
Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 2012 from Florida Tech and his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Florida Tech in 2013. Robinson currently holds his NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and USSF C License and is in the process of completing his USSF B License.
 
Robinson and his wife, Skylar, reside in Melbourne, Florida, with their three children, Mason, Harper-Jean & Tyson.

Brooks is entering his fifth year as an assistant coach and eighth year overall with the program having served as a graduate assistant for three seasons.

Over his seven seasons, Carey has reached four National tournaments, reaching the final four in 2018. Carey won the Southern States Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship in 2016, 2017 & 2018 and won the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament Championship in 2016, 2018, 2019 & 2021.

Brooks primary role is working with the goalkeepers which has produced excellent results, which includes ranking number 1 in NAIA in goals against per game (0.41) and shutouts per game (0.62) (2019  Jose Domingo) the SSAC record number of shutouts (2019), Three SSAC golden gloves award (2016  Grant Adam,2018  Josh Carpenter,2019  Jose Domingo), Six 1st team all-conference goalkeepers (2016,2017  Grant Adam,2018  Josh Carpenter,2019  Jose Domingo,2020,2021  Buenyamin Yusufoglu), Three all-American goalkeepers (2016 Honorable mention, Grant Adam, 2018 third team, Josh Carpenter, 2019 Honorable mention, Jose Domingo)

Prior to William Carey, Brooks coached in Boston, Massachusetts where he coached a U18 club team at Global Premier Soccer as well as working as a Goalkeeping coach.

Before coming to the United States, Brooks played for youth academy club teams such as Plymouth Argyle, Bristol Rovers & Cambridge United. Brooks also represented Hampshire at senior level.

Brooks is originally from Cornwall, England. He holds a bachelors degree in Sport Science and Coaching from Southampton Solent University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from William Carey University. He currently holds a NSCAA Premier Coaching License.

Texas Strikers/ Oxford City of Texas- Professional Arena Soccer Player(2014-2015) I was a part of Beaumont first professional soccer team. Here we were asked to train two times a day and travel for games once a week. I was a part of the team that played in the MASL semifinals with oxford city of texas.

Mac Thomalla joined the Musketeers in July of 2023 as an assistant men's soccer coach.

Thomalla was an assistant coach at McKendree from 2020-23, helping the Bearcats post a 19-16-12 (17-14-8 GLVC) record. He also helped coach seven players to All-GLVC honors during his time on the bench.

Thomalla served as the head coach of the St. Louis Scott Gallagher (Elite 04/05, IL) team from 2021-23. He also has club experience as an assistant coach for St. Louis Scott Gallagher (ECNL 06, IL) from 2022-23.

Thomalla was the head coach of Woodley Saints FC (Woodley, England) in 2018 and served as a soccer coach for Elite FT (Columbia, Ill.) in 2017.

Thomalla played at McKendree from 2017-20, playing in 48 GLVC matches. He earned all-conference honors in 2019 and helped the Bearcats capture the 2019 GLVC Championship. Thomalla helped the Bearcats advance to the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

The Reading, England native holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from McKendree ('21) and a master's degree in education from McKendree ('23).

Schauls, a former goalkeeper at Division III Wartburg College and assistant coach at Division I Western Michigan, was named the mens head soccer coach at Illinois Wesleyan University on July 7, 2014.

In his two seasons his teams have compiled an overall record of 13-21-2 (.389) with a mark of 3-11-0 (.214) in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
In his first season at IWU, Schauls's team was 7-12 with six games against teams that qualified for the NCAA Division III tournament.

In 2013 Schauls was an assistant coach at the University of Rochester with a team that finished 15-3-2, went 10-0-1 at home, won the University Athletic Association championship and lost 1-0 to Montclair State in the round of 16 of the NCAA Division III tournament.

From 2010 to 2012 Schauls was an assistant at Western Michigan, where teams were a combined 27-26-7 and were regular contenders at the top of the Mid-American Conference. The WMU 2012 team posted an 11-6-2 record, spent 12 straight weeks in the top 10 of the NSCAA Great Lakes Regional rankings, and received votes for the national top 25 for three weeks during the season.

Schauls worked closely with the Bronco goalkeeping unit, which posted a .91 GAA on the season, the Broncos lowest mark since 1989. His other responsibilities included overseeing the areas of compliance, recruiting, travel, academics, equipment, video analysis, camps, community outreach, and scouting.

In 2011, WMU made its second straight appearance in the Mid-American Conference championship game as the Broncos ousted defending national champion Akron in the semifinals. WMU also posted a signature regular-season win over in-state rival Michigan, beating the Wolverines for the first time ever in Ann Arbor.

Schauls previous coaching experience includes four seasons (2007-10) as the varsity assistant at West High School in Waterloo, Iowa, where he participated in all phases of coaching and specialized in goalkeeper instruction and training. West High produced an all-conference goalkeeper in both 2008 and 2009, and Schauls was a member of the 2009 Mississippi Valley Conference Coaching Staff of the Year. He has also coached at the No. 1 Soccer Camps in Fulton, Mo., and Kenosha, Wis. Additionally, he founded the Cedar Valley Goalkeeper Camp for youth goalies in Waterloo, Iowa.

At Wartburg, Schauls was a goalkeeper and a member of three consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament qualifying teams. He was also an Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference selection in his senior season.

Schauls earned a bachelors degree in physical education from Wartburg in 2010 and a masters degree in sport management from Western Michigan in 2012. He has earned both the National Coaching Diploma and National Goalkeeping Diploma from the NSCAA.

                                                                                                                
 
 

Kyle Clancy

Kyle Clancy joined the men's soccer staff in February of 2021. He comes to Knox after serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for the last two seasons.

Clancy, a two-year captain, competed for UW-Whitewater during the 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 seasons, helping the team reach the NCAA Tournament as a starter in 2014 and 2015. He was named honorable mention All-Wisconsin State by the United Soccer Coaches in 2018 after posting 12 points on two goals and a team-high eight assists.
 
Clancy competed in 79 matches during his Warhawk career, including 63 as a starter, and totaled 19 points on three goals and 13 assists. He earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholastic Honor Roll accolades three times and was selected as a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American in 2018-19 for his commitment to strength and conditioning coupled with his athletic accomplishments.

Clancy has earned three certifications from the United Soccer Coaches, including a Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma, a Futsal Level 1 Diploma and a Special Topics Diploma: Sports Psychology and Individual Mental Skills.
 
A native of Palatine, Ill., Clancy graduated with a bachelor's in physical education with an emphasis in health, human performance and recreation. He is pursuing a master's in education (professional studies) with an emphasis in higher education athletic administration.
